EVA'S POVI looked around frantically. My heart thudded against my ribs as hundreds of apprehensions flooded my mind. Just then I caught a glimpse of a foot peeking out from behind an oak tree. My brows furrowed in confusion. It looked like Alex’s foot. What was he doing behind the tree?  Then, it struck me. He was trying to get back at me for not listening to him the previous night. I was not someone to be defeated so easily.

EVA'S POVI didn’t like the eagerness with which Alex followed the men. They were all drop-dead gorgeous, but still, they were strangers. But what could I do? Since Alex agreed, I had to tag along.I had a feeling that Alex was changing gradually, not necessarily in the wrong way, but he was behaving differently. I sucked in my breath when I saw the palace. Made in beautiful Redstone, it stretched in both directions far beyond what I could see.

ALEX'S POVI felt so frustrated the moment he called himself my father. Where was he all this while? Where was he when my mother was lying in the hospital? The knowledge that he had abandoned my mother tore me from the inside. I could forgive him for leaving me, but how could I forgive him for deserting my mother; that too when she needed him the most. If he was a normal human being, I could still understand. But, he was a powerful Golden Shifter, someone who is supposed to have immense power. Then, why was my mother left to die alone in the hospital? Couldn’t he have cured her with his powers?

ALEX'S POVI didn’t feel like leaving Eva alone, but she was already tired. Her legs would ache if she had to keep walking through the passages. It wasn’t convenient for me to carry her either. It seemed a bit awkward to carry Eva while Victoria walked. Moreover, it was the King’s order. I still had to figure things out and didn’t want to piss me off, at least not yet. THIRD PERSON’S POV Mr. Frosco dragged Victoria to her room and shut the door quickly. He gripped her by the shoulders and lifted her chin so that she was looking straight into his eyes.“What do you think you were doing, Victoria?” His voice boomed in the room.
