Mia's POV:
I stood in front of the magnificent mansion, my heart pounding in my chest. The sight of the grand building before me was both awe-inspiring and intimidating.
As I stared at its towering structure, my hand tightly clutching the paper, a mix of emotions washed over me.
In my trembling hand, I held the pregnancy test that had changed my entire life. The paper, once a source of uncertainty and fear, now held the most precious news I could have ever imagined. It was positive.
My eyes filled with tears as I realized that my long-awaited dream of becoming a mother was finally coming true.
For so long, I had endured the pain of being mistreated and judged because I couldn't bear children.
The weight of those hurtful words and the longing for a child had burdened my soul. But now, right there in my hands, was the tangible proof that I had defied the odds.
As the tears streamed down my face, I couldn't help but feel a surge of joy and relief. It was as if the moon goddess had heard my pleas and granted me this precious gift.
All that was left, was to go in and tell Hudson about it.
*FLASHBACK*
A few hours back, when I had woken up in the pack hospital, I had tried to sit up and take in the sight of my surroundings.
But just when I was halfway to sitting up, the doctor came in and asked me to stay still.
I was confused by the sudden care as my injuries from earlier and the redness of my cheek had healed up.
So what could I possibly be careful about?
That was when he smiled excitedly and delivered the good news that I was a few weeks gone.
At first, I didn't understand what he meant by a few weeks gone.
But when I thought about the sentence properly, I connected two and two in my head and that was when the realization hit me like tons of brick.
I was pregnant!
My eyes watered instantly in joy and sadness.
I held on to my still flat stomach and cried bitterly.
The doctor asked me to stop as it wasn't good for the baby.
I laughed out loud as he said that.
If he knew the mistreatments I had to endure because I couldn't provide for this child, he wouldn't be this calm right now.
I was over the moon and I called out to Cassey who seemed unusually quiet again.
'Cassey, are you there?'
No response.
'Cassey, I'm pregnant'
No response.
I sighed and just let her be.
I turned to the doctor who still stood before me with a smile.
"Sir, when can I leave?"
He clicked his tongue and said, "Today, if you wish"
I nodded thankfully and informed him that I would like to leave today.
There was no need to stay any longer when I had such good news.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
I finally took a deep breath, my heart racing with excitement and nerves as I stepped into the mansion. The sound of my footsteps echoed through the hallways, amplifying the anticipation building within me.
I just wanted to find Hudson and share the incredible news of my pregnancy.
As I ventured into the courtyard where I thought he would be, the vibrant colors of the flowers and the gentle breeze couldn't distract me from my mission. I looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of his familiar figure.
But he wasn't there.
Today, he didn't always go to work and always stayed at home instead.
It was either he sat in the courtyard or he was relaxed in the living room.
I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment, but it was quickly replaced by determination.
With each passing room, I searched, my footsteps echoing in the silence. The grandeur of the mansion seemed to amplify my longing to find Hudson. I opened doors, my heart leaping with hope, only to be met with empty spaces and unanswered echoes again.
My mind raced with thoughts of where he could be at this time.
I couldn't shake the feeling that he must be nearby, just out of reach. So I made my way towards our bedroom, my steps quickening with a mix of excitement and worry.
As I entered the room, the soft glow of the light embraced me, casting a warm and comforting glow. But to my surprise, Hudson was not there. The emptiness of the room mirrored the growing emptiness within me. I couldn't understand why he wasn't here to share in this moment of joy.
I retraced my steps, searching every corner of the mansion. The study, the library, even the garden—I checked them all, hoping to find him hiding in plain sight. But he remained elusive, his absence becoming more perplexing with each passing moment.
Where could he be at this time?
Then I remembered, I hadn't checked his office.
I smiled and hurriedly made my way to his office to find him.
He would most definitely be there as he always worked in his home office whenever he didn't go to the packhouse.
It was a place where he sought solace, a sanctuary of thoughts and ideas. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I realized that's where he would most definitely be.
But just when I was getting closer to the door, I heard a few strange noises that I found very difficult to ignore.
It sounded like....groans and moans.
I suddenly began to overthink.
Begging myself to never believe what I was hearing.
Maybe it was a misunderstanding or something.
I shook my head in disbelief.
Hudson couldn't hurt me, right?
As I reached for the doorknob, a surge of emotions washed over me.
With a gentle push, the door swung open, revealing a tragic sight I had never expected to see in my entire life.
I felt my lips tremble, including my arms.
Because right on Hudson's table, a woman sat with legs wide open and his - Hudson's face was buried between her legs.
My blood ran cold as realization dawned on me.
Hudson was cheating on me?!
"Hudson!"

Mia's POV:I couldn't believe that I was sneaking into a high school. The police officer I'd taken with me didn't blare his sirens. He didn't want to alert Darlington and his friends before we came to grab them.We snuck in by climbing over the fence. We walked to the school gymnasium. Zayn was waiting outside. He showed us the secret entrance.“They're inside,” he whispered.“Go,” I said, “I don't want him to know that you work for me.”Zayn nodded. “You better give me a breakdown of what happens here when you get home, ‘Mom’.” He'd been teasing me since I got back, calling me mum. As were about to go from a family of three to a family of six. And including Melanie, oof.I walked into the place and heard them talking. “Darlington,” I called. He froze and when he turned, he saw that it was me and he deflated in his seat. “Fck.” He said. “I didn't think you would come.”“Of course you didn't.” The cop had given me handcuffs so, I went over and handcuffed Darlington. The cop arrested th
Author's POV:Mia's phone was buzzing. She turned under the sheets, looking for it. She found it on the bedside table. It was Zayn.“Shit.” She said, answering it. “Hey, Zayn? What's up?” she rubbed the stress off of her face, looking at the time.“What's up? I've been calling you for the past ten minutes.” Zayn said sounding annoyed.“I'm sorry. I got… distracted.” She said, just as Jaxon's hand rested on her waist. She didn't want her voice to give off whatever had just passed between her and Jaxon. “Did something happen?”“Did something happen? Really?” he repeated incredulously. “Oh, I don't know. You sent me to go after your new golden mentee and now I'm here to tell you that they found a secret locker room and they're doing crack.”“What?” I shrieked, sitting up. Jaxon was alert next to me. “Are you serious?” I couldn't believe that he was doing drugs. That was harder to control.“Well, no. Because I don't know what they're doing right now since I'm stuck outside. Unless you wa

Author's POV:For the next few days, Mia and William got to know each other. Mia's door was no longer locked and she could roam around the building for as long as she wanted. She found out that this used to be the old pack house. It explained the many rooms. But, what she didn't understand was the fact that there were so many hallways. The packed house was built more like a maze than a shelter. It was easy to get turned around in a place like this.William wasn't that bad now that they were getting to know each other as siblings. William expressed his regrets for trying to separate her from her mates. Mia told him that mistakes happened and it was fine as long as he atoned for it.He reintroduced Mia to everyone in the pack as his long-lost sister. Author's POV:It had been five days since Mia last saw William. Five days since he tore open her blouse and stumbled out of the room. She didn't know what had made him back off but she thanked the goddess that he'd left. What worried her now was when he would be back for another ‘taste.’She walked over to the window and looked outside. There had to be a way for her to escape. Maybe she could somehow break the bars. But she knew it would be impossible. Even if she managed to break the bars, she could jump from the second floor. Not in her condition. She put a hand over her stomach. She needed to get out of her to safeguard her baby. What if William decided that he wanted to get rid of the baby? What would she do then? The door unlocked and Mia turned sharply to look at it. She caught his scent before she saw him.
