Sadie Simmons pov
Opening the email notification on my cell phone, my amber eyes bulged at the announcement of getting a full-ride scholarship to the most prestigious school for werewolves. I covered my open mouth in shock upon seeing that I had aced the entrance exam. The principal wanted me to start immediately. The Wolfcrest Alpha Academy was the training grounds for every Alpha and possible Luna in the country, and only granted Alpha and noble wolf families into its prestigious halls. Only this year did it allow high-school graduates with a 4.0 average to submit applications. I did it on a whim since my boyfriend, Justin Norris, was going and we could still be together. I never expected to get accepted so quickly. Nor did Justin even think I'd get the chance due to my low rank of wolf. Squeezing my phone my joy soon faltered at what my father would tell me. My dad, who worked really hard, wanted me to marry rich and cared little about my academic success or future. He only focused on my younger brother’s success. “You should surprise Justin by stopping by the Tooth and Claw,” my wolf Stormy suggested to lighten my mood with the thought. Grinning sardonically, I agreed and started toward the small bar in town where he always went. Hearing a cheerful ruckus coming from inside the establishment I smiled at hearing Justin's voice as I entered. My smile quickly fell as I saw Vivian, our former school's queen B sitting on his lap with her arms intimately around my boyfriend's neck. The rest around the table were his haughty friends. They were encouraging the pair to kiss and my jaw tensed as their mouths connected. Cheering Mark asked Justin what he was going to do about me, now that he was heading to the Academy. “I'm overjoyed to be going to the Academy and leaving Sadie behind. She's just a small town, ignorant shewolf with no future and too worthless for someone with my potential as an Alpha’s son. Vivian is more at my level and will be attending the Academy with me due to my family's monetary donations. She didn’t even have to take the entrance exam and has already been accepted,” Justin boasted with a chuckle as he raised his mug of beer in cheer. Vivian giggled as she hugged his neck, and anger boiled within me knowing that he should have done that for me. Spying a half-full glass of alcohol left on a side table by a patron, I grabbed it and then stormed toward Justin. Flinging the contents into his and Vivian's face I growled, “We are DONE, Justin Norris. You're a cheating asshole!” My eyes flashed bitterly at the others who had quieted before I turned and left them all gawking at me. Sighing heavily, I ran to my family home to help my mom with dinner and prepare myself to hear my dad's belittling words for me when he discovered that I had broken up with Justin. “I can't believe that he's been cheating on me with her,” I muttered sourly as my eyes welled with unspent tears. I had been a perfect girlfriend to him. I'd been supportive, encouraging, and even helped him pass the final exams at the pack school. Shaking my head I readied myself as I stepped inside my home. My mom smiled at me but could sense something was off. “Is Justin joining us for dinner, he's such a great catch,” she stated as I swallowed uncomfortably. “Mom, I just broke up with him,” I muttered sourly and heard my dad's stern voice shouting, “What?!”Sadie Simmons pov Still in shock from seeing my ex turn into a red mist and heartbroken over Aiden's departure, I scooted from the backseat and frowned slightly as I stood there by Jaxon. Putting his hand on the small of my back he escorted me into our home. My dad's gray eyes narrowed at us as he stood with a drink of liquor in his hand. “Where's Aiden?” Lowering my eyes, I shook my head and stammered, “His dad died, and he left to become Alpha of his inherited pack…He didn't even say goodbye or acknowledge me in any way. He only said to have Jaxon call him when we returned here.” Rubbing my chest after my words I felt tears collecting in my eyes. “He killed his ex-girlfriend under compulsion, maybe he's just a cold-hearted bastard,” Jaxon stated, and I glared at him, having the gall to say such hurtful things. “What? I'm only telling the truth,” he muttered and raised his cellphone. “I'm going to call him out on the back patio,” he added sternly. Waving him off
Sadie Simmons pov Exhaustion. That's what I was feeling throughout my entire body. I had drained my energy completely. Glancing down at my bloody hands in shock I shivered at what I had done and witnessed. Jaxon had been fortunate and had had his back to his brother turning into a red mist. Exhaling deeply I concentrated on not being nauseous. “Should we contact her dad now? Maybe he can help us get cleaned up quicker so we don't have to drive all the way home looking like we massacred a large group,” Aiden commented. “There's a lake up ahead I figured we could just jump in,” Jaxon replied. “Then we will be soaked. I want to get to the Academy. I've already missed my first two classes and a test,” I sighed in disappointment. “The Academy will allow you to make it up,” Aiden informed me. Nodding slowly, I told him that was good to know. I then noticed Jaxon watching me through the rear-view mirror. “I would like to speak with Caspian about what I did. I used a lot of energy
Aiden Shaw pov Phantom howled loudly inside my head suddenly and caused me to trip slightly into Jaxon. “Stormy is sending us a warning. Justin Norris has gone insane and has her tied up at her mom's house. She says to be aware of your surroundings,” I muttered, repeating what my wolf was telling me. “Grim sent me the same. I wonder if we should head back to the car since we are exposed out in the open,” Jaxon huffed as we stood on the sidewalk together. “Yeah, we should,” I answered and followed him back to his car. Getting in, I watched Jaxon's door open, but he stood there as another vehicle pulled up. Leaning forward, my eyes widened as I saw Justin sitting there, grinning behind the wheel of his vehicle. “Hey brother, fancy seeing you here. What do I owe this strange visit for?” “You know damn well why Aiden and I are here and we're going to get Sadie and get her back to the Academy,” Jaxon asserted. “Tsk ask, she doesn't want to be mates with either of you and
Sadie Simmons pov My head hurt and I attempted to reach up to touch the painful area, but quickly furrowed my brow. My arm wasn't moving, making me frustrated. Opening my eyes abruptly I saw that I was tied to my old bed. Glancing around I noticed that I was in my old bedroom at home and grew irritated. “Why am I here?” I questioned in confusion then heard the door open. “Oh honey, keep still. You have a head injury and need to remain calm,” my mom said firmly. “Mom?” I muttered, utterly perplexed. She came to my side and dabbed a wet washcloth on my head causing me to wince from the sharp stabbing pain. “I'm so happy that you and Justin worked it out,” she quipped. Shaking my head slightly I muttered painfully, “No, we haven't worked out anything. Where did you hear that?” “He brought you here, dear, and told me everything. Plus, he said that he would take good care of you, along with all my needs as well. He's such a good kid,” she said happily. “Mom! Listen to me. Pleas
Jaxon Norris pov A large hand felt around my chest, ending on my face, waking me. Glancing at Aiden in the dark and seeing the empty space between us I shoved him awake. “Huh, what?" He muttered tiredly. “Sadie is not here,” I growled. “Maybe she went to her room to sleep as you should do,” he asserted as he rolled over, giving me his back. Grim whined loudly in my head, “She's NOT in the house.” My eyes widened instantly as I jumped from the bed and shouted for Aiden to get up. “Sadie's been taken! Grim tells me she is not here!” Rolling over, Aiden rubbed his eyes and growled, “Your brother broke in and took her?” “I don't know? Did you lock the front door when you came in?!” Seeing fear enter his eyes, I said, “Let's go, and find our mate!” Slipping on my jeans, I waited for him to hurry, then I paused a moment and sniffed the air. “Follow me,” I growled as I hurried after the fresh showered scent of my mate heading down the stairs. Following Sadie's smell, I ended up
Sadie Simmons pov “I will head to the security office and see what I can do to help out Aiden. In the meantime, you two stick together and stay safe, “ Caspian asserted as he stood to leave. “Thanks Dad,” I said sullenly, causing him to nod and grin slightly. “Looks like your house staff has already left. I will lock the front door on my way out,” he added, then left Jaxon and me sitting at the dinette. Both our cellphones dinged, and I pulled mine from my pocket, then gasped. “Classes will resume tomorrow at regular time. Any testing that was scheduled for today will be done tomorrow per the Wolfcrest Alpha Academy.” “Guess they believe that Aiden Shaw is the person responsible,” Jaxon huffed as he rubbed his eyes. “Could he actually be?” I questioned and he eyed me callously. “No, I don't believe that,” he growled. “Well, what should we do? We have the entire day and night,” I muttered and glanced up to hear him chuckling. Raising my brow I asked what he found so
