Raekav stone

MY EYES SNAPPED open forcefully. The vision I just had now was in no way settling. It was scary and toe curling. In every way possible, this was a warning of what was to come. The war that would decide the fate of the three realms under my mother's control. If the enemy should win this battle against my mom, the other goddesses would step in to defeat this Luciana and whoever could defeat her would take the three realms under her control thereby taking away the title of 'goddess' from my mom. This would also rip some of her powers away.

Moreover, I saw into some of my locked memories. To some extent, I felt angry and betrayed.

"A powerful aura is suddenly emanating from you. Have you awoken already?" A soft voice asked from beside me.

I shifted my gaze to her and noticed her palms hovered atop the underside of my left breast while she looked straight ahead. On closer inspection, I came to the realisation that she was blind.

"Where is Corey?" I asked sitting up

"Well that is no way to greet someone and I haven't even gotten to the thanking part yet. Do you not remember what happened?" The blind girl queried sounding a tad bit annoyed.

Memories of what happened earlier came rushing back to me and I reeled back in shock. The kingdom was under attack and I remember Corey saying something about a ship and...the arrow! My hands flew to where the arrow was shot and came in contact with smooth unbroken skin.

How is this possible? I remember bleeding from this spot.

"You seem confused lass. Have you finally remembered all? I healed your gaping wound in case you were wondering. I'm a healer and I can also sense emotions. The name is Raekav" She spoke in a strange accent.

"Thank you very much Raekav" I told her before taking my time to look around the decent sized cabin. White sheets covered the bed and the wooden floor looked clean enough. At one side of the room was a small wardrobe while a small bedside table stood proudly beside the bed. Atop it were some balms, creams, washsoaps and clean towels.

"Now don't think I did that all for nothing. I could have killed you easily while I was healing you and the prince wouldn't do anything but lock me up in the dungeons. He can't kill me you see, we are bound" She pulled my attention to herself once again. Her unseeing eyes shone mischievously as she looked in my direction.

Hot fire sparked within me as I heard what she said about she and Corey sharing a bond. With much effort, I concluded it was none of my business. For now, I would pass across what I saw in my vision.

"Very well. I guess I could repay you in someway. We will speak tonight. I need to freshen up for now"

Raekav nodded her head reluctantly and I slipped into the bathroom. Obviously it wasn't as exquisite as the one in the palace but it was very beautiful and had enough space in it. I slipped off my blood stained ball gown and stepped into the hot bath I prepared for myself. That there wasn't a single scar left of the injury still baffled me. The books I read stated that healers were actually very rare and those who were blessed with the gift were considered angels.

I stepped out from the bathroom and hurriedly put on a pink sun dress I found in the wardrobe. It's Sabrina neckline allowed full view of my collar bones and gold pendant. Unfortunately, the room wasn't given a mirror so I couldn't really see what I looked like. I combed through my hair with my fingers and made for the door.

As soon as I stepped out, I was met with the sight of maids going to and fro and bulky men scattered in groups around the rather wide beautifully furnished corridor.

"Aye the lass lives. She been out cold for the past two days" One of the bulky men said loudly as one of his arms landed on my shoulder. My knees buckled with the weight of his hand.

He was a giant!

I managed to make a wobbly smile at everyone since their attention was now focused on me.

"Let us celebrate her healing with some drums of rum! She be looking a tad bit different aye?" Another giant noted and the rest of the crew nodded enthusiastically.

"Take me to the King now" I demanded but I noticed that even my voice sounded different. More authoritative and not as soft as before.  Like the gushing of wind, I felt a sudden outburst of power within me. The men stopped grinning and looked at me curiously.

"Aye mi'lady. He be training yer sister out on deck little lassy. Now that ye seems strong and healthy, you'll be joinin' the training soon enough" The giant behind me explained to me before leading me to where Corey was.

As soon as I stepped out on deck, the whole place stilled. Just Corey, Cal, Calvin and Kellyn were up here. The first thing I noticed were the green cloaks they all had over their shoulders. The sun wasn't out and the air looked misty but I didn't feel cold at all. I tipped my head upwards and rose up my shoulders. My eyes were trained on Corey and a fiery anger surged within me.

"Kira! I'm so glad you're okay" Kellyn screeched, oblivious to what was going on inside my head. "Aren't you a bit cold though? The air is chilly here" she continued

"Kira? You look different. What  happened to your hair and your eyes?" Kellyn noted again now cocking her head to the side.

"You almost look like your mom herself" Calvin whispered like some nerd who just caught up to some interesting information.

He probably is a nerd.

Corey leaned against the mast casually and I began walking towards him.

"So much for missing you. A simple hey would've done" Kellyn murmured.

"You should go put on a cloak or something before you catch a cold and pass out for goddess knows how long" Corey said casually

"You hold on right there dimwit. When were you planning to tell me?" I asked as soon as I got to where he stood. Hands on hips, bottom lip jutting out.

"You do look so much like your mom. Your hair is lighter now and your eyes are back to golden. I was beginning to get tired of the fake look"

What was he talking about?

"Your hair is glowing too. I take it the pixie in the tulip is loosing it's reins on your lock since you're in a magical world now. We will have to teach you to block your thoughts lest a lisser get hold of the knowledge you have" he went on softly.  His voice sounded really alluring and this close, I got to see his facial features in details.

Glorious! Simply glorious!

"When were you planning to tell me about the engagement?" I asked angrily

He closed his eyes as if trying not to remember it. The engagement and the battle that happened after it.

"Forget about it" He said coldly looking away from me.

"Do you have a scar? Show me!" I demanded. When he didn't make any attempt to show me, I pulled up his shirt and sure enough, there was a jagged scar on this chest.

"Don't make anything of it. It's all in the past now and I've moved on and those thoughts you have are mere childish thoughts. It has been called off by the sun goddess herself"

"Mom?"

"You should wear a cloak soon or the cold will affect you. These powers are still tempoary for now. I understand you feel warmth because you are also a sun goddess but the lock is yet to fully come off. Go inside and rest" He told me without looking me in the eyes.  His words were cold but his voice was warm.

The secrets between us were endless.  Why would mom even do that?

On my way back to my room, I stopped by where Kellyn stood engrossed in a conversation with Cal.

"We'll meet in the room later this evening right? I missed you so much"

"Of course babe." She winked at me

On my way to the room, I briefly wondered why Kellyn was yet to experience these things.

Is it because I'm the successor?

As soon as I entered my room, I met Raekav sitting on my bed. Leg crossed and a cocky smile plastered on her pale lips.

How does this blind girl even walk around?

"Your aura seems dulled now. What are you disappointed at?"

"Stop reading me and tell me what you want already"

"Very well. You seem like a prized possession to the King. You and your fiesty sister. The King has been very worried in the days you were unconscious"

Warmth spread through my veins.

"You must be someone the King would listen to. I need you to persuade him to give us a chance"

"Us? Who's us?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Us an in him and I. I've been in love with him for as long as I can remember. You owe me this. Besides what do you have to loose anyway?"

Yeah right. She must be freaking kidding me!

"Of course Rae" I said with an overly sweet voice. I tried my best to change my emotions from anger to joy.

"You seem angry though" she noted thoughtfully

"Something happened on deck. Nevermind sweetie. I'll see you later" I lied

"Oh of course. Thank you!" A big smile appeared in her face and I felt like slapping it right off her face.

The nerve of this girl!
