Adrian pov

My claw used the soil as a leverage to leap higher in the air, using the claws, I grabbed his (John) leg and pulled him down with me.

I am so angry right now, I haven't been insulted in my life before. But this damn girl sister has the guts to insult me. And now I am going to take the anger on you.

My claws grabbed a piece of his pants. Applying force, I brought him down with me. The ground vibrated as a loud thud hit the ground. “Stupid blood sucking demons, you have the guts to come and fight me alone!” Although I was already in my wolf form, I could still communicate, but my voice was now harder and deeper than before.

“Cough, cough” John struggled to pull himself up, his face looked more younger, a pair of fangs could be seen hanging out of his mouth. “You damn dog, you take matters too serious. Were you planning on exposing us too early?”

I stopped for a moment. He was right though, I had almost exposed our identity, I remembered there was a human with Kate sister. What really happened, although this wasn't the first time, things like this happen. But I have never gotten angry to this extent. And it seems everything is related to Kate's sister. For some reason, I didn't want to be a villain, I had only wanted to tease her, but that stupid human kept on exposing things about me, that I couldn't take it any longer and got angry.

A loud growl caught my attention, I looked fiercely at the incoming brownish wolf, it jumped straight at me without any warning. Growling loudly, I smacked the wolf away, as the wolf flew away before stabling itself.

I felt some bad function surrounding me, and for a moment I felt cold feet. My claws got into good use tearing the air around me. Bingo.

If it wasn't the Tree killer, who could it be? It has tried to sneak attack on me, but my sharp sense of danger has always been high, and on less, he was faster, and he could hide his aura perfectly then he might have a chance against me.

“Adrian, let's stop this now” You know you can't defeat us all at once. Kate spoke, her golden pupil stared at me, challenging me to refuse. But who did she think I was?

“You don't tell me what to do! Come on you lot, I have been hitching for a fight all along.” My figure got into a battle stance. My eyes scanned around, calculating my next move. Till I saw her, she stood on a tree watching us, that was when it hit me, although I couldn't sense it before, but I sensed it now. The pull, the feeling, don't tell me… My heart beat faster, something clouded my judgement, it was like I couldn't see anyone except her.

She looked at me, our eyes met, and the urge to possess her overcame me. I completely forgot about everything, about the challenge. I didn't need any soothsayer to tell me this. This is my mate. A growl escaped my throat, my red pupil stared brightly as before.

I was so concentrated on her that I forgot that I was in a battle. Zero, (the tree killer) instantly left where he was, his movement became blurry, That I noticed it too late.

Slash

A long line appeared on my tummy just a little bit behind the sensitive spot. One thing that I was sure of was that if it was one inch down in my sensitive spot and I would be kissing the world bye bye.

I drop on all four. That attack had weakened me a lot. And there was a little trace of poison in that wound.

“You…” I growl slowly, my breath becomes unstable. As my eyes become blurry. I looked at Zero who did the final strike.

“First rule in assassinating. Look for the perfect chance to strike. You shouldn't have gotten distracted.”

Yes, he was right. I was distracted. My vision became blurry as it closed. My wolf figure shifted back to human. As I laid there naked, lying on the ground. I could hear a low thud hit the ground, then a hand. That hand, it's… soft, and… gentle. I sunk into unconsciousness, leaving my life into fate's hands.

*************************

I moaned lowly from the pain. As I blinked open my eyes. I felt my body being wrapped by some bandages. And I do notice that I was wearing something underneath, a short pant.

I looked around me, trying to figure where I was. The night seemed darker today, there wasn't any moon. But the fire burned meters away, making it easy for me to access my surroundings. Kate, sat around the round fire, with three of her wolves who seems to be her bodyguard, as they have been following her since she started schooling here. John, the vampire, looked busy drawing blood from his companion. As he sank his fang into her neck. While Zero the tree killer is on a tree, looking into the distance, only God knows what he was thinking.

I needed to leave this place. I tried sitting up, but I unknowingly winced in pain. It will take about a week before my injuries are fully healed.

“You are awake” A voice spoke behind me, i turned back, and it was Kate's sister. Her innocent voice starred something within me. My mate, she is my mate. “Come, let me help you up” She moved closer to me, by then everyone's attention was already focused on me. Kate stood up, already feeling alert.

“No” I waved her off. Even though it was painful, I never needed anyone's help in doing things. Even in school or anywhere I moved alone. Facing the world all by myself. Because I was born to be alone, and Born to be called the lone alpha.

Kate held some books to her blossom. Walking fast to get to where Sarah was. Seeing how far the distance was from where she was to where the Hall was located. She decided to take a short cut or rather what she thinks it's the fastest route. Turning to her left she walked for a while before she crossed a place that people don't frequently pass through. The road was lonely, as it was near the woods. Kate held her textbook tightly to her chest, as she took a deep breath, wondering if it was okay passing through. Many people have complained about seeing animals lurking around, especially wolves. Although she did not know how true those words were. But seeing how Sarah would be waiting for her. She shut her eyes tightly before opening them. What was left was a look of determination, as she crossed the narrow road, she kept her fingers crossed, praying silently. But her feet were faster now, compared to before. She had just reached the edge and just a few steps would take her out of ther

Sarah ran out of the Hall, in front of the large crowd gathered. Some looked at her with confusion, not knowing what transpired. While some minded their business. Sarah kept running, not looking if she bumped into someone or not. She ran till she reached the edge of the woods. Some students lurk behind, either with their partners or their friends, or some just stay behind for no reason. Sarah squatted down, keeping her head on her knees. As she cries silently. For the first time, she felt tired. About everything, she just wanted to go home, go far away from here. The environment suddenly stilled. That Sarah felt it too. Before she could still hear people talking, voices lurking around. But now everything just stilled as if no one was there. Looking up, her eyes first caught a brown expensive shoe, followed by a pair of long pants, and before going up to a black thick jacket and a dangerous but handsome face, he looked at her silently, there wasn't anything written on his face. The next day… In a large Hall besides the Cateferia. Groups of students from 01B, 02B, 03B, and 04B gathered together. Even when gathered together the senior students showed off by not associating with their Juniors. Even most of the Junior didn't dare go cause trouble for the senior as they stayed in their lane. Sarah and Kate stood together. Their instructor was supposed to be there but for some reason no one was available at the moment. “We have been standing here for over 30 minutes now and no one is here now. No teacher or instructor.” Kate complained. Her brows turn in a frown. “They might be here any moment though. We were asked to wait here. So someone would definitely come. By the way, where is the text book I asked about?” Sarah remembered she asked for some textbooks from Kate. She hasn't been paying much attention to some subjects and now to make up for that she has to study hard. “Ouch, I completely forgot it in class. I really wanted to give you, but it slipped my m

  • The runaway princess and her lone alpha   14. WHATS IN FOR ME

Into the woods, where everything seems quiet. A figure suddenly appears covering her face with a hood. Her steps seem light as she walks. Even when she stepped on top of a weak stick, her feet seemed so soft that she couldn't break the branch. When she reached a particular place where she was sure no one was watching. She leaned on the tree, taking off the hood that was hiding her face. Her eyes were red with blood, trailing down. Her face now looked so weak with little blood. Right now if any one could see her. They would surely think she was an old woman in her death bed. “ You are injured” Suddenly a voice resounds in her head. It wasn't a question but a statement. The weak lady looked in a particular far direction where she was sure the source of the voice could be. There is a figure wearing a large hooded black coat. No one could know if it was male or female. But the deep voice dictated that it was a male.“Adrian injured my eyes” The figure didn't move. But it crossed distanc

  • The runaway princess and her lone alpha   13. THAT EYE

Sarah held Adrian in his necks while Adrian's hands wrapped around her waist as he appeared straight outside Sarah's classroom class 01B. “Thanks,” Sarah said. They had been sparring almost the entire afternoon. And she was just back for the last lecture.Adrian nodded, not replying. He looked at Sarah for a moment, his face as cold as usual. But he felt lost for a moment, his hand wasn't as warm as before. The feeling. That touch. He folds his hand into a fist. Even though it was only for an instance. But that touch. For some reason he wanted to hold her forever. That feeling was something he had never experienced.“Lecture has started, but I still need to be in regardless” Sarah looked at the closed door, she could vaguely hear a voice coming from it. She has missed the entire lectures and she honestly hopes not to miss this. It wasn't that she was worried that she would fail but her friend, Kate. She didn't know what that vampire boy did to her, and her heart has been eager to se

  • The runaway princess and her lone alpha   12. CONTROL

Third POV“Come with me” Adrian walked through the woods. Hands in his pockets. Sarah follows suit, unsure of what was about to happen. She didn't know if she did the right thing in telling him or if she was just too foolish as Adrian said. After walking a while. They reached the depth of the woods. “Sit,” Adrian tells Sarah. Sarah sat down cross legged on the grass awaiting Adrian's next order. “Your wolf is too violent. And far more stronger than you. If you want to control your wolf. Then you have to have the ability to do that” Adrian walked towards a tree, backing her. Pulling out his clothes. Sarah's eyes went wild immediately. Seeing how fit his body looked. It was just like it was sculptured perfectly. Even the tattoo drawn on his shoulder blade that moved down to his back, seems something ancient. And beautiful. Sarah knew wolves could not draw tattoos because of how their bodies were too strong and it resisted any external forces, and the only way to apply it was through
