Bright green with somewhat white layout, a flat reflecting screen. And a man talking towards a screen with sweat on his face, in an air conditioning environment.
He advertised the shop's wares with so much intensity. Even the consumer would develop an affection.
Again and again and again, he tried his gift of tongue to make deals with potential customers, after making his departure known, he left his job. He entered a library styled Public House.
The Sun's rays were yet to hide when he entered the Grand Library. He met his friends, the old books, the faint lights and liquid capsule.
Allen later parted with his friends and glanced at the counter
"Thank you. With Acoustic protection, it's slightly better"
As usual the librarian didn't understand and just gave a puzzled laugh.
The cushion made a person forget the environment but still, he had to go, after one last look.
Afterwards, he entered the house by slipping an Identification card and entered a lit room in which the source of dim light was the moonlight seeping through the gaps in the curtains.
He passed by a bedroom in the house and saw his sister sleeping with her head on the table. He returned her to bed and continued upstairs to prepare. For a grueling test.
He passed or failed, he would not have to worry about their expenses.
It did not require specific certificates beforehand. That was enough.
If he failed the test, it would leave him with no better choice than to take financial support from the Government which he didn't want to.
Government providing financial support to anyone who wants, it is because they have nowhere else to spend the resources nowadays. For various reasons World population has decreased and resources are plentiful.
Most people can get by themselves. Less than 1% of people might need financial support. Of which only 0.1% will accept it and others will do odd jobs.
If he took the deal of the Government, their current living conditions would improve for the better. But the goal he had in his mind would no longer be achievable.
So despite some difficulties he continued to do some jobs for their living expenses.
At midnight Allen was still full of energy and he felt that even if he didn't sleep, he would be fine. But so that his health may not worsen, he still went to sleep.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Allen woke up early in the morning and was a little drowsy. A short bath, some water in mouth, some in nose and some in ears to clean.
Today was the day of the test for him. The institution normally only admitted 5 to 10 people from more than hundreds of thousands of applicants. These last few years were an exception including a quota of over 50 people .
However, many applicants perhaps paced around even more anxiously because of this. Fear of losing had invaded their faces and hearts.
Allen had confidence that he would pass the test and maybe this stemmed from hard work not from arrogance.
He believed himself to be smart and coupled with hard work, failing was a possibility only if he had offended the judge by harassing his daughter, her Honor.
Allen took a bath, put some new clothes on his body, checked himself in the mirror and made some poses to erase his nervousness, after all if fate thought him unfit, nothing he could do. This determines his family's living conditions.
He had submitted his request to quit his job a week ago and was, along with them till they found a substitute or replacement for him which they did find. The week-long requirement was not in the contract.
Though the boss of the Millennia Link Center insisted that he not quit, he still had to do the compulsory Government job,
Manager of the Center wanted to keep him because he found his work attitude excellent. And he gave his best wishes in the end.
The distance from his house to downtown was not small but he had gotten accustomed to it after a few months.
He arrived at the test site. The test site was also owned by the institution. He had arrived earlier due to the guidelines stated.
Allen arrived at the site and was not very surprised to see that a large number of applicants had already arrived. They might have been nervous or worried about the test. There were only a small portion of the total applicants in this section. The test will start at 9:00 am while it is just a little above 8:30. There are many aged also, one of them might lose it if I take a position?
Soon the test began as the examiners arrived. There were a total of five of them. The head examiner seemed like a strict person with an unfriendly face. Some regulations and that's it.
The test was quite different from the previous examinations. Different in its nature. There were too many strange questions in the test. An example would be,
"When was the first hydrogen bomb invented". So easy. What was the answer again?
"Is it in fact an aptitude test instead of Biology? "Allen was visibly a little irritated after the test.
Anyway he did pass. His intuition told so.
The test lasted for two hours and ended at 11 Am.Everyone was intelligent enough, and they did not wander(every area is unrestricted area) , a wise man learns from other's mistakes. They designed the test in such a way that you would not be able to complete it. Allen considered it stupid.Allen solved the majority of the questions(not really). The examiners scattered and were waiting for the test results. And someone even came to Allen for small talk but he politely refused his company.Meanwhile, the examiners were nowhere. In the past they would announce the result the moment the test ended. This time, maybe because of the test being unusua
If someone watched from the highest place in Austin City , he could watch a young man running in the rain, ignoring the shelters built for travelers to rest and protect themselves from extreme weather. Although the rain soaked his clothes and he could catch a cold, it seemed that he did not care.Under the stormy rain, a bright smile could be seen hanging from the young man's mouth. It seemed he could not contain his happiness. This young man was Allen. He continued moving in a direction and went through alleyways and it seemed that he was overly familiar to this route and it was definitely not his first time passing through here.He only stopped after seeing a familiar house in front of him.Even though he ran for long, he did not pant much and his breathing soon returned to normal. The house in front of h
Allen spent the seven days with his sister which passed without accident and were by far happiest memories siblings enjoyed after their parents died.Allen was now standing in front of a gate.Elena was also with him right now.Today he got a letter from the institute. It was a reminder and told the location where he had to report. It said to report at the main entrance. As previously he was only informed that he had to report to the institute. Not exactly where in the institute he had to report. The reason for that is unknown to him.But now that he was standing in front of the gate,he could not see where he had to report.Institution only lets invited people in and not even relatives could go in the institute without permission. So Elena said goodbye to him and did not insist on staying here ,and left him all alone. She had gone towards Austin institute.Looking at the institute's gate again, it did see
It seems that Allen was not the last one to arrive as some others also arrived after him. They too seeing others just standing there went to a side. Some of them talked a little with the people standing there and then went back to the side.Allen heard their conversation and came to know that they were also waiting to report to the department head to get tasks assigned to them. They did not have to wait long as they saw a person wearing visibly different attire from them arriving at the place. His attire was eye-catching and had Excel sewn on it.This man was the same person as the head examiner. He stopped after making some distance from the crowd. He started talking after seeing all eyes gathered on him."Hello, you already know my name as I had already introduced myself at
"You don't need to do this.I..."Steven talked to a middle aged man.The man addressed as Sir Charles interrupted him"You have handled it these couple of years. But what was the result? I still haven't got any satisfactory results to speak of.Which contrives me to do it by myself.I don't want to hear about this again. "Steven said after a moment"But is it really necessary to tell them the reason? What will be the point of it?"Charles replied with a sigh"Honestly i don't think it will make much of a difference. But we have no choice but to adopt all measures that we have left undone.Maybe,Just maybe,It might prove to be more useful than we think"Steven didn't say anymore and became a silent puppet again.. . . . . . . . .
After most of the people had left the hall, the hall returned to its original state.Allen sat in the hall,Observing his digital watch. He had been doing it for quite some time. There were two main reasons behind that.First one was to see if his sister had sent any message. He had enrolled his sister to the Austin institute and was planning to return soon to accompany his sister. This was her first day so he thought he would take her into the Austin institute. But due to the abrupt situation he was in right now, that did not seem quite possible. He had told her in advance that if he got delayed then she should not wait. Afterall it was not a necessity for him to go along with her.He had just wanted to see her new study environment. Because even if it was rumored to be the
Half a month later, the group of four were still going about their research. They were first working with the thought that they would take it easy now that their team task had been completed. But they had become too engrossed in their personal task and didn't even notice when they started to sleep in their research area.Working and sleeping in the same place had made their bond a little firm.It was already the 25th day of their first month here, but they had not attained much in their personal task. After many failures they were still not disheartened. But they were still slightly disappointed. The cause of their disappointment was not their failure. But that they could not achieve the goal they had set for themselves. There was
The fermentation tank accident had increased their ranks even further. Allen had directly sent the given data to the Mr. Steven(now he had a personal contact number of his), the things that were to be followed were a bit too complicated for the group at the current stage(even with A.I. helping).Anyways, that was in the past. Most important was that the four of them started to fight more and work less in the past few...hours, on the matter of naming their team(strange to have their name known as unknown or noname)."Alright, we will not be able to make a decision even if we argue till dawn. So why don't we do it like this.Luke's suggestion this time was the main reason for our task's success. Why don't we let Luke have a final name.On which we will all agree even if we like it or not.
