Chapter 4

Alpha Danes's POV.

It was my big day, the brightest day of my life, which I will hold dear for as long as I live. My wedding day.

I had barely slept last night, all I could think of was Lucia's flawless skin and beautiful face. She had left the palace three days ago, saying it was her tradition to be at her place three days prior to the wedding.

Today I will get to see her beautiful face again.

As soon as the clock struck 6am, the palace began to prepare for the big day. Maids flocked my room, helping me get dressed.

After some hours, everything was set. The wedding guests fidgeted in their seats, waiting for the arrival of my arrival. The door opened, all stood up as I walked in with their head bowed. My face was lit with a smile, Lucia is the only person who brings this side of me. After waiting for about fifteen minutes, the door opened again, it was my beautiful bride, Lucia.

She was dressed in a white overflowing wedding gown, adorned with rare pearls around the neck to her stomach. The gown shone brightly as it came in contact with the rays of the sun, which penetrated the open windows. The room was lit up by her smile as she kept her gaze locked with me as she approached me.

“Do you Alpha Danes Ken take Lucia Forbes as your lawfully wedded wife?” The priest asked.

“Yes, I do. I promise to always make her happy, keep a smile on her face, and make her life as bright as the sun.”

The wedding guests shrieked at my vows, happy roars filled the air.

“Do you......” The priest's voice brought decorum to the hall again. “.... Lucia Forbes, take Alpha Danes Ken as your lawfully husband?”

“Yes, I do.” She smiled.

The wedding ceremony went on and everything was exactly as I pictured it. Thanks to my Beta, Austin, he took care of the Pack's business while I was enjoying my honeymoon with Lucia in the palace.

“Alpha Danes.....” I placed a finger on her lips to shush her.

“Call me by my name. To you, I'm Danes, not Alpha Danes.”

“Okay then. I have a wedding surprise for you.”

“Really? So, where's it?”

“You should calm down, I'll give it to you when the time comes.”

I leaned over and placed a kiss on her lips, she got mesmerized by everything about her.

However, a knock on the door interrupted our sweet moment, a groan escaped my lips.

“Come in.”

The door opened and Austin walked in.

“Sorry to disturb you, Alpha Danes but there's a man who wants to see you.”

“Has he not been in town? Doesn't he know I'm still enjoying my honeymoon?” I roared in rage.

“He said it's time-sensitive and important.”

“To hell with urgent and important. Attend to him, or he gets his butts out of my palace.”

He stood there, his eyes yearning to talk to me.

“What is it, Austin?”

His eyes fell on Lucia and back to me.

“She's your Luna now, you can say whatever you want to say in her presence.”

Still, he hesitated.

“May I whisper it in your ear then?”

“Sure then.”

He walked closer to me, leaned over and whispered some things into my ear, my eyes glistened.

I jumped to my feet, grabbed a shirt, and stormed out of the room without sparing Lucia a glance.

I walked into the living room and met a man dressed in a pair of black jeans, and a gray shirt. He looked well taken care of, but something was off about him.

“You said you wanted to see me?”

“Yes, Alpha.” He responded with quivering lips with his head bowed to the floor.

I sat on my fave one - sitter couch, “Have a seat.”

He sat down, took a glance at me, and his gaze fell back to the floor.

“Go ahead, I don't have all day.” My voice harsh and filled with authority.

“Some people are planning a rebel against you…. Actually, it's a person, very close to you.”

My eyes glanced at Austin, “Is he the one?” I thought.

“Who could this be?”

“I'm afraid you won't believe me, good Alpha.”

“If you know your words are not believable, why call me out of my inner chamber?” I snapped in a growl.

He fell to his knees, “I apologize, good Alpha. Your wife, Luna Lucia, is the one planning the rebel against you.”

My heart stopped beating for a moment, Austin and I shared glances.

“How am I to believe you? Lucia loves me and can't rebel against me.”

“That's what she made you think, Alpha. Where was she three days to your wedding?” He looked up into my eyes.”Planing the rebel.”

“How dare you lie against my queen?” My voice beat with an air of authority as I stumped my feet on the floor.

“I dare not lie to you, Alpha. You will see for yourself and believe that she isn't who she says she is.”

“Take care of him until he proves it. Message me through a mind link and don't let Lucia suspect a thing.” I said to Austin with my gaze fixed on the man.

My face was void of any emotion while my heart tried to fight over this accusation for Lucia. She's the only woman I ever loved, I can only hope the Sage is lying.

I went back to the room, tried to feign happiness with Lucia, but she noticed.

“Is something wrong? Your mood has changed drastically.”

“I'm fine, Lucia. Just Pack stress, that was why I asked Austin to take care of it.” I faked a smile, but I could see it in her eyes, she didn't buy it.

“Are you hiding something from me?” Her soothing voice almost found its way to my heart while her soft hands caressed my face.

“What about you? Are you hiding anything from me, Lucia?”

Her gaze betrayed her.

“Yeah, the sage might be right.”
