June's pov

"What the fuck is he doing here?"

The words slipped out of Parker's mouth before he could stop them.

I looked at Parker, then back out the window at Blake, and then back at Parker again. My stomach dropped. It was a slow, horrible feeling that made my blood run cold.

"You know him?" I asked.

Silence.

My chest tightened, making it hard to breathe. "Parker."

Nothing. He wouldn't look at me.

"You know him?"

The look of sheer panic and guilt on Parker's face answered me before he could e

June's pov"Take off your clothes."I nearly dropped the glass of water I was holding. I gasped, coughing slightly as a few drops spilled onto my shirt. The woman standing in the middle of my bedroom didn't even blink. She was impeccably dressed in a sharp grey pantsuit, her silver hair pulled back into a tight, flawless bun. Behind her, three younger assistants stood in a straight line, holding massive, heavy garment bags."Excuse me?" I asked, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand."Mr. Grayson paid forty thousand dollars for that dress," she said flatly, checking a sleek tablet in her hand. "And I need to make sure it fits perfectly. We have exactly four hours before the Gala. Strip, please."My jaw dropped. I had never experienced anything like this in my life. Before I could even protest, the woman waved her hand, and the assistants moved in like a well-trained military unit. For the next three hours, my bedroom was turned into a high-end luxury salon. I was poked, prodded, br

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   Personal Assistant

June's povI didn't sleep at all that night. Every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing Blake’s dark, serious face or Nathan’s wicked smile. When the clock finally struck twelve, I was standing outside his heavy oak office door. I took a deep breath, knocked once, and pushed it open.Blake was sitting behind his massive desk. He looked immaculate, his black suit perfectly tailored, but there was a dangerous edge to his posture. He didn't look up immediately. He finished typing something on his laptop, closed it with a soft click, and then fixed his dark, intense gaze on me."Sit down, June," he said, his voice a low, commanding baritone.I walked over and sat in the leather chair across from him, crossing my legs tightly. I wanted to look brave, but my heart was hammering against my ribs. "Are you going to fire me?" I asked, getting straight to the point. "Or is this where you cancel the contract?"Blake leaned back in his chair, a cold, dark smile touching his lips. "Cancel the con

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   Not my concern

June's pov "Put that photograph down, June."Nathan’s voice didn't sound like him at all. It was too quiet. Instead of putting it down, I gripped the silver frame tighter. "You three looked really close," I whispered, looking from the bright, laughing faces in the picture to the dark, rigid expression on his face. "You, Blake, and Parker. What did you do to each other?"Nathan didn't answer with words. In two long strides, he crossed the floor of the loft. Before I could even blink, his large hand clamped over mine, his long fingers forcing my grip off the silver frame. He used his bulk to crowd me, pressing his chest right against mine until the small of my back hit the bookshelf. The heavy books rattled behind my head."I told you to put it down," he breathed, his face inches from mine. The air between us instantly turned hot. "You're hurting me," I lied, my voice dropping to a breathy whisper.Nathan’s eyes darkened, turning a shade of amber that made my knees weak. He didn't

June's pov"You have exactly five minutes to get dressed before I leave without you."I groaned loudly into my pillow, pulling the blanket over my head to block out the light. "Good. Leave.""You're coming with me," Nathan said, his voice dropping all its usual playfulness.I rolled over, my eyes squinting against the bright morning sun. Nathan was standing in my bedroom doorway again. "Why?" I asked, sitting up and pushing my hair out of my face.Nathan grinned, a wicked spark in his eyes. "Because my brother would absolutely hate it."That was honestly the strongest argument he had made all week.Forty minutes later, I found myself sitting in the passenger seat of Nathan's sleek black SUV while the busy city streets stretched out around us. Blake had already left the estate hours ago for his urgent board meeting. Nathan had apparently taken his brother’s absence as a personal invitation to take me out of the mansion."So, where exactly are we going?" I asked, looking out the window

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   The wrong brother

June's povThe first person who knocked on my bedroom door the next morning wasn't Blake. It was Nathan, carrying a tray of pancakes and a whole lot of bad decisions.I cracked the door open and just stared at him through the narrow gap. He grinned back at me. "Good. You're awake." I looked down at the silver tray in his hands. He had piled it high with pancakes, fresh fruit, a steaming mug of coffee, and what appeared to be an entire, unopened bottle of maple syrup."Nathan," I said."June.""What exactly are you doing?""Being the favorite brother."I blinked, my hand still gripping the edge of the door. "You only have one brother.""Exactly. The competition isn't difficult."Before I could even think about stopping him, he used his shoulder to push past me, strolling right into my bedroom like he owned it."Hey!" I protested, turning around."Relax." He set the heavy tray down on a nearby side table and immediately made himself comfortable on the velvet couch, stretching his arms

  • Their Obsession, My ruin   Welcome back

June's pov The air in the room was so thick with heat I could barely breathe. Maybe it was because Blake was standing so close I could feel the warmth radiating off his skin.Or it was because of the last forty-eight hours—the lies, the brutal fight, and the terrifying photographs sitting on the mattress. Maybe it was because Blake had just admitted more in five seconds than he had in the entire time I’d known him.He wanted to break things at the mere thought of me leaving. I should have walked away. Instead, my stomach did a violent flip as his eyes dropped to my lips.Blake took a slow step forward, completely erasing the distance between us. He reached out, his large hand cupping the side of my neck. His thumb brushed right over the tender mark he had left there weeks ago, and a jolt of pure electricity shot straight down my spine."June," he murmured, his voice a low, rough growl."Blake," I whispered back, my hands instinctively reaching out to find purchase against his ches
