~ Aria’s POV ~

I didn’t stop running until I arrived at the doorstep of Thorne’s room. I let out a deep breath before knocking on the door. But there was no response from him.

“Didn’t he hear my conversation with Elara?” I whispered to myself, reaching for the door again, but his voice interrupted. “What are you doing?”

I turned to look at him. He stood a few feet away, hands tucked into the pockets of those signature shorts of his—he really never got tired of wearing them. A smile stretched across my lips as I rushed toward him. “Thank you so much,” I beamed.

“Thank you for what?” he muttered.

Here he goes again, pretending like he has no clue what I am talking about, but I was slowly getting used to this part of him—the part that plays dumb everytime.

"I just met my new cook,” I said, watching his expression carefully. He stared at me, emotionless. “And what does that have to do with me?”
