Zoey's POV

“What,” I spoke in disbelief, not able to believe what I had just heard. “What are you saying?” I asked again, and the doctor nodded. “Yes, Zoey, we are in 2022 and not 2015. I think seven years of your memory are gone.” He amended, and my eyes widened. “How…” I stuttered in shock. “Is that possible?” I questioned in disbelief, and the doctor took a deep breath before looking up at me with a pitiful look. For some strange reason, I hated the way he was staring at me so pitifully.

“You have to calm down so I can explain everything to you,” the doctor pleaded, but I shook my head and shifted my attention to the strange man who had been oddly quiet all this while. His eyes held so many emotions, but the one that stood out vividly was pain and worry, though they weren't for himself; they were for me. “Can you please calm down?” the stranger spoke for the first time, and I could bet that was the first time I'm hearing his voice, aside from the dream.
