Chapter 11
JULIE "If he's like the stories I've heard and the wars I've witnessed, then he'll certainly be expecting us. I have no doubt that he will be making arrangements to attack us as well, so what we can do for now is protect our numbers and try to gather more weapons. When we're ready enough, we'll destroy his pack and burn it to the ground." A twinge of discomfort settled in my chest, but I vehemently ignored it and instead began to think of ways to strengthen our pack.   Beside me, Sharon burst into a huge grin. "I get your point now, Julie. The best way to strengthen our defences and also our attacks is to get more weapons and landmass. I have the perfect idea." She clapped her hands in delight and brought out the map of all the packs she always carried in her trouser pocket. We looked at it for a moment and at the same time, our fingers tappe

Chapter 12
*ROGUE DOCTOR SHASHA*     I had already mapped out how to take the possessions of the people there and sell them off, but now my buyers would have to wait and that didn't bode well for my sales. All because of her weak body. I looked at her calm face and swallowed down the urge to tell the guys to drop her.   Soon, Sharon came back and motioned for us to follow her, and we walked behind her for a few metres before we reached a small clearing. She quickly made work of setting up a tent, and gestured for the men to drop Julie who was still unconscious. Behind them, I quietly wondered if she always carried an easy-to-do tent for emergencies or if it was specifically for this mission. Something told me it was the latter.   However, I silently stood by and watched ot

Chapter 13
*JULIE* I slowly blinked open my eyes again and a slight throb started at the front of my head as I adjusted to the dim light coming from in front of me. I brought my hands to my head and groaned softly just as a small shuffling started beside me. Curiously, I turned to my side and saw Sharon's head on my lap as she snored softly. I noticed my surroundings and it seemed like I was inside the easy to do tent Sharon usually carried for emergencies. Through a small crack in it, I saw that it was night time and a lone star twinkled in my sight. I rubbed my forehead, trying to remember what happened, but the last thing I recalled was feeling dizzy and shutting my eyes to rest. Had I fainted? Just at that moment, my friend woke up and I felt her hand on mine. "Julie, how are you f

Chapter 14
JULIE* The following morning, I woke up with a start and when I peeped outside the tent, the moon was just disappearing from the clouds. I looked towards where the rogues had set their beds and realized that they were all still sleeping. Beside me, Sharon was curled up with her hands tucked between her legs as she snored softly. Once again, I had woken up before everyone else. I quietly crawled out of the tent and breathed in the scent of fresh wood and wet earth. I stretched leisurely and began to walk towards one of the rogues, snoring loudly as a bead of drool dripped from his mouth. We were supposed to go for a morning jog, as that helped him reduce his weight, but I stopped in my tracks when I got within three feet of him. I was no longer the Rogue leader. The events of

Chapter 15
Julie Immediately the men threw Sharon and I into the cage, they bolted it and turned to leave. I shook the cage furiously, screaming after them but they ignored me and walked away, leaving us in the dark tiny cell. Frustrated, I turned to my friend who was calmly sitting at a corner of the cell, my head bent over and I walked to meet her. My hands were still balled into fists and I wanted to punch the wall, but one look at the hard concrete and I knew it would be of no use. More than half of my people were dead from the few minutes of onslaught by Donald's pack. Even our attempt at escape was futile, as he still captured us eventually. Now my remaining army was in the other cells, injured and at near death. I continued to glare ahead of me, and after a moment, I screamed loudly till my throat started to hurt. Beside me, Sharon held

Chapter 16
Donald I bolted the door of my office and fell into step beside Ray who had just finished interrogating the last of the rogues. Just like the others, they had spat at his feet and threatened that they would find their way out of the prison and come back for him. I felt a bit bad for him because he had borne the brunt of their anger, but I also wasn't surprised at their crudeness. Rogues were generally impulsive and hot headed, which was why they couldn't conform to the stable rules of their pack and ended up being thrown out of their communities. For all their senseless arguments and tales of being better than the normal packs, they went around causing nuisance and killing innocent people. I put my hand over his shoulder in support and soon, we arrived at the wide clearing in front of the pack house where the Pack elders were seated

Chapter 17
Donald I stormed into my office and slammed the door shut behind me, vaguely hearing the echo it made throughout the rest of the house. My mind was filled with so many thoughts about what to do with the elders as well as the rogues to prevent a clash from either side. On one side, the elders were thirsty for the blood of the rogues that had plagued their lives for more than half a decade, but on the other hand, my mate was among them. I groaned and buried my head between my hands. The unfortunate situation had left me looking like an enemy from both sides of the fence, not like I cared much about the rogues, but still. My phone vibrated inside my pocket and when I brought it out, there was a text from Damien. Unsurprisingly, he wanted to know if Julie and her rogues had truly been captured. A tingle ran through my back as I stared at

Chapter 18
Julie I blinked my eyes open and looked around me, scrambling to get into a sitting position as a small wave of panic fluttered into my chest. Where was I? I thought, trying to adjust to the darkness of the small space as well as the coldness of the floor. A shiver ran through me and I called out to my wolf to offer me some body heat, but she was absent and didn't answer. At that point, my head began to ache so I subconsciously raised my hand to rub at it which was when I noticed Sharon lying at a corner opposite me. Her eyes were closed and I crawled over to her immediately, my heart beating wildly in my chest as I feared for the worst. Thankfully, she was breathing heavily with her fur slightly noticeable through her overalls. It seemed like she felt cold as well, and her wolf responded to her body temperature. At that point, I fel

Chapter 19
DONALD The night was silent, save for the occasional howling of my guards as they patrolled around the area, willing to sink their teeth and claws into any intruder. Valleyfield Pack had a huge expanse of land, running deep into the mountains and past some bodies of water. We had it all; land, water, shelter, population, everything except a Luna. My people had been asking for a queen to call their own for the past four years, and that was the only thing I hadn't been able to provide them. In my quest to look for my mate, I had toured all the kingdoms going to their most and least reclusive places to search for my mate. Everytime, I came back with a forlorn face, the disappointment in my elders and people disheartening. Finally, just when I decided to give up on the search, I found her. The person my people needed to finally be comple

Chapter 20
RAY As I sat on the bean chair in silence, my best friend paced up and down the length of the wide room, sighing every two seconds. After a moment, I cleared my throat and looked up at him. "Can you please sit down? You're moving up and down isn't allowing me think clearly." He stared at me for a second with glassy eyes that looked unfocused, before he shook his head and sat beside me again. "What do we do? The rogues are gone. All of them." I couldn't believe it myself. Donald hadn't even set his plans in motion yet his mate and her rogues had outsmarted us. A shiver rose up my back at the thought. If the rogues were free again, with the vengeance they had for our pack, I couldn't begin to imagine what they had in store for us.
