Evelyn’s POV
I opened my eyes to the bright lights shining so bright in them and was forced to shut back. My head hurt so much and my neck wasn't accepting.
It felt as if I had been hit by a heavy stone, rendering my body useless.
A groan pulled out of my lips as I turned to the other side of the bed with my arms stretched.
The bed is too big and wide, not like what I remembered. I don't ever get the opportunity to sleep on a big bed. Even in my formal city, Settle, I had a small mattress, even in jail, that was the worst bed I had. Andy's new home is not any better.
Sensing I was in a different room other than my new, ruined room, I forced my eyes open, ignoring the sharp pain in my head, and sat up. I was indeed in a different room.
I was the only one. Was I kidnapped or did I go into the wrong house?
I looked around and it started coming back to me. I had shamelessly seduced a man and went into a room with him. The rest of the memory was a blur. I couldn't remember what happened when we got on, but his scent was still lingering around.
His scent got me in a loop that I couldn't find my way out.
I pushed the duvet away from my body and jumped out of the bed. He was gone but not the memory of what we did. Even though I can't remember what we did last night, I knew we were intimate.
I was half naked, only in my undies. I picked up my clothes, wore them, and ran out of the room. I need to forget about it. It was all a mistake and I blame it all on the alcohol. I said to myself as I made my way, out of the room, then into the bat and out of the building.
We won't see each other again. So I have a little hole of not getting reminded about last night. My face and hair were a mess, but who cares?
I took a cab back to my house and went in immediately. I needed to take a quick bath to wash off everything and every scent of that stranger from my body.
I might as well, do away with the clothes. I don't want anything of mine of what I did with him. I washed myself up and walked out, completely naked.
I stood in front of my body and looked at my car again. A horizontal cut, which left a long scar on my shoulder, down to my upper arm.
While staring at it, I suddenly caught sight of a mark on my neck. I quickly checked it out and my eyes went round, threatening to pull out from my forehead.
A mating mark. A mark only given during intense lovemaking among werewolves. Something did happen between us and in the process, I got a mating mark.
It is said to be there for a long while only if the two werewolves are fated mates. The mark would disappear. I calmed myself down and moved away from the mirror, not wanting to get a reminder of how shameless I was, by looking at the mark.
It would disappear and everything would be back to normal, again.
.....
It was night again. As always, I got freshened up and got ready for bed. I need some good night's sleep and I hope I get some in the old, broken house.
The event of two nights ago came flooding into my memory and I shivered at the thought of the stalker, visiting a gun that night.
I wasn't prepared and I had no weapon. I haven't gotten new kitchen utensils, not even a knife or pepper spray as many girls had.
I was just a single girl, living alone, with no means of protection in case she got attacked. Foolish of me, I know.
I drew the old duvet I had come along with and covered up myself. I shut my eyes to sleep but I don't know how long I had slept before I was woken by the sound of a plate, falling to the floor.
I jumped up and turned on my phone for its flashlight. I kept quiet and waited for any sound. Footsteps, I heard footsteps.
I climbed down the bed and held my phone tight. Even though I had no weapon, I do have my wolf. My eyes turned bright blue as I made way for the door.
Slowly, I opened it and the footsteps stopped. I didn't stop but went out completely and into the living room. I was sure I had bolted the door last night, but it wasn't bolted.
I swallowed hard as I walked to it and turned the knob which opened. Someone was in the house with me. I wasn't alone.
This is bad.
Suddenly, I heard a low growl behind me. He was behind me. So close to me that I felt his cold breath on my skin. I screamed out and took to my heels going out of the house, not waiting to see who he was.
Whoever he was, he would kill me. All I need is safety. I ran out, going towards the woods as my house was safe. He was inside and I wonder how he got in.
I kept running, not trying to look back. Coming out of the woods to the road, I was met with emptiness and darkness. There was no moving car or anyone.
It was just me, trying to run away from a rogue or probably a monster behind me. My legs were getting weak but I wasn't bothered about that as I made to continue running.
Just after covering a little distance, someone suddenly jumped in front of me and I bumped into him. I screamed and moved back. It was my stalker again.
I tried running back, but he caught my hand and drew me back to him. "Please- please let me go." I cried, but he wasn't willing to let go.
His mask made it difficult to know who I was dealing with, but his scent. I had perceived that scent and loved it before. The scent of rain and lemon.
"Argh!" I screamed as he pushed me even closer to him. Before I could try pushing him away, he took the form of a wolverine with furs growing out of his face and his eyes red. His fangs were out and sharp.
He is an Alpha. But which Alpha am I dealing with?
Before I could register what was going on any longer, his sharp fang went into my neck and I felt my life, getting drawn out.
I guess this is my end!
EVENLY’s POVI pulled out a groan from my lips as I forced my heavy eyes open. I was in my room and not a strange place I had woken up to, yesterday.I had a dream about seeing a man who was stalking me. Or was it not a dream? In my dream, I had collapsed and lost consciousness outside when I had an encounter with him.How the hell did I get back inside? My mind was playing so many games with me I don't know if I had a dream or if it happened, cause it felt so real. Well, some bad dreams feel like that. And for the stalker, maybe it was because I thought about him last night.I groaned and rubbed my tired neck, but got a sharp sting. "Ouch!" I cried and pulled my hand away, only to see blood. My eyes widened, as I jumped out of the bed and ran to the window. It was there. It wasn't a dream after all. It was just as I remembered. I got marked by that stranger. My heart skipped a beat. This is a disaster. No, it can't be. How could I let this happen to me? Marked to a total stranger? Th
We both stared at each other for a moment before he took his gaze to the man holding me. He was the same man I had laid with at the club. The man who marked me. "Let go of her, Damien. She is not one of your women." Jared instructed but Damien laughed and shook his head."Since when do I receive orders from you loser?" He retorted and made his grip on my wrist, tighter. I tried to wiggle my way out, but his tight hold wouldn't bulge. "I said, let go of her!" he growled but Damien remained still, not moving a bit or showing any sign of fear.I was standing among the Lycan brothers. The men I should avoid and be far away from. The two of them share a history with me.One, Jared, is my ex, and the other, is the man I seduced and marked me. Surprisingly, the mark was still there and that meant he was my mate. And I think he is also the stalker who has been going after me since I arrived in the city."You came too late brother. I am not letting her go now." Damien said out, still having
Author's POV:In the courtyard of the massive packhouse, two men sat side by side. One was Alpha James, the leader of the Silver pack, and the other was Beta Hudson, Mia's Ex husband.Alpha James was busily discussing the project they had at hand - a new and bigger orphanage for the area. But as Alpha James spoke, he noticed that his Beta seemed lost in thought.Concerned, Alpha James turned to him and asked, "Hudson, what's going on? You seem distracted"Hudson, taking a deep sigh, replied, "James, I... I got divorced from my wife."James' eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected revelation. The news hit him like a bolt from the blue."What? When?!" He asked, his voice echoing in the entire courtyard of the pack house.Hudson sighed tiredly and relaxed in his chair, "It's been like, a week now" he informed and James stared at him like he grew an extra head.James couldn't contain his curiosity and asked again, "Why did you divorce your wife, Hudson? And how come I didn't know about
Author's POV:Hudson who was observing the entire club couldn't help but ask James again,"Tell me more about this Triplets" he said.James chuckled over the soft music."Well, there isn't anything much to know about them. But Let me tell you, Hudson," James began, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "The Triplets Alphas are not to be taken lightly. They are not only the strongest individuals in the country but also considered by many to be the most handsome. It's like they were blessed with both brawn and beauty."He paused for a while and chucked his whiskey to the back of his throat."These Triplets were born into a life of privilege and wealth. Their parents, who were immensely proud of them, had nurtured them to be the epitome of success. From a young age, the Triplets were groomed to excel in every aspect of their lives, whether it was academics, sports, or their social standing."He continued and Hudson's eyes shone in surprise."But here's the thing, the Triplets are not just kno
Mia's POV:Melanie and I are standing right in front of the orphanage gate.It was my first day working here, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of nerves and excitement.Melanie had been such a great friend, helping me get the job as promised. She'm was standing beside me, giving me encouraging words, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for her support. As we entered the orphanage, the sight that greeted us was simply breathtaking. Children were running around everywhere, their laughter filling the air. The whole place was so clean and neat, it was like a well-kept sanctuary for these little ones. I couldn't help but be amazed at how well-organized everything was.In awe, I turn to Melanie and exclaim, "Oh my goddess, this place is so luxurious and fine. Who created such an orphanage for children? They must be incredibly kind-hearted."Melanie smiled warmly and replied, "You know, Mia, it's actually the triplet alphas of the Moon Claw Pack who created this orphanage. They are the o
Mia's POV: A few weeks had passed since Melanie showed me around the luxurious orphanage. Life had settled into a comfortable routine, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. But little did I know that a thrilling event was about to unfold. One day, an announcement echoed through the halls of the orphanage. The annual festival was just around the corner, and this year, it was going to be extra special. The festival was dedicated to entertaining the members of the Moonclaw Pack and the Silver Pack. The invitations were sent out, and the buzz of anticipation filled the air. But the news that sent everyone into a frenzy was that the Triplets Alphas was going to grace the orphanage with their presence at the festival. With the festival just two days away, everyone was in a rush to make preparations. The orphanage was abuzz with activity, as decorations were hung, stages were set up, and mouthwatering aromas wafted from the kitchen. The children were all excited, running around with s
Mia’s POV:I made up my mind that I'll be there for the festival. What was the worst that could happen? Even if Hudson showed up with his new girl, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I couldn’t hide from the truth any longer.Hudson and I were divorced. It’s high time that the others in the Silver Pack knew if they didn't already know.I wasn't sure if I could muster the courage to face him again. I wasn’t ashamed or scared. No, I was angry and I didn't know if I could hide that anger in front of other people. I was angry that he had impregnated another woman and then made me lose my baby.I knew I couldn't dwell on the past for too long. It would make me resent him and I won't be able to move on with my life. And with taking care of the children, I didn't want them surrounded by so much negative energy. This visit would do me good. It would be an opportunity to see if I can let go of the hurt.On the day that the Triplets were supposed to arrive, I treated it like every other day.
Author's POV:The excitement outside the orphanage was contagious. The workers and older children waited outside for the arrival of the Triplets. Melanie joined a coworker with ginger hair who stood out front with a great view.In a matter of minutes, the Triplets made their entrance. They were followed by an entourage of black cars, including the Alpha of the Silver Pack and his followers. From an upstairs window, Mia watched the cars as they parked, forming a long line.Guards filed out of the cars and walked over to three other black cars. Mia guessed that it must belong to the Triplets. After all, it looked much more expensive than the other cars lined up. But just as the front door was being opened, a little kid pulled Mia's hand asking for her attention.“Oh, what's wrong?” She asked, following after him and leaving her view at the window. One of the Triplets stepped out.“It’s Alpha Jackson,” one of the workers muttered.Jackson was the first to step out. He wore an impeccable
Mia's POV:I was scared. Something had happened while I was busy enjoying a massage. I grabbed Melanie's arm, “What? What happened?”“This house is awesome!” She screamed jumping and twirling at the same time. She was like a teenager excited about their new phone.I exhaled, glad that it wasn't something else. “Ohh? I haven't seen the place yet.”Melanie looked at Felicity curiously. “Who's she?” She asked.Felicity didn't take any offense and she held out her hand. “Hi, I'm Felicity—Mia's friend.”I looked at her as Melanie said, “I didn't know you made a new friend.”“We bonded over massages and manicures,” Felicity said, showing Melanie our nude-painted nails.“You had manicures?!” Melanie exclaimed, grabbing my hand.“Come show me the house,” I said, grabbing her hand and dragging her into the house.“Goodnight, girls.” Felicity chuckled.“Goodnight,” Melanie and I threw over our shoulder at her.***When I woke up, I was a bit confused. I didn't know where I was. The ceiling was
Mia's POV:I didn't know whether Jackson was jealous that Jaxon had kissed my hand or his eyes darkened because he thought of all the things he could do for me. I didn't know.I also didn't know how having three mates felt. Did they get jealous when one mate got closer to me or touched me? How were the three of them supposed to share one mate?I didn't know how possible it was because it was something that I had only heard about. Well, I was going to find out soon.Wait, did they know I had been married? I asked them because I needed them to know that. I needed them to be comfortable with the fact that I had been with someone before them.“We know everything there is to know about Mia. We just don't know you, personally.” Jace said.“And we don't care if you're divorced, heck, we don't care if you killed someone or multiple people,” Jackson added.“We just want you, Mia. All of you.” Jaxon completed.I was going to cry. I was going to cry in front of three grown men. I managed not to
Mia's POV:“From hair to nails, waxing to massages, the Triplets have booked the beauty parlor to attend to your every need.” She explained.“They booked the beauty parlor? You mean the whole thing?” I gestured at the large building behind her.She smiled. It wasn't mocking or anything. She seemed happy that I was getting this treatment for some reason. “Yes, the whole thing.”Why would they do that? Why would they want to change everything about me? Was I not good enough for them?It reminded me of Hudson. The only reason he paid for me to have my hair done or get massages was when he had important events. He needed me to be the trophy wife.I thought that he just wanted to doll me up but he specifically asked for my hair to be straightened because he didn't like my curls. I don't want the Triplets to do the same thing to me.“Don't look so worried. They asked me to get your permission first before anything was done. They wanted to make sure that you were comfortable and—” she paused
Mia's POV:I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little floored by this gesture. There were enough flowers to start a whole shop outside my door and now, the driver.“Oh, yes!” Melanie squealed. “Look at you, you're so lucky.”I raised a brow at her. “What do you mean ‘me’? We're both riding to work.” I corrected her.Her face immediately flushed and she shook her hand in front of me. “Oh, no, I couldn't do that.” She chuckled nervously.“Well, I insist. Anywhere I go, you go.” I said sternly grabbing her arm and walking towards the driver. “And if the Triplets don't like that, then they're going to be disappointed.”Melanie and I took the car and the guards escorted us to the orphanage. It was a little overkill because it brought more attention to us than keeping us safe.“Thank you,” I said to the driver. He bowed and I lowered my head. He was older than me and I felt weird for having him bow at me. I watched him get back into the car and drive away.I let out a breath. “I think I'm
Mia’s POV:My eyes widened. Why were they here already? Did someone already inform them of my arrival? I looked out the window just in time to see them getting out of their cars. The guards stationed in front bowed.Oh. It must have been them. They had seen me come in here and they must have informed the Triplets. Either way, they were here and I had to meet them.I turned back to look at Melanie and Jennifer. “How do I look?” I asked, suddenly feeling self-conscious. I was meeting my mates for crying out loud and I was wearing what I considered a plain dress.“You look decent. Now, go!” Melanie said, pushing me to walk back to the entrance. Just as she did that, the Triplets appeared looking left, then right until they spotted me.Time seemed to stand still as they stared at me. Then, as if in slow motion, they walked towards me. My heart raced the closer they came.'Mate,’ Cassey growled, excitedly.“Um…” I started to say but I was lost on words. They were here and I didn't know wha
Author's POV:It had been several weeks since the Triplets had attended to anything relating to the council. Their focus was on Mia and the council of wolves needed them to finalize decisions relating to their pack.Neither Jackson nor Jace, was in the right frame of mind to make any decision. Not even Jaxon himself. They were obsessed with finding their mate. Every waking hour was spent pondering where she had gone.It was almost like she had disappeared from the surface of the earth and it scared them to bits to think about it. What was worse was how Jaxon was feeling. After imagining the scent of her at that cottage, he seemed to have lost all the qualities that pointed him out as the leader of the Triplets. He still thought about that cottage but he had been wrong. He knew that she wasn't the one but his heart had said that she was the one. It had confused him and overridden his sense of thinking. Jaxon began to doubt his judgment. If he wasn't sound enough to tell people apart, h
Mia’s POV:After they closed the store for the day, Glenda and I sat with cups of coffee. The sun had set a long time ago and the stars were out.“So that's one of the legendary Triplets who's your mate?” Glenda asked after she had taken a sip.MiIa nodded. “I’m still surprised that he didn't recognize me.” The thought gave her some semblance of peace. She would never be found here unless she wanted them to.But thinking that Jaxon must have been searching for me, broke my heart a little. He didn't look that good and there was a hint of a shadow under his eyes. Something was stressing him. Before he left the cottage, he had asked me where the nearest gas station was. I didn't know so Glenda had to come talk to him.‘Can you see how much he wants you?’ Cassey asked, finally speaking up after such a long time. I expected her to be agitated and to pressure me to go back. But strangely, she had been at peace. I attributed it to the magic of this place.Glenda hummed a response. “Your coff
Author's POV:Jackson flipped the desk, shattering it against the wall with a growl. There were claw marks on the walls as well. “Where is she?!” He growled furiously.Jaxon sat there, his legs crossed, watching the scene unfold. The longer they were away from Mia, the more they went insane. With each passing day, Jaxon was growing obsessed with finding her. Initially, he had been wary of her.She had been so powerful to make each of his brothers lose control of their senses. He was always the calm and collected one but the moment he had found her, he had felt this animalistic side of him come alive. He wasn't as excited to find a mate anymore if this was the power she had over him.Jackson on the other end was furious. He grew angrier and angrier every day. Angry at the wolves who couldn't find Mia and angry at her for running away. All that anger was finally causing him to burst.Neither Jace nor Jaxon stopped him from tearing through this room.Jace was sulking with a broken heart.
Author's POV:It had already been a week. Jackson and Jace joined the search. They managed to track down her scent to the town two hours away but after that, her scent just vanished, like she never existed. It put the Triplets on edge. They created a reward for anyone who had information on Mia, thousands of dollars were offered up. The Alphas of smaller packs joined the search as well. They wanted to one-up each other and get on the Triplet's good side. They would do anything and now, their one chance was to find Mia.The Triplets didn't disclose why they wanted her. They figured that if their enemies found out that she was their mate, they would try to use her as a weakness.Every day, wolves reported back a futile search to them. It didn't matter how skilled they were, they couldn't find her.“Mia doesn't want to be found and she's doing a good job about it,” Jaxon said exasperated as he sat in his office with his brothers. Jackson and Jace had just returned from their search. Each
