Pain in the Head
Lee and the two men vanished for a bit before the next step of training was to go underway. I had wondered where they had gone but after a moment, I sensed something I wasn't expecting to ever feel wash over my mind.
"Ah, Lee cannot block me out, just as you cannot," Rakesh explained with amusement. After sharing a rather desperate kiss, Rakesh pulled away from me and let out a heavy sigh. I knew he was worried, but sooner or later we would run into his sister to save my parents. I stepped into the small convenience shop and began to gather a few bits and pieces to snack on. It was quite empty at this time of the morning and the overnight staff looked like they wished to be anywhere else except here. I had a summer job as a kid and knew that feeling so well. I hoped to be in and out quickly so that they could go back to spacing out, or stocking shelves, or whatever they had been doing before I entered.I grabbed some crisps, a chocolate bar and a sandwich as well as a pack of sweets and mints to enjoy while walking around on our travels. The morning birds were chirping around us loudly. I hadn't moved from the ground where I had fallen after Eris had struck me down with the back of her hand. It felt like hours had passed by the time I woke up again. I had no other strange dreams and DJay had been rather kind during our little chats and had made sure that I was well taken care of and anything I needed was offered to me during my containment.
