Neon lights making her eyes hurt, she lowered her gaze as she walked inside. The man closed the door shut as she was forced to move forward and couldn't look back. Bernard was sitting on a couch, as usual his presence was dark and stark. She tried to see his face but couldn't. "How was your day Miss Veronica?" He asked in a husky voice. "It was fine Sir......." He gave her a room on the ground floor while his was upstairs, on the first floor. The large penthouse even had a fountain in the middle and a large balcony where all of the city could be viewed. "Can I pay you after I get my salary?" She asked him as he showed her the room. "I don't think I asked you about money yet" he replied, not liking how she was so worried to pay him. "You might not need my money, but I will not stay if I won't pay you" Veronica told him, as she placed her suitcase inside which his butler bought just a few minutes ago. "God really made women complex! I didn't say I won't take it or if I don't need it. I said I haven't asked you yet so you shouldn't be worried about it. From that onwards she never protested again as Bernard dropped her to university everyday and when she would get off, his driver would come to pick her up and drop at the hotel. Life became easy for her momentarily. She did not realize how much she was getting used to all the luxuries he had provided her. Unknowingly everything was becoming a part of her life. On weekends they would spend some time talking over lunch, sometimes they would sit together in the library as he would work on his laptop and she would complete her assignments. On late, cold nights after work, they would sit together for a cup of coffee in the lawn and gaze at the shining stars. They both started to like each other's company, as she realised that he was really a decent man and nothing grumpy as she used to think. Waves crashing against the rocks and the moon seeping through the clouds. The sea roared against the calm sky and it was all a melody to hear for the ones who could understand. It was a beautiful hut alongside the beach, furnished with glass as main material. Almost dreamy, it looked like straight out of a fairytale to her. He opened the car door for her himself. The very next morning she woke up all alone in that comfy bed, with the sight of calming sea through the large window. She rubbed her eyes as she looked over, but of course she was all alone in that large room. She got up and realised that she had been wearing a silk night suit which he gave her last night. Taking a bath and brushing her teeth, she took off the night suit and wore her usual last night's dress. She descended the stairs and found him busy in the kitchen, as he whipped the coffee and placed the cups in the tray. "Good morning!" She greeted him with a smile. "Good morning pretty lady! After the incredible last night, she couldn't help but shake off the feeling of last night. She was so embarrassed to even face Bernard. When she woke up first in his bed, she turned around to see his face. He looked so handsome and calm while sleeping. The devilish face was no more fuming. She wanted to stroke his jaw, lock her fingers in his soft hair but contained herself. He was shirtless with his perfect chest on display. She wanted to stay in his arms and feel his skin, the most irresistible urge she ever felt. But instead she slipped from his bed quietly, only embarrassed to leave his room in panties and a shirt. Her night was ruined and there was no deny in that. She couldn't keep up with the further orders any more. She just wanted to nestle back into her room and cry out her heart until she would feel light. The emotions overwhelmed her and she just hoped that she wouldn't have to face Bernard in such state or he would ask her million questions and wouldn't let go of it until that boy dies. Without telling anyone, she simply disappeared and went back to the penthouse. Lara welcomed her inside and she didn't even try to force a smile.
