CHAPTER SEVEN

last update Terakhir Diperbarui: 2025-08-23 02:45:21

I went to the lake to watch the full moon rise. I realized I didn't have a wolf meaning I would be alone forever and that was until I heard her in my head. 'my wolf '. And that realization hit me hard! I cried thanking the Moon Goddess for her blessing. That was when I felt him behind me, I already knew who it was , my mate. Don't ask me how I knew but I had known since I was fourteen birthday.

When you meet your mate it is supposed to be a happy moment but I know he didn't come here for that, he wasn't coming to accept me and my wolf confirmed my suspicion when she whimpered in my head. Great! I just had my wolf and she's being rejected because human is cursed.

"I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I wished you had a better human," I apologized to my wolf, a glorious counter part of a human like me.

" Don't say like that Arya, you have endured alot, it is this pack that doesn't deserve you, Asira said and growled as we heard our mate footsteps approaching.

You came here to reject me right? I said before he could even utter a word.

I could see the confusion in his eyes, he probably thought I won't be able to recognize him as my mate but I have known for a while now and with my new senses awakening I could now accurately confirm my suspicion. He smelled of rain and pine trees, two scents that brings peace to my racing heart.

Then.... something happened, I could hear someone else voice.

" Mark my words Kory .....if you reject I would never forgive you. It was a deep animalistic voice and it seems furious .

" Who is that?" I asked myself.

"That's Korys wolf, 'Light," Asira said.

" Wait; how did you know that? I asked immediately.

"We are special Arya " , you just have to wait, she replied with pride.

It was weird to have someone inside your head. I couldn't understand her but I guess time would reveal it.

I know you wolf light doesn't want to reject me but I refuse to be with someone who knows I'm his mate and decided to be with her sister. "I'm sorry Asira I would have to reject him."

She growled and I was surprised. I expected her to pissed at me or at least be sad. Wolves always want their mate, and to reject the gift given by the Moon Goddess isn't something they easily forget.

"I don't want kory as a mate , I want light it's just a pity he was paired with such a scum," she snarled.

Even though she didn't want kory as her mate I'm sure she wants his wolf 'light.' I feel sorry for Korys wolf . He had to bear the pain of rejection because his human didn't respect the mate bond. I was surprised she didn't stop me. In fact she asked to sleep for a while after the rejection and I let her knowing she needed time to heal.

How did you know his name? He asked. I didn't know how Asira knew but I wasn't about to let him know that.

"It doesn't matter, I Arya Daston daughter of Halton and Celine , Alpha of ice wood pack reject you Kory Raven, future Alpha as your mate and future Luna." And just like that the bond broke. The worst pain I have ever felt engulfed me but I wasn't about to show it. I could feel my heart and soul and breaking into two . But I held my head high watching him crumble.

"I Kory Raven accept your rejection as my mate and future Luna," he responded. I could see the pain in his eyes immediately the bond was completely broken. I felt how Asira retreated to the back of my mind. She needed rest. I could see his eyes filled with curiosity but I won't answer anything to him. For one, I didn't know the answer myself and secondly he didn't deserve to know I have a wolf.

I'm not going answer any questions that you may have, I have known you're my mate for two years now. I knew you that you would reject me so I saved you the drama . Leave me alone from now on, with that, I just left him there, I entered the woods almost reaching the border, i had to release all the pain I was feeling . When I knew I was all alone I started crying at all the pain I was experiencing.

Why does the Moon Goddess hate me so much? I just wanted a mate that would love and cherish me. Instead I got a d**k head that preferred to be with my sister, my worst enemy. From that day on i tried to avoid him and my sister. I wanted to have a peaceful life in the pack until Asira came and I could transform. As soon as she's here with me I would let Adam know so we could go together though I don't think he would want to but I'll try.

A powerful voice brought me out of my reminisce.

" I see you go straight to the point, I like it." He said with a grin that made my knees went weak. I want to address the fact that we are mates but for that I need to clarify some facts.

"Why do you want a breeder? " I blurted out.

The question has been nagging at my mind for quite a while I knew it was only a matter of the time before I blurt it out. His got the good look and could get any girl he wants. Suddenly his eyes darkened and the surrounding the air became chilly. The power radiating from him told me his furious.

"I don't need a breeder. I needed a breeder, past tense." Why would I need a breeder when I have got my mate right in front of me, kaid growled. I rolled my eyes at him. So bossy, I haven't accepted it as my mate. But he's little possessiveness amuse me.

Okay, that's what I needed. "Still you came here for a reason and I want to know why? " I crossed my hands right in front my chest, determined not to let him leave without answering my questions.

"Hmmm.....I was pressured into taking a chosen mate.." there it goes, my eyes watered involuntarily. No...no... please don't cry, he urged then sighed.

" Look... I'm twenty eight years old and it's assumed that my mate is dead , so the council forcing me to get a chosen mate so I could have an heir. But that's isn't necessary anymore, I have found my mate." He stated.

" That still doesn't explain why you needed a breeder . You could have a son with your choosen mate." I replied.

" Yeah, but I wanted to have an heir without any she wolf approaching me just because of the throne," he explained.

And that is when realization kicked in, if I haven't been his mate he would have snatched the baby from me the moment it was given birth to. Asira growled at the thought our child being taken away from us. I think he noticed my anger and wanted to grasp my hand but I quickly moved my hand from his though within those split second a mesmerizing sensation flowed through my being. I could see the hurt in his eyes .

" So you wanted to forcefully take someone child from her arms. And that someone could have been me? " You could have judge someone and chose the right choosen mate, I seethed.

He wasn't a kid. He is a grown ass man.

I don't expect you to understand. It doesn't sound good to you but I have my reasons . If you want to judge me for them; then so be it but I would love for you to give this bond a chance. He said. I could register the soft please in his voice.

I want to give this bond a chance; I really do but first, I need to see his reaction when he hears I'm not the beloved daughter of the Alpha.

" I'm wolf less, my mother died during my child birth and it's said that I'm cursed."

  • The hidden past of my Alpha king and Me   CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT: Something like fear

By the time Arya reached her chambers, the morning light had already begun to swell across the glass panes. The world outside glimmered—rosy gold mist curling around the far gardens, the faint trill of the aviary—but none of it felt real. Not after that moment in his office. Not after those words.Be careful who you trust. They replayed in her head with every breath. They didn’t sound like advice. They sounded like confession. She closed the door softly behind her, her back pressing against the carved wood as if to steady herself against the weight of thoughts that had no shape yet but threatened to swallow her whole. Her eyes drifted toward the small desk by the window. The letter lay there, the same one she had hidden away the previous night. The parchment still hummed faintly—soft, muted, alive in some way that defied reason. Even when untouched, it seemed to pulse faintly, as though aware of her.And now, her father had it too. Or another like it.She cro

  • The hidden past of my Alpha king and Me   CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN: The veil of the morning

The night stretched long in the ice wood pack, heavy with unspoken things. Candles burned low in their sconces, throwing gold over the marble floors and the veined tapestries that bore the sigil of my father’s line — the crescent wolf beneath the red crown. It was beautiful, regal, and somehow… wrong.I walked through the corridors with my cloak drawn close, the echo of my boots soft against the stone. Behind me, Bobby followed at a respectful distance. He said nothing, but i felt his presence like a blade still sheathed — reliable, ready, but always assessing.I paused before the great door of the council library — a vault of secrets older than most of the pack itself. The guards were gone. I had made sure of it; a whispered command from the Alpha king mate, was enough to buy me a few hours of solitude.I pressed my palm to the carved wolf emblem. The door sighed open.“Keep watch,” I muttered.Bobby nodded once. “If I hear anything, I’ll make a distraction.”

  • The hidden past of my Alpha king and Me   CHAPTER FIFTY SIX: The feather and fame

The night stretched long and thin around in icewood. Outside, the wind combed through the frost-heavy pines, carrying whispers that could have been breath — or memory. The feather lay before me on the desk, glimmering faintly under the candlelight. Its veins pulsed with a color I couldn’t name, neither violet nor silver, but something between the two — something alive.Bobby had refused to leave, posted by the door like a sentinel carved from impatience and loyalty. Every few moments, he would mutter something under his breath — a joke to fill the silence, but the words always died before they left his mouth.“This thing gives me the creeps,” he finally said, glancing over. “It’s… humming.”“It’s resonating,” I corrected quietly, not looking away.“Right. Resonating. Much less creepy,” Bobby muttered.I smiled faintly, but my attention never wavered from the letter. The parchment lay flat, its strange runes faintly glowing in the feather’s proximity.

Then the room was empty again. The wards sealed. The candle flickered once — then went out.Kaid stood there in the dark, his breath slow, his mind burning. He could still hear Adam's last words echoing in his skull, heavy as iron:The thing that hunts her wears the shape of what she loves most.He clenched his fists. No more hesitation. No more waiting. When dawn fully broke, the Alpha of Red moon would begin to move his pieces.----------------------------------------------Kaid povI couldn't sleep throughout the night, Dark and Ravage kept stirring my emotions. As soon as first light of dawn bled through the frost-tinted windows of Red moon pack, I stood at the northern terrace, cloak brushing the cold stone, eyes fixed on the horizon where the forests stretched like a sleeping beast.Adams words hadn’t left me.The echoes of his words rang deep in my pulse. Something beneath your land. He had said.I could still feel that hum — fai

  • The hidden past of my Alpha king and Me   CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR: The blood remembers

Third person pov The room was silent but for the wind. A candle burned low beside Kaid’s desk, its flame steady — unnervingly steady — as though even the air itself dared not stir in the Alpha’s presence.Kaid sat half turned toward the hearth, the faint glow of embers drawing a bronze edge along his jaw. The wound across his shoulder, though half healed, pulsed in rhythm with his heartbeat — a reminder of the ambush, the blood, the near-death he’d met at the border. But that wasn’t what kept him awake. He felt it before it happened.A shift — small, deliberate, like the air folding in on itself. The wards he had woven into the chamber’s bones — crafted with silver dust, iron binding, and the quiet muttering of Icewood incantations — shivered. Not broke. Not burned. Simply... parted. He rose, slowly. The candle’s flame flared once, then steadied again. From the far corner of the room, the shadows lengthened — a ripple across the wall that deepened, d

My heart raced . Yet I pressed my fingers along the seam until i felt the slight give of a latch, hidden just beneath the wood grain. It opened with a soft, reluctant click.Inside lay a handful of sealed envelopes. Most bore my father’s crest — the familiar silver wolf of their bloodline. But one was different. It was bound in black wax, the seal unmarked except for a single vertical line — simple, clean, and unnerving. The parchment itself was darker, almost gray, as if time had already touched it though it looked newly made.It piqued my interest When i lifted it, the faintest pulse traveled through my fingertips — a thrum like the echo of a heartbeat, faint but undeniably there.I froze. My wolf hawled in recognition to the seal.I gasped quickly withdrawing my hands from it. It stopped the moment I withdrew my hand, leaving only silence.I stared at it for a long time, my pulse matching its ghost rhythm. Then, carefully, i broke the seal. The
