Chapter 85 – Propose to me

Rodrigo POV

I stood there shocked and in awe. How can someone look that ethereal and at the same time have such a dark aura. Her face wasn’t visible but yet you could see the whole crowd that was gathered, shaking from the effect she had on them. Even Maria whose always so fearless cowered behind me. The rest of the lights seemed dim and the only light that shown brightly was the spotlight that had moved from me to land on the figure in the entrance way.

The crowd parted as she sauntered towards me, walking the length of the gold carpet, looking like every bit the temptress, she was. Every man watched her hips as it swayed side to side, and for some reason I hated that they were all staring at her like she was their favorite food. I stopped scanning the room and my eyes fell back on her as she approached the stairs of the stage and in that moment, it felt like the whole world dissolved, and all I could see was this petite yet deadly woman glaring at me, staring deep into my soul.
