Chapter 3

Damien

The next day Damien was woken up by a knock on his door. He sighed, standing up from his bed, not bothering to wear a shirt or pants over his boxers. He slowly opened the door only to be face to face with Tierra. He felt a strange pit in his stomach.

Tierra's eyes wandered over the Prince's body, her cheeks burning up, Damien doing the same with her. Tierra snapped out of her daze realizing it was inappropriate. She cleared her throat.

"Y-your highness, breakfast is ready." She shyly said rocking back and forth on her heels.

Damien snapped out of his daze. "Huh?" He asked his eyebrows furrowed. "Breakfast is ready." Tierra repeated. Damien sighed rubbing his face with his hands. Tierra let out a gasp.

"My Prince! Y-your hand!" She exclaimed taking his big hand into her small one.

They both felt a weird feeling in their stomach at the contact. "W-what happened?" She asked hesitantly. "Punched a wall." Damien shrugged carelessly. He felt his heart beat quickening when Tierra softly rubbed his hand. Tierra bit her lip.

"W-would you like me to clean it up?" She asked. "Uh, sure. Come in." Damien said moving out the way.

"I-I." Tierra sighed as she cleaned Damien's wound. "You what?" He asked. "Never mind. It's not my business." Tierra said shaking her head. "It's okay." Damien said softly.

"I-I saw what happened with you and t-the King." She said, wrapping Damien's hand with a bandage.

She closed the first aid kid before looking up to Damien who was staring at her. "Um...yeah." he chuckled. "It was a stupid argument anyway." He shrugged looking away from Tierra.

"It looked pretty serious." She said but regretted it. "I'm sorry...j-just forget I ever said anything." She shook her head standing up from her seat. "I-I have to go." She bowed before walking out.

Damien looked down at his hand before smiling. What is going on with me?

Tierra's POV

Tierra closed the door to the Prince's room, her cheeks flushed. She let out a breath before hurrying off to the kitchen. She couldn't stop smiling. But why?

"What are you smiling about?" Dan, one of the soldiers who is also known as Tierra's friend asked.

Tierra blushed. "Hey Dan." She said. "Hey Ti." He teased. Tierra let out a huff. "I told you to stop calling me that." She scolds. Dan let out a laugh. "How are you?" He asked. "I-I'm good." She said, blushing. Dan tilted his to the side before his eyes widened.

"Oh God, who did you fall in love with this time?" Dan asked playfully. "Nobody and Jack was just a friend." Tierra let a huff. Dan chuckled. "Yeah Right." He laughed. "You know what? I'm going back to work." Tierra said turning around and walking away. "Alright, see you later." Dan chuckled shaking his head.

His heart ached when he thought of Tierra falling for another man but seeing her happy made him happy.

Walking around the castle, Tierra couldn't stop thinking about the Prince. This is so inappropriate! She scolds at herself shaking her head. But no matter how much she told herself it's wrong, she couldn't get him off her mind! His beautiful brunette hair that was always neatly combed back, his hazel eyes, his...his lips. Oh those pink plump lips that looked oh so soft, his body. He has that V-line that went down to his-...

Oh dear God. Tierra thought rubbing her forehead.

She couldn't help but fantasize about him. With him on top of her, doing things to her she never experienced, his lips kissing every inch of her body.

Oh God. She thought feeling her cheeks burn up.

"Tierra!" Kelly shouted. "Huh?" Tierra said turning around. "What is wrong with you, your blushing and sweating and I think I heard you moan."  Kelly squinted her eyes at her. "What are you up to?" She asked.

"N-nothing...just...it's nothing." Tierra said not making eye contact.

"Well the Prince is calling you." Kelly rolled her eyes. Me? Tierra thought. "Uh...okay." She quickly dashed out of the kitchen making her way over to the Prince's room. She took a deep breath before softly knocking.

The door opened. The Prince smiled at her. "I-I heard you were looking for me?" She asked. Her eyes widened as she quickly bowed, "Your highness." She mumbled. "Yes, actually. You miss, are coming with me to the city." Tierra's eyes widened. "T-the city? With you?" She asked surprised. "I've always wanted to go there." She said, well, more to herself.

She followed behind the Prince, some of the servants looked at them in confusion, some in surprise. The Prince warmly smiled at them while Tierra glanced down at her shoes, her cheeks flushed.

"Ladies first." The Prince smiled at her.

Tierra felt her heart drum against her chest. "Uh...okay?" She weirdly looked at the Prince before walking out the door.

________

Tierra let out a gasp as she looked wide eyed out the carriage as it passed the buildings. Damien glanced at her, smiling a little. Tierra just kept staring at the buildings. Her eyes widened, and a small smile played on her lips. Damien could not deny it but she was beautiful.

"Woah!" Tierra exclaimed.

"H-how long did it take to build that?" She pointed at a tall brick building. So this is the tallest building in the country that everyone has been talking about.

"I don't know. Maybe weeks, months, years?" Damien shrugged.

She only nodded and proceed to look out the small window again.

"Why did you bring me here?" She asked after minutes of silence. "Well I just wanted to get away from the palace, you know." Damien shrugged. Tierra tilted her head to the side and furrowed her eyebrows. "Then why am I here. I don't even think people like me are allowed to come here." Damon nodded.

"True but I'm the Prince, I do whatever I want." He smirked.

The carriage came to a halt and the coachman opened the carriage door on the Prince's side.

"We're here." He said as he stepped out the carriage. Tierra looked out the small window nervously.

Restaurant? I've never been to a restaurant . She thought looking back at the Prince.

"I guess I'll wait for you in the carriage while you go and have fun." She awkwardly chuckled looking back out the window. "You're coming with me." Damien said. Tierra's eyes widened.

"My Prince, there is literally a sign there that says 'whites only'." She said.

Damien rolled his eyes walking over to the sign. He yanked the sign out the ground, throwing it aside. "Not anymore! Now, come on!" He exclaimed. He's acting so childish! Tierra thought, climbing out the carriage.

The people, eating and laughing with their families suddenly stopped and stared at The Prince and Tierra.

They whispered at each other, looking at Tierra in disgust.

"M-my Prince. I think it's better if I go back to the carriage." Tierra said with a trembling voice as she felt eyes on her.

Damien shook his head, "Nonsense! Come on."

He grabbed Tierra's hand and she gasped at the touch. He dragged her to a table. He pulled a chair out for her and she stared at him in confusion.

"The seat is clean for you to sit, my prince." She said.

Damien shook his head. "No, I pulled the chair out for you." Tierra's lips parted. "O-oh." She said in surprise before sitting down. She glanced around and saw people staring at her. She gulped.

Damien took the seat in front of her.

Tierra licked her lips as she realized how underdressed she was. Her clothes were dirty and torn, even her face had smudges of dirt on it. She looked at Damien and sighed. He was looking handsome as ever.

He wore a navy blue tailcoat that had gold buttons, his hands had white gloves covering them, his neck was covered by a cravat, his legs by pantaloons and his feet with tasseled Hessians.

His brunette hair was combed back in its usual style.

"Waiter!" Damien snapped his fingers.

A man came running by his table and bowed. "Good Afternoon, Your Highness. What would you like to eat today?" He asked, grabbing his notepad out his pocket and a pencil.

"Afternoon." Damien said with a firm voice, "I believe you didn't greet my date, sir." He said.

The waiter looked back and saw Tierra. Her head was bowed in shame. "Uh-"

"Do you have a problem with my date?" Damien asked.

The waiter glanced at him with wide eyes. "No, of course not, your highness."

"Then greet her. I believe she deserves the same respect that all these people in here get, don't you think?" Damien's eyes squinted. The waiter gulped and glanced at Tierra who still had her head down.

"Good Afternoon, M'lady." He said.

Tierra nodded only.

"May I take your order?" The waiter asked, glancing at the prince.

"I-I'm not allowed to eat at this time." Tierra mumbled quietly.

Damien ignored her. "Two plates of roasted meat. Some vegetables, also."

The waiter nodded and walked away.

When Damien glanced at Tierra, her eyes were wide. "What? What's wrong?"

"I'm not allowed to eat meat. All the slaves aren't allowed to eat meat." She said. Damien sighed, "Like i said, I do what I want." He said.

When their food came, Tierra first took a hesitant bite from the meat, then another, then another. She fell in love and ate like she hadn't eaten in days.

Damien smiled as he stared at her.

"I had a good time today, Tierra." Damien said watching Tierra's cheeks burning up. He finally learned my name! She thought. "M-me too." They stood in front of the room where all the servants slept in. Tierra looked at the door and back to the Prince. "Well, I-" she was cut off by the Prince's soft lips.

Tierra let out a surprised gasp as Damien slowly moved his lips against hers, wrapping his arms around her waist. Tierra pushed him away. "My Prince! I-I don't think this is appropriate." She said trying to catch her breath.

"Oh my God! The king is going to kill me!" She whisper shouted.

"He doesn't have to know. Come on Tierra, you can't tell me you don't feel this connection between us." Damien moved closer to her but Tierra pushed him back. "Connection!? My Prince, I don't know if you realised it but I'm a slave, your a prince. I'm black, your white. This is illegal!" Her eyes watered.

"I'm sorry your highness but I can't do this. Goodnight." She said before entering the closed door.

Damien sighed rubbing his face. "Damn it." He muttered. Why her? He thought. No matter how much Tierra wanted him to leave her alone, he couldn't. His feelings were too involved now and there is nothing that could stop them

But little did he know, Lauren saw everything and she was going to make Tierra's life a living hell.
