I heard a communal intake of breath from the room, a sharp, quick noise. Dr. Todd made a humming sound under her breath, half question half confusion.
"What...What is it?" I did not even try to hide the concern in my voice.
"Your eye. Well, your right eye. It's completely white. Your other one is still blue green, as before. CiCi, what happened? What did you see?" She was asking gently, but I could feel the tension in the room. Of course, I had basically launched myself into the air, snapping in two and had some insane amounts of power coursing through me. Now that the chicken poo had been cleaned up, and we had gotten our giggles out we still needed to get down to business. CeCelia had been laughing so much she had been snorting as I described in detail exactly what had happened with the devil of a drumstick. The weeks had flown by, Zach and Mike had sort of settled into a weird rhythm with me. While they each had their own rooms within the packhouse they often spent many nights with me, of course never at the same time. They would alternate or do days in a row; whatever they had worked out between them it was fine with me as I got plenty of time with them both.
