Prologue

My name is Stella Basile im twenty one. I once lived a normal life. A normal life for a witch that is. My family were part of a large coven in Maine. I loved it there, we all did. When I was sixteen, everything changed. My family calls it the event. I know cheesy right? It was definitley a life-changing event. One that dispersed everyone and our coven was no more. I mostly do not remember what happened and no one will talk about it.

My father is the leader of our old coven and our new one. He is said to be one of the most powerful warlocks in existence. He started our coven over one hundred years ago, when he and my mother moved from Romania. I am the youngest of seven. My oldest brother Michael is in his eighties he looks super young though. 

Anyways we moved to the suburbs of Chicago where my parents started a new coven. Everything was completely normal in my life the summer after college graduation. I graduated early by the way. I had a job and was applying to grad school. Everything seemed to be so normal, until...
