~death~

Dragging my tired body back through the club's door, I made my way upstairs to my room until I bumped into a small figure.

Grumbling a sorry, I continued walking until I heard her voice.

"Good night, Death," her soft voice echoed along the stairway.

I stopped for a moment, glancing back at her. "Good night," I muttered, barely loud enough for her to hear. Without waiting for a response, I turned and kept walking.

Reaching my room, I shut the door behind me and leaned against it, closing my eyes. Her voice lingered in my mind, soft and gentle.

I sighed and pushed off the door, heading to my bed. As I lay down, exhaustion washed over me, but sleep didn't come easy. Her face and voice kept replaying in my mind.

"Focus, Death," I whispered to the empty room. I had to keep my distance, keep her safe from the darkness that clung to me.

The next day I woke up to banging on my door. I got up and made my way to the door, swinging it open, ready to cuss out the person on the other side.

"What the fuck is it?" I grumbled.

Jax stood there, frozen for a moment.

"Fucking speak," I stated.

Shaking himself out of his daze, he finally managed to say, "Prez wants to see you."

I nodded, closing the door in his face as I got ready. Heading toward the prez's door, I knocked once until I heard his gruff voice say, "Enter."

"You wanted to see me?"

"Yes," the prez stated. "I need you to do a job for me."

At that, my body tensed as I prepared to become what the club knows me by—Death. "What do you need me to do?" I asked, tuning out all other thoughts.

"What I'm about to tell you can't leave this room," the prez stated.

I nodded and waited for him to continue.

"My sister's in trouble."

At the mention of his sister, my body tensed further.

"It turns out her boyfriend was doing some illegal shit and had her helping. When she found out about it, she ran. Now her ex and his crew are after her, and probably the cartel too."

"Shit," I cursed under my breath.

The prez leaned forward, his eyes hard. "I need you to protect her, Death. You're the only one I trust with this."

Protect her. The words echoed in my mind, bringing with them a mix of dread. "What exactly are you asking?" I asked, my voice steady.

"Keep her safe. Handle anyone who comes after her. And find a way to end this," he said, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.

I nodded, "Understood."

The prez's eyes softened just a fraction. "I know this isn't easy, but I trust you."

I nodded again, turning to leave. "I'll take care of it," I said, my mind already shifting into gear. As I walked out of the office, I knew there was no room for error. Not with her life on the line.

But how was I going to protect her when all that went through my mind when it came to her was, "fuck her!" This was going to be a challenge.

As I made my way downstairs, I couldn't shake the conflicting thoughts. I had to stay professional and keep my head in the game. This wasn't just about my attraction to her; it was about her safety.

I found her in the main area, talking to Spider and Drifter. She looked up as I approached a mix of curiosity and apprehension in her eyes.

"Vick," I said, my voice gruff. "We need to talk."

She nodded, excusing herself from the conversation and following me to a quieter corner of the room.

"What's going on?" she asked, her voice tinged with worry.

"Your brother wants me to protect you," I said bluntly. "Things are going to get rough, and I need you to follow my lead. No arguments."

Her eyes widened slightly, but she nodded. "I understand."

"Good," I replied, trying to ignore the way my pulse quickened when she looked at me like that. "Stay close, and don't wander off. Got it?"

"Got it," she said, her voice steady.

I said, leading her away from the main area. This was going to be one hell of a challenge, but I had to stay focused. Her life depended on it.

~death~The guys all filed into the prez's office, their faces grim and focused. Prez stood at the head of the table, the envelope in hand."Ok, listen up," he shouted, his voice commanding attention. He placed the envelope on the table. "I just came upon some very important information."Everyone leaned in, eyes locked on the envelope."It seems my sis has been keeping some very important information hidden, probably so her ex wouldn't get it," Prez continued. "But we're going to use this information to find my sister."He opened the envelope, spreading the papers out on the table. "We're going to split up and search every building that's in this information. Kill anyone that gets in your way. Find out whatever you can until we find my fucking sister."I watched as everyone nodded, determination etched on their faces."Ok, let's ride," Prez shouted. Then he looked directly at me. "And Death—I mean the enforcer—I want you to be the ruthless person I know you to be."I swallowed hard a

~death~As I lay on the medical table, all I could think about was Vick. Every moment that passed felt like a dagger twisting in my chest. I couldn't take it anymore. With a groan, I tried to sit up, but Racket's firm hand pushed me back down."I can't stay here. I need to go find her," I insisted, my voice strained with desperation."How the hell are you going to find her if you bleed out? Sit down and let me patch you up!" Racket shouted, frustration and concern etched across his face. But I couldn't stay put. Every second wasted could be used to find her. Just as I was about to push past Racket, the door to the room swung open with a force that made the hinges creak."Sit the fuck down and let Racket do his job!" the prez shouted, his eyes blazing as he glared at me."Look, Prez, I can't. They captured Vick because of me. If I was paying attention, she wouldn't—"The prez cut me off with a sad, understanding look. "I know, Death. You did all you could to protect her. If Ironhead di

~vick~I coughed as someone threw cold water on me."Wake up, sleeping beauty," a voice I knew all too well sneered.I opened my eyes, squinting to adjust to my surroundings. I tried to move, but it was futile; I was tied to a chair. The dim light of the room revealed the gaunt, sharp features of Derick, my ex. His once handsome face was now twisted with cruelty, dark eyes glinting with malice. His hair was slicked back, a far cry from the disheveled look he used to have. A nasty scar ran down his cheek, a souvenir from one of his many fights."Well then, let's get started," Derick said, a sinister smile playing on his lips as he glared at me."What do you want, Derick?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. He stepped closer, his fingers trailing along my cheek in a mockery of affection before he slapped me hard. My head snapped to the side, the sting burning across my face."You think you can just run away from me? You think you can hide with your biker friends and be safe?" He c

~death~"Fuck, fuck, fuck," I muttered to myself, knowing I blew it moment Vick turned her back on me. Her fiery attitude caught me off guard, and I sighed heavily as I headed downstairs.Jen, one of the club whores, passed me and gave me a knowing look. "Oh, you fucked up big time, buddy," she said, shaking her head.I looked at her questioningly as I continued toward the bar. "What do you mean?"She rolled her eyes. "You think we didn't hear? This place is like a damn fishbowl. Everyone knows you and Vick had a thing we just kept it to ourselves and didn't tell the prez, and now it's all blown to hell. You should have seen her face when she came downstairs."I sighed again, rubbing my temples. "Yeah, well, it's complicated.""Doesn't have to be," she replied, leaning against the bar. "You like her, she likes you. Just stop being a dumbass and go after her.""It's not that simple," I said, pouring myself a drink. "Her brother, the situation with her ex... it's all fucked up."Jen shr

~Vicky~I couldn’t believe it. The way Death shot me down at the motel—my suggestion made perfect sense. After all, that no-good son of a bitch was after me, right? I shouted in my room, venting my frustration. After we came home this morning and had a good talking to from my brother, I hadn’t seen Death since. But oh my gosh, I squealed, thinking about the motel. I couldn’t believe it—me and Death. I blushed deeply, remembering every heated moment.Just then, I heard a knock on my door. “Hey Vick,” Death said, his voice muffled through the wood. “We need you in your brother’s office in a few.”I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. “Okay, I’ll be there,” I called back.I quickly changed into something more presentable and made my way to my brother’s office. My heart was pounding, both from the memories of last night and the uncertainty of what was about to happen. As I entered the office, I saw my brother sitting behind his desk, a serious expression on his face. ~death~As we headed inside, most of the guys were busy cleaning up or sitting at the bar. Vick was pissed as she stood there, waiting on her brother, while I was trying to keep a cool head. What Vick had suggested earlier was crazy."So where the fuck were you two? You had me going absolutely ballistic when everything was finally calm and I couldn't find you or my sister!" the prez shouted, looking at both me and Vick.I sighed and stated, "Well, your sister decided to take a walk in the middle of the chaos that happened yesterday without anyone noticing, and when I finally realized she was gone, I went looking for her."I watched as the prez turned his furious gaze toward his sister. "What the fuck were you thinking, Vick?" he demanded. "You know that was dangerous! Suppose Death didn't notice you were gone in time? You know your crazy ex is out there looking for you. Then what?"Vick turned her gaze towards her brother, her eyes filled with defiance. "You don't think I know that? I
