CHAPTER 17

She felt the soft bed of grasses under her feet despite her thick sneakers. As she landed on the ground, she left one end of the rope and started to pull the other end. Soon she pulled the entire rope down and arranged it in circles to make a thick bunch. She hung it on her shoulders and looked at her watch. It was 3.30 am already. Olivia frowned! She has taken already a lot of time and now she has to hurry, else she won’t be able to go far before the monster captures her again.

Olivia slowly crawled on the ground towards the boundary of the wall. She has to crawl a few feet just to ensure nobody can see her, by chance. Then she would run to the boundary wall. She kept crawling like a snack and with even a soft sound of a leaf or that of a bird waking up, she would lie down still on her chest.
