Chapter 12

Jenna's POV

A small knowing smile curved his lips. 

"Mmmhmm," He slowly stepped into my personal space, his hands finding my waist. "You remember I said I have many other reasons to marry you, Jenna?" 

My eyes lingered on his face as my breathing splintered. This wasn't happening. Tell me this wasn't happening!

We just agreed to marry for Jared. B-but marking me as his c-chosen mate. That's a big decision. 

An Alpha King taking a chosen mate after his destined mate died is not a simple event. It's about life and death, extreme loyalty and faith, about finding happiness and l-love.... Again. 

H-how can he even think about taking me— a woman rejected, abandoned and scorned by her first mate— as his chosen mate? 

"Jace, this is a huge mistake. You can't—" 

"Jenna," His hold on my waist tightened as that look of desire returned into his eyes. "The time we were together, everyday I learned something new about you. I love how you take care of our son and it makes me wonder... If you'll also love me like that."

"J-jace, you can't—" 

"I know it's very quick to say this, but I think I am falling for you, Jenna. And I'm not saying this because you're my son's mother. I'm saying this because I've felt something different around you. Something that made me realize that I want to keep you with me as more than our son's mother."

"Jenna," He joined our foreheads. "I know I'm not a very good man, but I promise to be loyal. I'll always be there for you. I will never make you feel like you're not enough for me. I'll never disappoint you. In return, there's only one thing I want from you— Can you also love me like you love Jared?"

My throat was tight and my eyes were streaming. Oh goddess, why was he saying all this? My heart wasn't strong enough to go through this again. It was still wounded. Still bleeding. Still in pieces after Chris' betrayal. 

Above all, I haven't yet taken my revenge on Chris. 

All this while, I've only been thinking about one thing— revenge. 

Marriage with the alpha king was a part of my big plan. But whatever Jace was saying, it made my chest swell with something like hope. Hope of being loved again. 

My wolf squeaked in ache as she ran back into the dark recesses of my mind. The thought of love terrified her. It terrified me too. 

However, Jace's next words were like an embrace and I couldn't stop myself from caressing his face. 

"I know you're still wounded, Jenna. But I'm nothing like Chris. I don't intend to break your already broken heart. I want to fix it."

"Oh, Jace," His name is all I could get past my thick throat.

"Be my mate, Jenna. Let me show you what a mate really is." He tilted his head as his lips glided down my ear, down to my neck.

I let out a moan in response when his lips touched me. Gianna was back out, her tail wagging and her mouth watering. There was a kind of fire that burned through me as well. The fire to want to claim this hot and handsome Alpha King before he claimed us.

Next, I did what no one would've expected— I sank my teeth into his neck and marked him.

He hissed but then he growled and pierced my neck with his teeth. The pain was cruel and dizzying. Very soon, it was replaced by a feeling of comfort and contentment. Something akin to belonging fluttered in my chest. I felt utterly drawn to Jace as the bond of our mating began to coil around us.

This thing was stronger than I had felt between me and Chris.

Then out of nowhere, a silvery light fell over us from above. We both peered up at the orangish sky. The beam of light was coming from between two clouds. 

"Wonderful! The moon goddess has blessed your bond, Alpha King and Luna Queen. You are now mates. You may now kiss your mate, Alpha King." My nerves quaked as the oracle happily beamed. 

Jace grinned happily before he dipped his head and caught my lips between his. Our connected lips sparked a current that electrified my being. I was happily responding to the kiss. We almost forgot we were not alone and were deepening the kiss.

Jace might as well have fed me his tongue if it wasn't for our son. He cried in Oakley's arms, making us pull apart. 

"I think he's hungry." He gave us an apologetic smile. 

I took Jared from him. He was desperately turning his head around, looking for my breast. I chuckled and pulled him close. Excusing myself, I took Jared back to the cottage. 

I was not far gone when I heard Oakley joke, "You'll have to wait for your turn, your majesty. That little brat will always satisfy his hunger first before he lets you satisfy yours."

"Shut the hell up, scoundrel." Jace muttered.

Smiling shyly, I came to our room. I unzipped my dress enough so it would allow me to pull it down and free one of my bréasts. I made Jared latch on and closed my eyes.

This feeling is the best— A child latching on to feed.

I could feel the heaviness reduce as my son's desperate noises quietened. He was calm in my arms. Fifteen minutes down, he was already falling asleep. 

When he was done, I raised him up and put his head on my shoulder. After two burps, he was sleeping in satisfaction.

"My gorgeous little pup." I kissed his forehead before wiping his mouth. Then I placed him in his cot and looked over my shoulder at the window.

The atmosphere was charged with sexual tension. Although the sky was dark and the lightning split the sky from time to time, the winds blew romantically. Amidst all this, my now husband and mate was wandering down there. Desperately. Angrily. Needily. For me. 

'Jace,' I connected with him on the link. 'Jared is asleep.'

'Hmmm.' Was his reply.

'I'm waiting for you.' No sooner have I said that than the door burst open as Jace stood there, his chest rising and falling while his eyes roamed all over my body.

A nervous heat ran through my body as I gulped hard. I have caught him looking at me with desires before. But this look was very raw, very hungry. 

It was the look of a man gazing at the woman he considers his wife. It seemed as though he was going to rip me apart. 

Dear heavens, give me the strength to go through this night with courage.

Jace's POV

Every ounce of energy and desire in my body pooled between my legs. My díck was stone hard and my balls were numb from all the pain. 

I took short but intimidating steps towards Jenna. She was taking long breaths. Her face was unusually calm but she was digging her nails in her palms, indicating she was nervous like hell from within. 

"I was unable to describe how stunning you're looking in this gown. But there's something that's making my blood boil." My fingers found her waist as I tilted my head to observe her face up this close. 

Her skin is flawless. She's not too fair. Still, the pink collecting in her cheeks is clearly visible. Her eyes are oceanic blue with flecks of light blue like they're sparkling. Let's not talk about her lips because they're the softest-looking. When I kissed her after our bond was blessed by the moon goddess, I hadn't wanted to let go. 

She's got a sweet and soft mouth. I've kissed many women before but no one felt like this. Not even my destined mate felt like this. 

"What's making your blood boil?" She asked in a trembling, slow voice. 

"The fact that you dressed as a bride for someone else first." A breath burst over her lips as she exhaled loudly. 

My eyes stopped on her chest. She was wearing a sleeveless gown, showing a decent amount of her cleavage. But I've been going mad ever since I came to get her. She was a D-cup, and given that she was lactating, her breasts looked even fuller and more inviting

To be frank, I've wanted to touch her when she came to live with me after leaving Chris. And I also have a kinky fantasy... Which I'm about to fulfill now. 

She was silent as her lips trembled. Seeing them unlocked a beast within me. With a grunt, I smashed my lips onto hers.
