CHAPTER 33

      The Ambivalent World had nature as its apex, and by nature, it meant growth and life. It respected the flow of life, also known as the great circle. Witches, wizards, elves, dwarves, werewolves, nymphs, mermaids, fairies, pixies, and so on—all of them represented a certain element. One could exist under the vast ocean but be repulsed by land. Some could touch the sky but feared the murky underwater. And most dwelled with nature and hated the beings that defiled the natural circle of life—like the wizard, Merlin.
