New Environment

The man who's pursuing her, hesitated for a moment, then took a step back. "Fine," he growled. "But this isn't over. I'll be back." With that, he turned and leapt off the roof, disappearing into the street.

The stranger turned to Selina, extending his hand to her, he said. "Are you okay?"

She nodded, her eyes still wide with shock. "I'm fine. Thank you," she managed to say. "My name's Selina. What's yours?"

"I'm Xavier. It's a pleasure to meet you, Selina. But I think we need to get you somewhere safe."

Selina nodded, still trembling. She didn't know who Xavier was or why he'd stepped in to help her, but she was grateful he was there.

Xavier guided her down the fire escape and back into the safety of the street below. He hailed a cab, and they climbed in, relieved to be away from the danger.
