Grace’s ears rang.

Did William seriously just say he’d find her a man? Not one, but two?

He had made his choice. Without hesitation, he chose Camila.

It felt like a knife had pierced through her chest—not just stabbed, but twisted, tearing her from the inside out.

Her lips trembled as she forced out a whisper. “I’m still… your wife, Will…”

William had changed clothes. Black shirt, smooth and crisp, jacket perfectly tailored. Not a trace of that wild emotion he’d shown earlier. He was back to being cold, untouchable. Elegant. Cruel.

Without a word, he pulled something from his pocket and handed it to her.

Grace looked down.

A check.

The amount was huge.

One hundred million dollars.

Then his voice came from above her, low and flat.

“Grace, this is your divorce settlement. I’m agreeing to the divorce.”

He placed the check on the sink and walked out. Never once looking back.

He was leaving... to meet Camila. Just like her mother did.

Grace’s vision blurred. Tears welled up—

  • You Beg for Another Chance, but I've Moved On   Chapter 33. A Failed Surprise

The moment William heard that Camila had arrived, he froze. His sanity, which had slipped just moments ago, came rushing back. He lowered his head, hiding the despair clouding his eyes. What the hell had he just done? He’d grabbed Grace… forced himself to touch her? Grace felt his grip loosen. William let her go. “You stay here. Don’t come out,” he ordered firmly. Without another word, he turned and strode out of the room. He was going to see Camila. The man who, just moments ago, had been driven by pure desire could so easily walk away from her the second Camila’s name was mentioned. The flush in Grace’s cheeks slowly faded, replaced by a bitter smile. Why did she feel like she was the other woman? Like she was the one sneaking around with William, while Camila was the real wife? How ironic. What was William planning to do with Camila? Of course—finish whatever they hadn’t yet finished. Grace crouched down, picked up her phone, and tucked it back into her bag. Moments la

Camila had been looking for William everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found. Patrick was still outside, seeing off the guests with a smile that looked more like a grimace. He walked Aaron and Tessier to their car, saying, “Mr. Aaron, Mr. Tessier, I hope our future cooperation will be smooth.” Aaron glanced at Patrick’s face, amused by the scars marring it. “Mr. Whitmore, you should see a doctor. Your face looks terrible,” he said. “Although… I guess we can’t really call you Whitmore, can we? That’s not your name.” The two directors got in their car and left. Patrick went back into the living room with a dark expression. He strode straight to Melanie. “So this was your plan? To humiliate me?!” The one who couldn’t accept the truth was Melanie herself. She still couldn’t figure out why everything had fallen apart when she had prepared everything so carefully. Melanie grabbed Patrick’s arm. “Baby, I can explain—” He shook her off roughly, grabbed his jacket, and headed for the

“William, did you breathe in that stuff too?” Grace’s voice shook, panic creeping in. He must’ve inhaled the drugged smoke from that incense. William pressed his lips into a hard line, his expression cold as ice. He’d already sensed something was off with his body. They were hiding behind a curtain, Grace’s tiny body pressed against his, her hand clamped over his mouth. But all he could feel was heat crawling over his skin, and his mind was starting to blur. Yeah. Something was definitely in his system. Without a word, William grabbed Grace’s arm and dragged her out of their hiding spot. Outside, chaos had erupted. The two families were at each other’s throats in the middle of the ballroom. Shouts and the sound of shattering glass filled the air, but nobody noticed the two of them slipping away. William hauled Grace out of the villa without giving her a chance to speak. When they reached the car parked by the front steps, he yanked the door open and practically shoved her inside

“You didn’t see who went inside?” Melanie asked the maid who’d just reported to her. “I asked Miss Grace to bring water into the room. You know we’re not allowed to go in ourselves,” the maid replied, playing along with Melanie. “Then why was the door locked?” Melanie asked again as she slipped a key into the knob and turned it. “No idea, ma’am.” As the door creaked open, darkness filled the room. But the faint light spilling through the cracks in the curtains revealed the silhouette of a woman straddling a man lying on the bed. The woman froze as the door swung wide open and gasps filled the hallway. But instead of panicking, she just sat there… almost like she wanted to be caught. “Is that Grace? With a guy?” whispers began swirling across the room. Melanie’s expression dropped, her voice sharp and theatrical. “How could something like this ruin my birthday party?!” She exchanged a satisfied glance with Camila. They were both thrilled. Tonight, every powerful family in San F

The two maids were clearly mocking Grace, but she didn’t say a word. Instead, a wave of curiosity washed over her. What exactly were they planning? Without a change in expression, Grace picked up the tray of glasses and quietly made her way to the bedroom. As she passed through the main hallway, William, who was deep in conversation with a group of important guests, turned his head. His eyes narrowed as he caught a glimpse of the girl walking by. Isn’t that Grace? he thought. She’s part of this family. Why is she being bossed around like a servant? Are they really that cruel to her? He scoffed internally. In front of him, Grace had the guts to slap him, but when others were around, she went silent. So she wasn’t fearless—she just picked her battles. Was she only brave when it came to him? Meanwhile, Grace stepped into the quiet room. Her eyes scanned the space, making sure no one else was there. She set the tray down on the table. A flicker of doubt crossed her mind. Maybe she wa

Over the past few days, William found himself completely captivated by Grace’s beauty—so much so that he barely recognized himself anymore. He’d even shattered a glass in a fit of rage after seeing her kiss Theo. “Let her do whatever she wants,” he told himself, trying to act like he didn’t care. That woman... she was too bold for her own good. --- At the Whitmore family’s villa, the atmosphere in the living room was cold despite the midday sun. Camila sat stiffly on the sofa, her face twisted in frustration. “Dad, Mom, William’s been pulling away from me more and more lately! It’s all because of Grace.” Patrick frowned, eyeing his daughter closely. “Seriously, Camila? Donovan’s been acting like that toward you? Are he and Grace even divorced yet? When’s he gonna marry you?” Camila stomped her foot, clearly annoyed. “William and Grace aren’t divorced! It’s her fault! She’s being difficult—refusing to sign the papers!” Patrick turned to Melanie, his expression sharp. “Mel, what
