CHAPTER III

He chuckled.

Rumbles vibrated throughout his body. Making me feel flushed for an unknown reason.

I casted him a confused glance as he put me down, back on my feet.

"You recognize me, love. For that, I am very happy." He sent me a smile.

"I know that you are filled with questions, but first of all, my name is Kielton. River Glow's Alpha." His chest puffed out with pride as he claimed that.

He then gestured towards Mikhail, "He is the Beta of the pack. My second in command."

Mikhail bowed his head, and I nodded to him in acknowledgment.

"Werewolf?" I managed to croak out.

"Yes, love. I'm a werewolf. We all are, I hope that doesn't intimidate you? We will do nothing to harm you. You are our Luna."

"How? What? Why?" I asked with difficulty. My throat still hurts.

"Luna, water?" Mikhail offered me a bottled water.

I gratefully took it and drank it in one go. I hadn't realize I was so thirsty.

"As werewolves, we have our other halves, commonly known as mates. A blessing by the Moon Goddess. And you happened to be my mate." He stared at me with love in his eyes.

Oh, that's sort of... cool.

But then I blushed furiously, remembering what happened at the stream.

He saw me naked!

"You..." I trailed off, my cheeks heating up.

"What is it, love? What about me?" He asked in a concerned tone.

"You... Xanthe. Naked, stream" I stammered out.

Kielton's eyes widened and his ears tinged red. He had a small blush on his face as he smirked slightly, which he tried to cover up with a cough.

"I didn't mean for that to happen, love. I looked away as soon as I realized." He said sincerely.

At least, this guy's respectful.

"Uhm, where is Xanthe?" I questioned, while looking around.

"At the pack house, love. Come, we'll have breakfast here before going to my home." Kielton informed me.

Now that he mentioned it, I was pretty hungry.

The last time I ate proper food was a few days ago.

If you can even consider crumbs of bread and minimal water as proper.

We went inside and directed ourselves to the dining room. Maids frantically ran around at the sight of us, preparing the table with delicious-smelling food I couldn't name of.

Kielton pushed out a chair for me to sit on, and sat right next to me while Mikhail was in front of us.

He put a lot of food on my plate. I don't know if I can finish them all.

I only ate a quarter before slightly pushing it to Kielton.

"Is the food not appetizing for you, love?" He questioned with concern.

Shaking my head, I patted my flat stomach.

"Xanthe's full."

He nodded in understanding.

Kielton took my plate and shared half of it to Mikhail.

While they were eating, I took my time to scrutinize Kielton's appearance.

He was really good-looking. A few stubble on his sharp jaw, has a refined nose, thick eyebrows, red protruding lips, and of course, his enigmatic green eyes.

His dark hair was suave, making me want to run my fingers through for a very long time.

With his tight shirt on, I can see his firm biceps.

They finished eating, and Kielton and I went to his house, not far from the pack house.
