Two

"Psst!"

Is someone calling me?

"Agi!"

"Huh?"

I blinked and went back to reality when i realized that it was Ana whose calling me.

"What?" i asked her

She stands up in her bed which just next right to mine and sat beside me.

"Why are you dazing off?" she asked with a concern tone

"Just about earlier," I trailed

"I'm not comfortable with the idea," I confronted her

"About the underdeveloped ones?" she asked as if making sure

"Yeah."

"I'm not a genius about human bodies but one thing i know is it's dangerous to force the body to that kind of drug. Why are they doing this now?" I whispered to her carefully making sure no one can hear me

"Because they are in need of more manpower in Society One?" she guessed

"Or maybe because we're running out of supplies?" I tilted my head to show that I don’t agree to what she just said.

"That's impossible, Ana. If they need manpower, they would build more AIs and there small possibility of the latter but they can also modify our foods to reproduce them," I paused.

"So there's no reason to rush this," I whispered

"Maybe something happened in the Society One?" Ana gasped.

Maybe.

We snapped back at reality when we saw Level 15 boys coming out of the experimental room.

"All of them are developed already, they're on the line for graduation," Ana said.

I looked at her and saw the envy and fear in her eye.

"You know I am not going to graduate until you're here," I sincerely said

She looked at me shocked but then forced a smile.

"I won't drag you down with me," she chuckled

"I'm just going to try my best to react on Silver."

I smiled at her.

That's when i realized that she called the drug by its name which is so rare because we don't always call it by its name.

"We have to get to the next class," she hurriedly said

I put my hair on a ponytail because i don't want it messing with my face and head out for the door right behind Ana.

We reached one of the rooms and sat down beside each other. Soon after some time, one of our instructors came in and starts a new lesson.

"So, we're done with our lesson for this society. We can have a little review and then we can proceed to further details about Society One."

Unconsciously and out of nowhere i turned my gaze outside but as usual, it’s just pitch dark and nothing more.

"Decades have past and we survived down here after the airborne virus swept the earth forcing us to be here. Our ancestors have given up trying to find where it came from, what caused it and how it can be cured. Through our bright minds, we managed to survive here and we will until we are strong enough to try to go up there. And until we're not, we are preparing you," he smiled and looked at us

"Our future generation, so you can help us survive."

I tried to look around and saw that all of the students here are intently listening. I drew my eyes back to the front.

Our instructor started his lesson by opening his holographic screen and showed us a place. Tall buildings are everywhere, there were bushes but no trees, waters and all of the structures are either silver or white.

"This," he paused and pointed at the hologram, "is Society One."

I felt my body tensed up and my attention went to the hologram, undivided.

"This is where your life begins. This where you would apply your role and apply all your trainings to be an essential person there."

Family.

That's my only purpose of getting graduated from this place and being transferred into Society One. I never knew them but they always hold a special place in my heart.

"The council decided that younger ones would be taken and trained for solely one purpose. Save our future," he declared making most of my classmates smile.

I suddenly felt a lump in my throat, i was about to ignore it but when i felt dizzy, i clasp my hands on the edge of the table. I tried gasping for air but i couldn't get even just an ounce. I waved my hands above making sure everyone can see it.

It's so heavy. Something's in my chest.

I saw our instructors came forward but i felt an urge and suddenly raised my hands making everything around me to collapse. After that, i couldn't see anything but darkness.

I'm breathing.

I gasped for air and woke up. I automatically sat down but a wave of nausea flooded and i was forced to lay down because of dizziness.

"Hey."

I turn my gaze and automatically saw Ana in the right side of the bed looking so worried.

"W-what happened?" I stuttered.

I felt the dryness scratch through my throat and tried to reach the glass of water on the table, luckily, Ana came to the rescue and helped me drink the water by supporting my back.

I heaved a deep sigh after finishing the whole glass.

Ana puts it down and sat back to the chair beside me.

"You passed out. The results are on their way," she informed me.

"Did i hurt anyone?" I worriedly asked

"No. Of course not! You didn't hit anyone," she assured me while still having the soft expression she always have,

"You missed the training though, but you can still make up for it tomorrow."

I sighed.

The door flew open and our instructor came in, which as far as i can remember, his name is Scat, who is about in his 30's together with the nurse and head directly towards us.

"You had over fatigue," the nurse stated

I looked over to Scat and flew my eyes back to the nurse.

"What about the chest pain? I can't breathe earlier," I asked her

"There were no recorded series of chest pain in your results. You also vomited the milk which could be the reason why you can't breathe. All in all, there nothing really wrong. You just need to rest."

I was about to ask the nurse but she went out immediately. Scat just smiled and said 'rest well' before leaving the two of us in the room.

"That was weird," Ana murmured.

"Yeah."

Something's going on.
