Hunter’s POV

I don’t remember if I ever saw my mother shift, I must have, I can’t recall any time in particular, but then, I don’t remember much of my younger years at all. I have maybe four or five clear memories, none of them good, but all the little details are lost to my struggle for survival after a left the pack.

I knew I wouldn’t have any semblance of a life if I stayed there. The way my mother was treated showed me that. I understand now. Ever since the truth came to light about my identity, when Esme helped me fill in the blanks, I would have been next in line to be Alpha.
