Chapter Two (Part Two)

She finished her shower and dressed in a pair of black leggings and a grey tank top. She pulled her hair up in a high pony-tail and walked down to Myra and Jillian who rushed her out of the house.

Justin was driving since Will and Ethan didn’t like them going out alone, even if it was still on pack lands. Normally Jordyn was fine being escorted out shopping, but Justin had a few too many drinks about a week ago and made a ton of advances on her, begging her to choose him as a mate. It didn’t bother her much, but it definitely made the whole trip awkward.

The sun was already close to retreating back into its hiding spot, probably about three more hours before the sun started setting behind the mountain. Jordyn could smell the barbecues firing up for dinner and she knew that the pack was serious about celebrating her Alpha ceremony for the entire weekend. She carried her shopping bags up to her room and just tossed them in the closet, hearing Ethan come through their mindlink.

‘Alpha, Will and I took care of all your paperwork and made sure that the rest of the coronation is ready for tomorrow.’

‘Thanks Ethan. I’m going for a run.’

‘Alpha, we still haven’t found those other wolves yet.’

‘I’ll stay in pack territory.’

‘I’ll let the patrol know.’

Jordyn closed the mindlink and walked back down the stairs, faking a smile to Jillian and Myra. “I’m going for a run.”

“It’s girls night.” Myra protested.

“I’ll be back before the barbecue and we can watch movies until we all pass out, I just need to go for a run, I won’t be long.” Jordyn promised as she took her clothes off, shifting quickly.

She ran out the back door until she got to the river that separated her pack lands from blue river’s. She laid down just staring at the river as she usually did, contemplating if she should just choose Justin as a mate.

Her pack would definitely benefit from her having a mate and a male to help lead the pack, but she had never thought about choosing a mate, she always just figured she was meant to be alone after Sebastian’s rejection. Justin wasn’t unattractive, he was tall, muscular, with dirty-dishwater blond hair and a tan that almost never faded. Most females would be happy to be with him, but she never thought of him as more than part of the family,, and she had never thought of just choosing a mate. As the sky darkened a shade and the clouds had started to change to that golden color they usually do, she realized that she needed to get back. As she stood she caught a heavy scent of pine and was quickly startled by a low growl.
