           Taleen is fascinated by LA. I can see how much she’s amazed by everything around her just by looking at her face. “But I should pay for it, not you,” I exclaim as I walk out of the store with Avery. I still can’t believe that I’m holding a bag that has a two-and-a-half-thousand dollar dress in it. It’s perfect in every single way, but I can’t just accept it for free.          “I paid nothing, chill! Mum did.” She shrugs as if it is not that big of a deal.          “This doesn’t make it any better, Avery. I swear I have money in my bank account, I’m not broke, ” I tell her.          “I never said you’re broke. Taleen, I didn’t pay for my dress, either. She did and trust me, she doesn’t mind at all. “They’ve been out for long.” A crease appears between my eyebrows as I speak to mum. I have been standing with mum for ten minutes and dad, Avery and Taleen haven’t shown up. She told me that Taleen went out to answer her phone. Dad also went out to go to the bathroom and Avery went to see Taleen.  “We can go check on them if you want,” mum suggests and I nod. “You have just finished your exams. You should go out,” Josh tries to convince me, but I’m as stubborn as a mule. I’m not going to leave him while he’s feverish and go out to celebrate finishing my exams. I can’t find it in my heart to do that. Plus, I’m going to my family’s place next week. I want to spend this week with him before having to leave. He is also leaving for LA to spend more time with his family. They did invite me to visit, but I haven’t seen my family in so long. There’s a high possibility that he won’t be there with me on my birthday and this bums me. Maybe he’d surprise me and show up.
