Chapter 53

Jace's POV

"Jenna," I began to take a step towards her, but she lifted her top.

I froze in my tracks. Sorrow troweled its way into my soul because the skin on her abdomen was bruised and bleeding. There were marks like someone claws into her skin to rip it apart.

However, it wasn't any creature who did it.

It was done by the pain of betrayal.

The pain she felt when Liza was all over my body, licking, kissing, and sücking me.

Jenna's POV

Jace was only draped in a thin sheet around his hips. There was a hîckey on his neck right where our mating mark rested. Lipstick marks were smeared all over his chest and jaw.

"Jenna—"

"What I fear happened, Jace. You..." I removed my hand from my belly to point at Liza. "She won. She had you back."

"She didn't." He tried to come towards me.

I moved back and gestured to his chest, "It's right in front of my eyes. What else is there to see— her saliva on your dïck?"

"Jenna, please believe me. I was not in my senses. I thought you left and I looked for you everywhere. I just came back after hours when I couldn't find you. I was lying there in bed and she just quietly slipped in while I was trying to deal with the pain."

I scoffed as tears dribbled out of my eyes. My abdomen was numb since the pain was so intense. It hurt more because it took place under the same roof as I was in.

I hadn't left after storming out of our room. I wanted to, but I was dizzy. I hadn't eaten anything from Chris' pack when I was there. My food was only the liquid Pluto brought to me, like juices.

Not that I could dare to leave! Marriage is not a joke. It can't be broken over a hurtful argument. Sure, what Jace said hit like a dart. But I had seen his eyes change. I knew his wolf had said those words. I'd picked the edginess in his voice he spoke.

I couldn't just punish us for what a historic beast spurted in a state of rage.

Hence, I went to my study and blocked everyone out. I had some healthy snacks there, which I ate. Then I conked out without knowing that. I didn't worry about Jared either because I knew mom was there. Mom, Martha, and two young nannies.

I was having my beauty sleep when the pain started. The familiar contraction-like pain along with the feeling of someone drawing patterns on my skin with a sharp blade instead of pen. I knew what it was, and thus, I limped all my way from my study room to our bedroom, while holding my belly protectively.

Only to find what I feared to never see— Jake nâked with her.

"You were supposed to be gone, weren't you? What are you doing back here, bìtch?" Liza grumbled as she stood beside Jace, looping her arms around his.

Flinched at her touch. But he was so disoriented by my appearance that that's all he could do.

"I wanted to leave, but I couldn't." I said looking at her. Then I shifted my attention to Jace, "I thought I had a husband and son, who needed me. We are a family. We're meant to stay together until our end… And because of a whōre, why should I destroy my home? That's why I only went to my study room."

"You were in your study room?" He asked before clutching his forehead guiltily. "Of course. I never checked there first."

I watched the relief that spread over his face. I observed it carefully. He was honestly a fine piece of art. The creator did take long hours to make him.

My lips tugged up in a smile as I recalled all our good times. Jace had been a wonderful husband. That was until Liza was concerned. I am aware that he didn't want this to happen. But it's already done.

The feeling I was fearing to feel again... I woke up, screaming, feeling it.

"Keep the palace. Keep the crown. Keep everything." I began in my pain-smothered weak voice. "Keep our son and this whōre too, Jace... Because I'm leaving for good this time."

His face went pale.

"Just don't make him like you." I wiped my tears and limped back.

"Jenna—"

"Just let her go." Liza grabbed his arm to stop him.

I took this moment to transform and jumped down the window. I might be hurt and weak, I was fit enough to get away from here.

No, I didn't take one last look at my son this time, though the last time I did.

It's just going to hurt me. The pain of Jace's betrayal is already very excruciating. If I had gone to see Jared, his innocent face would've killed me.

I jumped the gates and ran as fast as I could. Oakley was calling after me. He was in the gardens when I left.

‘None of you follows me! It's your Luna Queen's command.’ I used my command on the guards that hastened to follow me.

Without looking back, I continued running faster and faster.

Within twenty minutes, I was out of Silent Hills city and on my way to enter the woods. It's part of Jace's kingdom, but on its other side is a highway that goes out to rogue territory.

That also comes under Jace's kingdom, but beyond that is an unnamed city, which is my destination. I've seen an abandoned cottage there. I'll take my shelter there for the time— aaahhh.

I cried in pain as my wolf let out loud animalistic noises. We were struck by something in the neck.

Since I was still dealing with the pain, Gianna willed herself to look down at her neck.

'A d-dart!'

'A dart?' I repeated in surprise as a quiet burn began to sweep inside the furs.

'Yes, Jenna. It's a dart. Someone hit us with it.' Gianna gasped as she prepared herself to run.

Unfortunately, some more darts came from all the sides. They hit us, the pain of the burn now spreading evenly throughout our body.

'Jenna, I'm sorry I can't run.'

Gianna collapsed on the ground. We were in the woods. Just slightly in the depth. These were for the kingdom's people to run in. So who dared to dart me?

As I was wondering that, two dirty boots came to my view. A slow breeze rolled over. It carried the smell of earth and other things, and a familiar scent.

Both, my and my wolf's, breaths hitched as we inhaled this scent. We battled against the pain to open our eyes and look at the person.

"Hello, ex-mate. Nice to meet you again." Chris waved a hand at me.

He was still very badly bruised. Last I knew, he was in the hospital getting treated. What was he doing here?

My wolf hollered in pain as he pushed the dark on the neck a little deeper.

"You came to play the nice Luna Queen to my pack, didn't you? I came here to thank you for that." He said and struck hard against my wolf's neck.

It sent a harrowing current up our neck straight to the brain. We both saw black and white blinking dots before everything descended into darkness.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
