Zamiwe walked into the living room throwing her hand bag on the floor and herself on the couch. She put her legs on the table as she exhaled heavily.“What a day!” She sighed. “Ludo!” She called. She was very tired that she dosed off within minutes of sitting down.“Anybody home?” Joe asked as he entered the living room.He was equally tired from his trip. He saw Zamiwe sleeping on the couch and memories flashed back. He remembered how good they were together before Ludo’s sickness kicked in. They were a small happy family. He walked to her and sat beside her. He looked at her and smiled. Her face was covered with her hair. He moved the hair to the side. He was looking at her face clearly now. She was still as beautiful as ever. If only she could have been this beautiful even when she was awake, perhaps they could have been happy but behind this sleepy innocent face was a nagger. She felt him touch her and woke up. She looked at him and smiled.“You are home?” She asked.“Yes Zamiwe,”

Next morningThe rays of sunlight that penetrated from the window shone in Ameliah’s eyes which caused her to wake up. She rose up from bed and yawned loudly while stretching her arms.“Oh no, I’m late again for his breakfast” She exclaimed and dashed into her small sized bathroom. She did her business and ran to her wardrobe. Then she wore her uniform and took her hairpin. She ran out of her room while doing her hair. She ran to his room and knocked lightly.“Come in” Stephen said from inside. She slightly opened the door and walked in.“Good morning master” Ameliah said with a deep bow.“Morning” He replied climbing down from his bed. He glanced ather and said, “No need to prepare a breakfast for me, I am not hungry. I just need you to do some cleaning in this room” He said as he removed his shirt and made to remove his pants…Ameliah quickly turned away gulping down nothing.*Why did I accept to be his personal maid* She thought.“Why are you acting like this, haven’t you seen a m

“So how was work mom?” Ludo asked Zamiwe.“Great my daughter,” Zamiwe smiled as she passed Joe a plate of veggies.“How about you dad? Business?”“So far, it's doing well,” Joe answered. “How was your day?”“It was fine. Boring for the most parts,” Ludo chuckled.“What did you do?” Zamiwe asked.“Nothing as usual. I just watched TV,” Ludo sighed. “I wanted to apologize for the way I talked to you two the other day.”“It’s okay sweetie, you apologized already. We saw the texts,” Zamiwe looked at Joe, smiling.“Yes baby, we saw them. And we are glad you felt bad about it. We weren’t upset with you; we were just worried,” Joe added.“I know. I’m sorry; it will never happen again.”Ludo and her parents were having an early supper. Zamiwe and Joe had discussed that they should be spending more time with their daughter. They were willing to put their differences aside for Ludo. They wanted to be there for her always. They finished eating and went in the living room to watch television. They

Ludo’s phone rang. She looked at it and looked at Hunter.“Cut the call!” He ordered her.“It’s my mother!” Ludo yelled.Hunter’s forehead formed furrows.“What do you want with me?” Ludo reached for the door handle.“Just sit. Will you?”Ludo stopped fidgeting and sunk in the seat.“How do you know the Hamuumbus?”“Are you the eldest son?” Ludo asked.“Don’t ask me questions, answer me.”“I don’t really know them I just met them a few days ago. Did they send you? Tell Elise that I’m taking the soft copy.”Hunter looked at Ludo irritated.“Wait…. You just killed Mr. Jabulani. That means she didn’t send you.“At least you can think,” Hunter said.Who are you? What do you want with me?” Ludo inquired.Hunter face palmed.“Young girl, will you shut up?”Ludo went quiet.Hunter sighed.“Who are you?” Ludo asked again.Hunter stared at her through the rear view mirror.“I’m sorry,” She pinched the bridge of her nose. There was silence. Hunter was wondering if he had the right girl despite

Kate prepared Kent’s favorite meal. Last time she talked to him, he was happy at the prospects of finding a great writer. She made sure that she had everything ready. After being satisfied with what she had done, she took a bath and wore her beloved dress which she knew Kent loved. She went back in the kitchen and checked on the food warmers as if someone had entered to steal the food. She sat on the dining chair while busy looking at her phone. She had texted him earlier on and he said he was in the neighbourhood but it had been thirty minutes already. Knowing Kent, he had a tendency of talking to people especially when he reached the neighbourhood. She didn’t want to call him. She told herself to be patient. They had the whole night together. With all the work Kate had done, she was very tired. She got her sweater and rested her head on the dining table and fell asleep. An hour later, she woke up to no sign of Kent in the house.“Babe!” She called out to him thinking he was already
