Jordan and I stay in my room for a while, chatting, I wasn't ready to face anyone just yet. She tells me that there might be a way we can stop the Alpha’s from fighting, but it would require me to speak to Alpha Christian and tell him that I was having some sort of breakdown when I said I wanted to leave. When I asked her if she was certain it would work, she looked doubtful and tells me all I can do is try.Heading back downstairs to grab some food, we find Cole in the kitchen cooking, he gives Jordan a disgusted look yet apologises to me for his behaviour, how could I forgive the way he attacked me?!.You could cut the air with a knife from the tension between them as I sat at the table not knowing where to look. I had to say something, “How’s Amber?”Cole curls his lip up in disgust “She is right where she belongs, no one disrespects my Alpha” his words still surprise me, what I thought I knew about mates has turned out to

He walks away from me and I cannot help but chase after “You did that on purpose” “Obviously, like I said Ashley, you are mine” “I was his too” Daryl spins around to look at me, anger rolling off of him “You are not Christians” I shake my head “Not Christians. Maddox said the same but after he beat me, a constant reminder” He looks everywhere but at me then sinks down on the nearby bench placing his hands on his face “You have to move on from the past Ashley, you cannot keep doing this to yourself” he looks up at me a look of pity in his eyes, but I couldn’t help it. I couldn’t just let it go. Instead of just staring at me, he stands and wraps his arms around me, my body relaxing into his warmth. I wanted to talk about it, I just couldn’t bring myself to tell him. “You know whats funny, you haven’t even asked me about this hybrid thing?” he was changing the subject. “What is there to ask” I shrug my shoulders “I don’t r

I was sickened by what I was but I had to deal with Hayden, he had put me through hell over the years, my scars a permanent reminder of what he and his father did to me, the branding that would forever linger on my stomach.Hayden curled up into a ball, refusing to look at me as he quaked in fear, an emotion I had never seen him in before “I… I didn’t know you were this”I snarled again, signalling that his words no longer meant anything to me, he had ruined my life, he had made me a scared little girl who was afraid of everything including my own mate. I watched him for a moment, he didn’t even attempt to shift or look at me, he knew he had screwed up.“Pl….please…don’t…..kill…me”His words came out in stutters but I had no remorse, not now! He had not only threatened me but had targeted Daryl and his pack, he was the reason Sam was dead. I grab him by the leg and toss him like

He continued to pace and if it wasn’t for the wooden floor and being in his human form then he probably would have worn a hole in a carpet. He doesn’t say a word as I explained what happened, what I had become, how I drank blood willingly, he just continued to pace. Watching him walk up and down the room was starting to irritate me, he didn’t look at either of us, keeping his eyes firmly fixed ahead.“At least Hayden is dead” He finally stops, leaning against the wall, “Although Ash, I’m kind of surprised that you had it in you”.I understood what he was saying, I had always been the weak one, I had even broken my thumb throwing a punch.Shifting on my seat I try to ignore this uncomfortable itch inside me, like something trying to get out, my monster felt trapped, being around Daryl meant she was stuck inside me and I shift around some more.“Can you hear your wolf?” Daryl asked curiously and I

Christian left me alone in the library to look through the book, he asked several times before leaving if I was going to be okay, I was lying through my teeth when I repeatedly told him I would be okay but kept a smile on my face and thankfully he didn’t see through it.Thumbing through the book, I found a family tree, there was my name right at the very bottom whilst Amber's name didnt appear anywhere. Next to everyones name except for mine was the word deceased. As I turned the pages there were drawings of what the author thought was my monster but the more pages I flipped through, the more the images changed and began to resemble me and the way I looked when I shifted. A large black monster neither wolf nor vampire but something in between, it had the extended teeth of a vampire but a snout like a wolf, the ears were small and pinned to the head whilst the body was huge, muscle after muscle bulging everywhere. A thin layer of black fur coated the dark skin whilst razor sharp claws
