Disagreement

When Donatus got home that evening, he met the whole family already seated in the dining room, ready to take their dinner; and it appears that he's the only one missing.

" Hi Honey!" He said and opened his arms widely, to receive his wife's hug.

" Sweetheart, you're back already." She said and hugged him tightly to himself. " I thought you won't make it, I've tried your line severely." She added.

" So sorry, my phone was silence. Let me see......." Donatus said and brought out his cellphone, and just as Juliet said, he'd 10 miss calls from her, and 15 miss calls from other sources.

" Oh dear! I've got a lot of miss calls here." He muttered and Juliet drew closer and looked into his phone.

" Don't always put your phone in silence, in case something happens and someone tries your like line." Juliet said.

" Am sorry, I won't do that again." Donatus said and placed his hand on her shoulder.

" Promise?" She asked and looked at his face.

" Of course!" Donatus replied amidst laughter.

" Will you mind to join us? Or you'll freshen up first?" Juliet asked.

" Hmmm......." Donatus said and shook his head from side to side in a funny manner, causing Juliana to laugh.

Juliet laughed as well and glanced at her little daughter, but Selina rolled her eyes angrily, while Nelson bites his lips to conceal his anger.

" Which one is better?" Donatus asked her.

" Anyone, but I prefer you take your bath first." Juliet said.

" Won't that deprived me from joining the family dinner?" Donatus asked.

" Maybe it would, but it will help to stop some conflict I think." Juliet replied and glanced at her two eldest children.

" Alright then, your wish is my command." Donatus said and kissed her lips, before hurrying upstairs. " I'll soon be back." He told her.

" I will be waiting!" Juliet said smiling, and he opened the door of the room and went in, slamming it shut almost at the same time.

Juliet returned to the dining and sit with her children. But didn't touch the food, since she's waiting for her husband.

She decided to bring up the matter while they're eating, but Selina and Nelson didn't take it lightly with her.

" I don't know if this is the right time to bring this up, but my mind is telling me to do so. Erm........" She paused and tapped her finger on the table.

" There's something you said today Selina, and I gave a second thought about it and I found out that it's good." Juliet said and Nelson glanced at Selina, who in turn stared at her mother with a surprise look.

" And what is that?" She asked curiously.

" The issue of setting boundaries. It's a good thing. At least for now!" Juliet said and everyone returned to their food. There's a little silence.

" So I decided to get an apartment for you guys, so that the boundaries will be well set." Juliet said and Selina dropped the spoon of food she's about to take to her mouth, and stared at her mother with wide eyes.

Nelson who's about to swallow the spoonful of food, got choke immediately and quickly drank a glass of water.

" What did you just say?" Selina asked.

" That's the best thing to do, Selina. I have tried to get you guys along, but it's not working. Since you want to set boundaries, I decided on that." Juliet said.

" No wait!" Nelson said and raised his hands. " I don't think I understand what you're talking about. Can someone explain it to me? It's somehow difficult to get!" He added.

" What's so difficult to understand Nelson?" Juliet asked.

" It's difficult because I don't know why you'll think of sending your children away, all because of a man. Come on mother! Isn't that a difficult thing to understand? How do you expect him to do so?" Selina asked unhappily.

" This is not about him Selina. You brought this up, and I'm just following up." Juliet said.

" That won't be possible Mom! I won't accept that. This is my father's house and no stranger has the right to throw me out!" Nelson yelled.

" No one is throwing you out of your father's house Nelson. You can always visit anytime you want. I am simply saying that, since you guys want to set a boundary with him, let's do it this way. No offense!" Juliet said.

" So I'll turn to a visitor in my father's house?" Nelson asked.

" What would happen to him then? Will he get an apartment as well, or he will still remain here?" Selina asked.

" What kind of a question is that?" Juliet said.

" We just want to understand mother. Will you get an apartment for him, or he'll live here with you?" Nelson asked.

" He is my husband. What's wrong with that?" Juliet said.

" Seriously Mom?" Selina blurted out.

" I think I've lost my appetite." Nelson said and stood up. " But Mom, I'll like you to take this message to him.

Tell him that I said that it will never happen in this house. I would've understand, if it's his house. But this is my father's house. My own father's house and no one can push me out." Nelson said.

" If there's anyone that should leave the house, it should be him." Selina said.

" That's right, but Mom is trying to make things difficult." Nelson concord to what Selina said.

" I am not making anything difficult. You two are the ones making this a big deal." Juliet said.

" But how do you expect us to leave our house and everything for a stranger?" Selina asked.

" You're not leaving anything for a stranger. And this person you're referring to as a stranger is now my husband. Give him some respect! I suffered with your father and carried you for nine months. I deserve to be happy! Don't try to control me cause I'm not a kid.

When you're saying that this is your father's house, have you also forgotten that this is my husband's house? I was here before you're brought to this world, and my decision has to be respected!" Juliet said sternly.

" Hmmm..... You know what? I'm out of here! This is bullshit!" Nelson said and walked away angrily.

" This matter will go a long way, mother. We will never accept this. If he's the one that sent you, then tell him that it didn't work. We will never accept such thing, not in this life and the life to come. If there's anyone to leave the house, it should be him.

We know that this is your husband house and you carried us for nine months and took care of us. We are grateful for that, but we won't allow you to put peppery substance into our eyes because of that. We deserve to be happy! Everyone deserve to be happy! Take this message to him." Selina said and stood up from the chair and walked out as well.

" Selina! Selina! Selina!" Juliet called three times, and she responded to the last one.

" Am going to my room. I want to rest mother! Goodnight." Selina said as she ran upstairs.

Juliet couldn't believe it. " What would I do now?" She asked herself. But then again, something slipped into her mind.

" What i mean is that, if we can't succeed in that way, we will succeed by doing it forcefully." She remembered what Donatus said and begin to wonder if it will work.

" We can't continue to live like this. It's not good at all." She muttered to herself.
