View MoreIn Toronto, at 5 am, a woman slept peacefully in her bedroom. But her dreams were haunted by a disturbing scene. An 8-year-old girl, crying behind bushes in a remote area, watched in horror as her mother was brutally stabbed to death by a group of 10-12 men. As they went from scenes, the girl ran towards her mother, screaming.
While she was dreaming, the alarm clock rang, and the woman jolted awake, her face etched with tension, anger, and sadness. But she swiftly composed herself, taking a deep breath. She began her morning routine - exercises, cooking, and a refreshing bath. Just as she was about to leave the flat, her phone rang. Recognizing the caller's name, she answered and said in one go.
"Stop bothering me with silly issues. If I'm paying you, it's to handle things, not trouble me. Find a solution instead of calling me."
With that, she hung up, not waiting for a response.
She went down. And as she waited for her taxi near the apartment entrance, she noticed a family of three, a widowed mother and her two children, moving in that day. She observed their close bond, feeling a pang of longing.
The son, eager to start his first day at the main branch office, instructed his mother, "Mom, these men will help you and Blakely with the luggage and settling in. I have to leave for work."
As he walked away, he caught the woman's gaze. He smiled, but she quickly turned away, her expression unreadable. He felt a twinge of remorse, sensing he had somehow disturbed her.
With that, they parted ways - she into her taxi, he to his office.

Alex's eyes widened as he stood before the Thornfield Industries and Holdings building, a huge smile spreading across his face. His dream had finally come true. With a spring in his step, he entered the company and made his way to the meeting hall.
Inside, he was introduced to the team, and his eyes met Elara's once more. The manager's words echoed, "Mr. Alex, this is Ms.Elara , our HR representative in the Interior Department and the country's top interior designer."
Axel Extended a warm greeting, "Hello, Ms. Elara." But she merely nodded.
"Nice to work with you, Ms. Elara," Axel added, attempting to break the ice.
Elara's response was a fleeting smirk before she excused herself, leaving Axel Wondering.
The manager noticed Alex's curiosity and said, "Don't overthink it . Elara is reserved, calculative, and assertive. Her silence speaks more than her words."
After a while, they all left. Axel saw his cabin, the whole building, leaving the top 4 floors.
He left the office and headed home. In the parking area, he spotted Elara again, this time she was engaged in a quiet conversation with a mysterious person. They stood close, their faces lit by warm smiles.
Axel wondered, then shook off the thought, and went towards the left area and started to wait for the lift.
As Elara entered, he followed, greeting her with, "Hi, nice to see you again! What a coincidence, running into you all day."
Elara's response dripped with arrogance, "Everyone who works in this branch lives here, including the CEOs."
The lift stopped on the 9th floor, and Axel chuckled, "Another coincidence!"
As they exited, he asked, "Was that your boyfriend in the parking lot?"
Elara's glare was scary and questioning.
Axel clarified, "The guy you were talking to."
Elara remained silent, exiting the lift and disappearing into her flat.
Axelcalled after her, "I'll take that as a yes."
Elara , warning, "Mind your business, Mr."
She slammed the door shut.
Axel smiled wryly, "I live across from your flat, not inside it. Oh, God, please bless this poor woman."
Just then, his sister's voice interrupted, "Let God bless us first; come inside before I close the door!"
Axel entered, chuckling.
His sister asked, "What's got you smiling?"
Axel replied, "Just my lovely neighbor."
She raised an eyebrow.
Axel whispered, "Long story."
As he said, his mother asked what story he immediately started to tell about his day.
On the other hand, Elara got a call and she received it and said yes tell me
A man said “ ma'am, we have caught him. Come quickly.”
Elara, with a devilish smile, said “in 2 hours”.
The boardroom doors opened without announcement.Conversation faltered mid-sentence.Elara Thornfield stepped inside. The room was already full too full. Men who rarely shared the same space now occupied one long oval table, their presence deliberate, their alliance temporary but dangerous. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls reflected the city behind them, turning their silhouettes into distorted doubles. Power liked mirrors.Elara did not pause at the threshold. She walked in with measured steps, heels silent against polished marble, posture straight but unforced. Her suit was dark, understated, impeccably cut—authority without excess. She carried no files, no tablet, no visible armor. She didn’t need them.Eyes followed her.Charles Whitmore stopped whispering to Daniel Cross. Elliot Graves lowered his phone slowly, as if reminded that this moment required attention. Even Victor Lancaster straightened slightly in his cha
The city slept uneasily beneath a veil of mist, its skyline blurred like a lie told too often. From the floor-to-ceiling windows of her penthouse, Elara Thornfield watched the lights pulse, old, distant, obedient. The world always looked honest from this height. That was its greatest deception. She stood barefoot on marble, sleeves rolled past her elbows, dark hair pulled into a loose knot that spoke of intent rather than elegance. The room around her was silent except for the soft hum of encrypted servers hidden behind an art panel. No guards. No staff. This was where truth was stripped bare. The documents lay spread across the glass table.Original contracts. Filed copies. Bank guarantees. Digital scans. And one poisoned thread woven through them all.Elara picked up the first contract—the legitimate one. Her fingers traced the signature at the bottom. Clean. Confident. Axel’s hand had always been precise, pressure balanced, the final stroke sli
Axel’s pulse raced, but his mind was razor-sharp. The corridor was dim, the air thick with tension. He wasn’t about to let intimidation dictate his actions. These men had cornered him, thinking fear would do the work for them. They didn’t know him.As the first man stepped forward, Axel shifted his weight, every muscle coiled like a spring, ready for the slightest move. His eyes swept the corridor, taking note of shadows, doors, and possible escape routes.“Brave words,” the man sneered, stepping closer. “For someone who”Before he could finish, Axel lunged. His strike was precise, aimed at the shoulder, followed by a twist that sent the man stumbling into the wall with a thud. Pain and surprise flashed across the attacker’s face. The other men reacted instantly, but Axel was already moving. Years of training both physical and mental had prepared him for situations exactly like this. He ducked under a swing, pivoted, and used the attacker’s m
Axel left his office later that evening, the weight of the day still pressing on his shoulders. The building was quiet now, the hum of fluorescent lights and the soft buzz of the air conditioning the only sounds accompanying his steps. He checked his phone. No new messages. No urgent alerts. Just the same warning he had received earlier: “Be careful. They’re moving faster than you think.” He frowned. Who could have sent it? He didn’t recognize the number. Maybe one of the clerks, one of the junior staff trying to warn him. Or perhaps… someone with motives he couldn’t yet understand.. Shrugging off the unease, he made his way toward the materials storage room. The day’s evidence—documents, purchase records, contracts—was still there, and he wanted to double-check them himself. If someone had manipulated the board’s decision, he wanted to see it firsthand. He didn’t notice the subtle shift in the security cameras a
