 Dante Becker drifted into a fitful slumber. The last thing he recalled trailing off watching the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.While wandering, he plummeted through darkness landing on something wet. When Becker opened his eyes a battleground emerged. He searched his mind for his whereabouts. Logan remained a wanted man for the assassinations of government leaders.They must stop Logan and his team of very dangerous people.  Druid Hill Headquarters April second, Conyers Woods remained quiet late afternoon, then noises generated in the woods.Logan practiced bow and arrows. One arrow plunged into the thick timber. He never misplaced a hit. Targeting relaxed him. He positioned to shoot another arrow when someone stepped from behind the tree. Thirty minutes afterward, he exited Crescent’s Groceries with three bags planning to stop, grab a case of beer at Jay’s convenience store on the way home. Stanley entered the store, Sam Rutherford the store owner, glanced up from a magazine. He dropped it on the checkout counter. “Hey there, Stan how are today.” “I’d say days could be better.” “I consider things not working out for you these days, Stan.” Sam wiped his hands on his uniform shirt. “It’s a long story you wouldn’t have time to listen.”Sam held up his hand. “I got it.  Edwards asked Bates if he could come into work early that afternoon, Bates agreed.Relieved, he passed the crazy convicts down the hallway without circumstances, slipped into the surveillance room. He locked the door, exhausted, plopping into the chair. He faced the monitors overlooking the lobby. Then grabbed a can of Coke out of the mini cooler he kept under the table. The doorknob twisted.Edwards froze with the can to his lips. He glanced at the monitor. The lobby and upstairs floors looked empty. He turned toward the door. The steel knob rattled as someone tried to get in. Bates gave him the day off because he wanted Max to remain in the dark room observing the monitors for a few days.
