Chapter Three

AEYRAH

“I can’t believe I’m going to admit that I actually missed this place.” I said as my mother led me into my old room. And no, it didn’t look the same. I could see the signs of renovations that had been done all around the house. “Where is my beautiful bed, mum?” I asked as I looked at the huge king-sized bed that now replaced my old bed. Not that I didn’t like it, but I had loved my old bed so much I had actually been looking forward to it.

My mother waved me off. “Oh, your dad had that given away to Maryah’s daughter a long time ago.”

Oh.

I put it at the back of my mind to visit my cousin’s room so I could catch a glimpse of my beloved bed. “Maryah? Where is she?” I asked. There wasn’t a lot of gab between I and my cousin, just three years, but she had been really shy all those years ago, keeping to herself most of the time. It had made us a little bit distant from each other, even if we only had each other to rely on for friendship.

As I remembered it, I felt bad for leaving her completely alone, but after what had happened eight years ago, I hadn’t had any other choice, but to run and leave everyone behind. Although I hadn’t expected to come back ever again.

“Do you mean my sister, Maryah? Or you mean her daughter, Maryah?” My mum asked, folding her arm across her chest.

“Okay, both. Although I had been asking after my cousin.” Sometimes I wondered why my aunt had named her daughter after herself. It hand been cute at first, until my cousin had grown and then the confusion had begun. Each person had refused to shorten her name for the other. And then it had gotten funny when they both answered at the same time.

My mum laughed. “I know. She’s fine. She supposed to be here, but I guess she has gone out.” She shrugged and started to place my things in the closet. I tried to help but she just nudged me away. “Go sit down somewhere. You must be tired from your journey.”

I didn’t feel tired, but there was no use arguing with my mother. “Wait! Maryah now goes out?” To say I was surprised was to say the least. I guessed people really changed when they grew up.

“Oh you haven’t seen anything yet. Wait till she comes back, then you can see for yourself. I won’t even say anything.” She gave me a mischievous smile and tucked my things away into the closet. Which was not so hard since everything was folded neatly into my bag. I never missed that.

We continued to talk about random things as she went about with her arrangement. “Okay, that’s that for now. I would call you when dinner is ready.” She came to sit by me and placed her hand on my cheek. “I’m so happy you are here.” She said, and leaned forward to place a kiss on my forehead. Yonaiah, my mother, was tall, but I was taller, standing at five feet and eleven inches.

“I’m happy too.” I held her hand and squeezed lightly. “ I guess I’d be seeing father at dinner then?” There was no need to ask, because I knew my father’s everyday routine. Ishak, my father, left home early every morning, just after breakfast, and came back just before dinner. That was his daily routine as the head of Lakewood council. It was really rare to see him at home in the afternoons.

“You know the answer to that already. Get some tests girl, I’ll come wake you up later.” With that, she left, leaving me alone in my childhood room.

I sighed and started to remove my clothes, when something hit me. Not directly, but I could feel the force of it. I blinked once, channeling my senses so I could see what it was. I very light haze of gree surrounded me, then disappeared in seconds.

What was that?

I tried to look again, but I couldn’t see it anymore. It was completely gone. Like it had never been there in the first place.

I frowned as I tried to think about what had just occurred, deciding in the end that it was just because someone had not lived inside my room for a while.

I shrugged and continued to remove my clothes, carefully folding them into the hamper for dirty clothes. Sometimes I got irritated by how much of an extremely tidy person I was. But it was written in my DNA, and I couldn’t change that.

Once I was finished, I stepped into the bathroom, going straight to the shower. It was renovated, a beautiful glass shower, which I instantly fell in love with. I loved skincare so much that when I saw the cucumbers on the dressing table, I rushed over, taking two slices and put them over my eyes. I sighed at the sensations they sent and since I didn’t need to really look to know where the door of the shower stall was due to my witches sense, I headed for the door with the cucumber over my eyes.

I just opened the door and stepped inside, not even taking much notice of my surroundings, well, until I felt a presence behind me.

I got ready to let out a loud scream but a hand closed my mouth, instantly shutting me up.

What the hell!

LARKXE

I held the very naked woman in my hands, one arm over her mouth and the other just around her very soft stomach. I had been taking a shower when she had entered. Whoever she was, I couldn’t even see her because of the soap that was almost a blinding me.

But even if I couldn’t see her, I could feel her.

And damn if she didn’t see so wonderful.

But she was squirming seriously in my arm, and I could smell a certain aura about her. One that I could only smell on a…

Oh shit!

“Listen, there has been a misunderstanding in here. I’m going to let go of you, and please promise me you are not going to scream.” I had to speak quickly, just to calm her down. Moon clan witches were not ones to mess with, and I certainly didn’t want to mess with this one.

But there was something about her. Her aura seemed a little bit suppressed, like she was hiding or….urgh..I didn’t know what to think.

She nodded. Her back was to me. I knew, because my hands had brushed against the underside of her very lush breasts. I had to calm the raging wolf in me, who had been unsettled dm for a while now which was the reason I was inside the bathroom in the first place.

I let go of her, and instantly felt loss as she immediately rushed out of the bathroom. I wiped my face aggressively and opened my very sore eyes. She was gone.

Fuck!

She had to be in that room. I moved, but a voice stopped me.

“Stop right there!” Her voice was sweet and calm, but there was a sternness to it that made me halt. “I’m going to pretend like this never happened. Even if I don’t understand how you came to be in my bathroom. I don’t even want to know. You can finish your bath and be on your way.”

“Wait_” I tried to explain, trying to bear the burn in my eyes, but she cut me off.

“Please just shut the fuck up.” I knew the exact time she left the room. The slam of the door that came after was just an added bonus.

Whoever she was, I didn’t want to see her. Gosh! So fucking rude!

But my wolf disagreed with me when I decided I didn’t want to see her again. And I knew why, the moment I looked down.

I was hard as rock!
