Zoey's POV

They were talking so heartily at the dinner table. Even Jaya had joined them too, leaving me feeling like an outcast. With a frown, I forced the food I was chewing down my throat. Despite my anger, I could taste that her food was well-cooked and delicious.

“Well, you cook more than her,” my wolf comforted me while I just rolled my eyes and continued eating as I watched Alpha Ethan and Sandra talk so happily with each other. “That's a lie; you told me it's outside, when I got there I saw nothing.” Sandra pouted, and Alpha Ethan laughed loudly while Jaya followed them. My mind was so preoccupied with thoughts that I had no idea what they were saying.

“Jaya, darling, do you know that when I got outside, I saw nothing? Your father tricked me,” Sandra complained like a little child, causing Jaya to laugh more.

Feeling left out, I looked at the three at the table; they looked so happy without me. It seemed like I was invisible in their midst. A painful gulp passed down my throat
