CHAPTER II

My hands were shaking as I hugged him.

Were they really dead? All of them?

Am I free from them?

I'm overwhelmed with the fact that there's no more chasing. No more running away.

I cried as I hugged the wolf tighter. My angel wolf.

Mistaking my cries for distress, the wolf whined and licked those tears away.

I didn't mind that it was literally on someone's head just a few moments ago. This angel wolf of mine saved my life.

Before I even realized it, I was lulled to sleep.

The mere presence of him made me calm and safe. I knew he would protect me from any danger or risk.

Sunlight was streaming down my face when I woke up.

I felt hot all over, all because of the body heat of the giant wolf that has wrapped itself around me like a blanket.

I wiggled underneath him, but soon stopped when he made a low guttural sound.

The wolf, if even possible, pulled me more closer to him, leaving no space for me to escape.

A sigh came out of my mouth as I gave up.

I threaded my fingers through its furry head. It was then he opened his eyes to stare at me.

His green eyes were really mesmerizing. I can't look away.

After a short while, he started to lick all over my face.

I pushed him away lightly with a small smile as I did not want to offend him.

Standing up, I looked around to find any source of water.

There was one stream not very far from us, so I started to walk over there. My legs were still weak, but I managed.

The wolf followed me, staying close behind in case I fall, and he'll be there to catch me.

When we arrived, I checked the water temperature first before taking off the only flimsy dress I had on.

I heard him yip and yap, but I paid him no mind as I submerged myself on the cool water.

Looking back, I saw him sitting down while its head was cocked to the side.

He was avoiding my naked body.

Apparently, wolves know their manners more than humans do.

I finished cleaning myself up and we started to walk around.

The wolf seemed to be guiding me somewhere, so I just followed him.

We stopped when we neared a big house, humans and wolves alike were lounging around.

They looked at the wolf beside me, and they all bowed their heads down.

Their eyes darted towards me, with hope and astonishment.

For what reason? I didn't know.

One guy came up to us and bowed, "Alpha. Luna?"

Those are pack titles, right?

The wolf left which made me scared, but I relaxed myself.

He wouldn't leave me with someone he can't trust. And this guy may be able to keep me safe like he can.

"I am Mikhail, Luna. Nice to finally meet you." The guy said with a grin.

"Xanthe." I whispered out, while looking down.

The sounds of footsteps striding to where I am, made me look up. What I saw made me gasp.

His eyes were the first thing that caught my attention.

It was exactly like my angel wolf's.

A werewolf?

I ran up to him to embrace him. He caught me with his arms and I just looked at him with awe.

There is no doubt that this attractive man in front of me, is the same wolf I had the pleasure to meet yesterday.
