Jared held my hand and entered the elevator, pressing the button for the sixteenth floor. My heart gave a jolt— on the sixteenth floor, that's exactly where Jewel group had reserved an entire floor.

He looked at me and even took out a tissue to wipe my face, "The weather is so cold, yet you're sweating. Did I make you wear too much? I apologize if so, but I'm still worried that you might feel cold.

Please bear with it a little, once we arrive, we can take off these burdens, okay?"

Was I feeling hot? I was breaking out in cold sweat!

What else could I say? I couldn't say anything, I could only stare at him stiffly, my gaze trying to communicate my discontent and anger. But I suppose he wouldn't be able to see it, as I was behind a pair of oversized sunglasses.

His attitude towards me was always calm and gentle. It seemed like he was not forcing me, but rather acting like a loving boyfriend, taking his girlfriend to a merry dance party.

Following such a man, I felt a wave of panic. Th

I indeed needed to purchase a new phone, so, without much thought, I got out of the car. However, I did not take the hand he extended to help me. I smiled at him and walked around him, heading towards the mall.He didn't seem to mind and accompanied me inside. The mall wasn't crowded, and I wasn't in the mood to select a particular model. I just picked out the same model of the phone I used to have. As I was just about to pay, Mr. Earhart had already handed over his platinum card. When I looked at him in surprise, he once again displayed his warm, gentle smile and said:"I never make the woman I accompany spend a penny. Even if we’re just passing acquaintances."I held my bank card, not knowing whether to withdraw it or hand it over. Eventually, at the urging of the employee, "Miss, when you go shopping, your boyfriend should pay for you. Don't be a stranger to your boyfriend, they all care about face."I could only embarrassingly retract it: "This isn't right, shall I treat you to

It was only once Mr. Earhart left the room did I finally breathed a sigh of relief. This man, though seemingly gentle and polite, exuded a distinct air of unwelcome. More disturbingly, I felt a hint of murderous intent in his demeanor. This was the kind of dark aura that only those who had taken many lives possessed.Could it be fatigue making me hallucinate? How could a gentleman who enjoyed coffee possibly possess such a bloodthirsty aura?It must be an illusion, probably my mind playing tricks on me due to the stressful battle I had with Jared, while with Kent.Yes, that must be it.Rubbing my eyes, I felt fatigue washing over me. I laid back on the bed but stared blankly at the ceiling. My mind was filled with fragments of images and information I couldn't consolidate into a definite concept.I wondered, ever since I impulsively left the hotel if Kent was looking for me everywhere. Was he panic-stricken?Had Jared been caught yet?As for me... after two days of rest, recalling m

When our tender lips pressed tightly together, my heart plunged with him, and tears uncontrollably slid down once again. But just when everything was nearing completion and it was more than I could bear, he suddenly came to a halt.He held my trembling hand tightly in his, hoarsely saying to me:"Sam, I have once taken advantage of you without control, I don’t want to behave like a brute a second time. If you are unwilling, I... can endure.""Hush, don’t speak."I embraced him again, taking the initiative to press him onto the bed. Our hazy gazes met, like the encounter of dry wood and a fierce flame.Sinking, no revival. That night, I spent a long time with him until he fell asleep fatigued. Only then did I clumsily pack up my luggage and leave the hotel.I still found it hard to believe his explanation, that he was "afraid I would leave him and hence chose not to tell me." This explanation in my heart was so fragile that it could not withstand a blow.I felt so desperate, as though

Jared ran away, while Hailey was taken away by the police. All the officers ran after him, leaving just me and Kent alone in the room. His shoulder was merely grazed by a bullet, with no bullets lodged in his flesh. The hotel emergency doctor pleaded with him to go to the hospital, but he refused. After receiving minimal treatment, he stayed. And I, throughout the thrilling situation, began to regain my composure. He sighed, sat next to me, and reached out to hold me. I instinctively tensed up. I wanted to push him away actually, but I became soft-hearted at the thought of how he risked his life throwing himself in front of me to block bullets. However, my instinctive refusal still alerted him about my state of mind. He squinted his eyes, asking, "What did you hear just now?"I slowly looked up at him, "I heard everything since you guys walked in. Kent, they just said, that back on the ship at the Long's, it was you who violated me. Is it true?"I felt a heart-wrenching pain, yet I

As soon as Jared's arrogant and provocative words were spoken, Kent swung a harsh punch towards Jared's face."Why on earth aren't you dead yet?"As before, he had no strength to fight back in the face of Kent, reduced to nothing more than a punching bag tormented by Kent’s fury. Despite being beaten to a pulp, he maintained an eerily calm expression, a bizarre smile gracing his lips.He even found time to provoke him:"Even if you kill me now, you can’t erase your past - paying for one night with Sam. You knew it was her from the start, and even more, she is my wife. You deliberately approached her, flirted with her, slept with her - everything you did was founded on retaliation against me. You have never loved her.""Shut up, just shut up.""Heh, so you dare to act but cannot face the consequences?""I told you to shut up!"However, this one-sided beating didn't last long, I couldn't resist stepping in, finally shielding Jared, and coldly shouting at Kent, "Enough."Counting, this

So, he relaxed his hold on the door, allowing Hailey to step inside. Walking over to the liquor cabinet, he fetched a bottle of red wine, poured it into a glass, and casually took a sip. Like a snake, Hailey slithered closer, grabbing a wine glass and pouring herself a serving."Say it, what do you want?" he asked."I want you to divorce Sam and marry me," she declared."Anything but that," he retorted."Well then, you don’t have to divorce her. But I want you to hold a wedding ceremony with me," she said."Hailey,"Kent’s eyes narrowed dangerously at this. Though his calling of her name was barely a rumble, the threat it contained was unmistakable. Yet she cared little for it. Instead, she wrapped her arms around him, insouciantly gracing her hands over his chest. As she nestled her head on his back, she said in an overly sweet voice,"I'm willing to grant you an opportunity to provide her a reasonable excuse. Let it allow her to leave this city, be it for traveling or visiting her
