Three

The day went pretty fast for me. I didn't miss the training but I was excused in performing because of my condition. Before I knew it, it was almost time for the last meal of the day.

Ana went on first because she had to get to the chicken which is her favourite and I was left here because I am still trying to find my nameplate. We always wore this sweatpants and loose shirt that were both grey. But we always have to have the nametags with us.

"Found it," I muttered and tried to reach and grab it under my bed.

I pinned it to my shirt and wipe my sweat. I got out of the room.

Whoa.

The halls were empty and it's the first time I saw it. The pale white floor and the grey walls looks like a prison without anyone roaming in it. Luckily, the pin lights were on and it makes the place much brighter. I'm such a deep sleeper so I didn't get to go outside at night and besides, we have a curfew.

I head towards the hall and go to the end of the line after getting trays.

There is also one strict rule aside from the curfew.

We aren't allowed to fight. No trainees in here have misunderstanding or anything. And to avoid that, higher level students tend not to socialize with lower or other levels.

I finally received my food and went out to our table. Ana's almost half finish with her food and IT IS SUSPICIOUS.

She's a food warrior. She would literally eat everything even if she's alone.

"What's wrong?" I immediately asked her with a very worried tone.

"Nothing, I just feel like the food tastes weird," she said.

My forehead creased and i sat down immediately and dig in to my own.

"There's nothing wrong with it," I stated.

But she doesn't seem to be convinced. She didn't moved her food. So I hurriedly finished mine and dig in to some of hers to know what the difference is.

There nothing wrong. No weird smell or taste. Doesn't seem like it’s expired.

"There nothing wrong, our food tastes the same," I said.

"Nah. After getting out of the experimental room, I was so hungry and excited to eat but then i got served with this" she sadly said like she's about to tear up.

"Just drink your milk so you won't be hungry all night," I advised her.

She just nodded and stands up to put her tray back still looking disappointed. I suddenly felt sad for her. She must have had a stomach problem. She always enjoys every food here and she always treats them like they're the best thing.

I smiled at her and tried to cheer her up as she lined up to the line to get her milk. I stand up and about to put my tray back when i collided with a wall and got out of balanced.

My body were automatically threw up and the tray i was holding flew like it has wings because of how strong the impact was.

There's a wall there?!

I confusedly and furiously looked up only to find out that it wasn't a wall. It’s the man on the end of the line!

He just looked at me. I was about to stand up when I suddenly felt dizzy and everyone seems to flutter. It only took me a blink and then everyone was back into normal again.

He bent down on his knees and pick up my tray.

He handed me the tray and after that, he was just gone.

I looked around only to realize that almost everybody is gone and it’s just me who’s not yet drinking my milk. I hurried up to put my tray back and go to the counter where my milk is.

It is required for us to drink our milk because there is no sunlight here and without it, we would not have enough nutrition for our body.

I was about to drink it when i suddenly remembered the man earlier. He looks familiar but I just can't point where I’ve seen him actually.

I tried to remember if i saw him on the line earlier or if he drank his milk but I couldn’t.

"Maybe because he did not," I muttered.

But that is not even allowed.

I looked at my hands where i hold the glass of milk and tilted it. And there I saw something.

It's almost the same colour of milk but it looks like it's a powder left undissolved.

I looked around and saw the cameras.

I suddenly felt the chest pain again that the glass slipped through my hands and right after I heard the glass broke, I fell on my knees.

I cannot move and I can’t open my eyes!

Fear crept through me as I lie there half-conscious but unable to move

There was a complete silence but as I expected, minutes later, there were people rushing towards me and lifted me. After a few minutes, I felt myself in a cold room and being take down on a soft mattress.

It smells like my room.

"She also passed out the other day. Just leave her be. She drank the milk."

Scat. That's Scat.

I stayed unmoving for almost half an hour before I was sure that no one was there anymore and i slowly lifted my eyes open but the chest pain is not going anywhere. I didn't know what happened next but I knew that I fell asleep despite of the pain.

On the middle of the night, I woke up feeling so thirsty.

This is the first time that as far as I could remember that I woke up at night and it makes me feel uneasy.

There was a complete silence that I could almost hear my breathing.

I stood up and go to Ana's side where she is already asleep.

"Ana," I whispered.

She didn’t wake up. She didn’t even whimper.

I tried to slap her and tickle her but there was no use.

My eyes went wide but I saw her chest going up and down and I almost had a heart attack for a split second because i though she's dead.

"Then why won't she wake up?" I whispered.

What is happening?
