Inside the Carnal Sex Toy store, Anna didn’t raise her head until they were alone in the store. This made Jackson’s heart clench with distress. He couldn’t help but wonder if she had always been like this, grown like this, or was just like this because she was with them. Gently pulling her hands into his, he said to her. “Did you not want to be seen with me?” Anna shook her head immediately. He had misunderstood her. “Then why were you hiding?” “I…wasn’t.” At first, she had hidden under his arm when he said they were being followed. Then later, she was afraid of seeing so many people. Jackson raised a brow, making Anna repeat her words more clearly and a little bit louder. “I wasn’t hiding because I don’t want to be seen with you.” “Hm,” Jackson raised a small smile at how bold she was. “Then when you walk with Jacob and me, raise your head high, okay?” “Okay,” Anna nodded obediently but her heart was clutching under her chest. She knew she had agreed to something that w

As Anna left the living room, she didn’t go straight to the master room, which she was sharing with the twins, but the one they had set up with her things. And saying things, she meant the new clothes, bags, accessories, and many more that they had gotten for her. It was also in the same room, she had kept her small bag that she had left her father's and her ex-husband’s house with. Grabbing the bag, Anna poured out all her contents on the bed in the room to search for her international passport, so she could book the next available flight out of London. Anna was searching for her passport when her eyes fell on her mother’s wedding ring. She stared at the only possession she had of her mother, and her heart tightened in pain. Her past was slowly closing in on her. She was only able to live freely and comfortably with the twins because her father most probably hadn’t found out that she was divorced, else- she knew that the anonymous threatening messages wouldn’t be the only thing

Five months later in Jersey (Country)Anna groaned when the rays of the morning sun glinted into her eyes. “Fuck, another day of working tirelessly.” She muttered her breath before she heard her roommate's voice coming from their kitchenHer roommate, Susan, was an older woman, and they had met after Anna finally got a better-paying job in a 5-star restaurant as a chef. She took pity on her after she found out that Anna was an immigrant, and a poor one at that.“Annabella, are you up? It's 7 am, and we need to leave for work before 8. We won’t be pardoned by the manager if we are late again.” Susan called out to Anna in a high-pitched voice. Arriving at Jersey, Anna started going by her full name, instead of just Anna, to avoid suspicion in case the twins or anyone was searching for her. Dragging her heavy body to the bathroom, Anna quickly took her bath because she also knew that she cannot afford to offend her manager or implicate Susan again. The older woman, who she had surprisi

“Father, are you sure that the bit-girl had already left?” Rebecca gently pulled her father’s sleeve. “Yeah, I didn’t expect her to leave just like that.” Cole replied he knew that Jacob must have found out by now that he was the one that tampered with his deliveries. Rebecca's eyes glinted with satisfaction, she was glad that her plans had worked. That bitch! It was better she knew that she cannot ever have her man! After paying thousands of pounds to buy all her dirty secrets she will be damned if she didn’t use them properly. Cole’s eyes shifted to his daughter’s face and he frowned slightly. “Did you do anything to make her leave too?” He asked Rebecca suspiciously.“I only threatened her. Nothing huge.” She replied with a pout. “Okay, that’s not too bad. Don’t involve yourself too much in this. If Jackson finds out, it might not be favorable to you.” Cole advised his daughter. He was very much aware of Jacob’s evil and ruthless ways of dealing with the mob but Jackson was ano

On getting to the restaurant the next day, the manager welcomed Anna happily with a huge smile on his face, irritating the other jealous chefs. This was the first time since they started working in Bannados restaurant that a suspended chef will be welcomed with smiles and praises. “How many customers did you say postpone their order when Miss Annabella wasn’t around?” The manager asked the hostess later in the evening after Anna tendered her request for a leave. “Hundred, sir.” The hostess replied with a sullen look.A tiny frown formed on Anna’s face as she thought of what the manager was implying. Wasn’t he the one that has suspended her? Why was he blaming her for his loss of customers?“Annabella, Bannados cannot afford to give you leave now, but I can reduce your workload.” The manager offered even though he had no intention of reducing Anna’s workload. He was only interested in keeping her until she was too huge to work. “How about you take a leave a few weeks before you are
