Oftentimes, heart to heart conversations are the best because each and one of us can become vulnerable. And, vulnerability attracts honesty, while honesty attracts two souls to connect more.Zoey froze in her spot. Suddenly, everything about Dionysus fascinated him again and brought fluttering feelings inside her chest. The way he smells, the way he simply sit in front of him, the way he smiles genuinely at her, the way he holds his wine glass so elegantly, the way he looks so manly even in just a white shirt and cotton shorts and most importantly, the way he stares at her like he really sees her as the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, likely to what Keisha also apprised her. But, it only took Zoey one glance down to her arms, to her arms that were discolored by big, brown patches and Zoey immediately remembered the long buried scar deep inside her soul. She closed her eyes and suddenly remembered all the bullying she had experienced when she was still attending middle school ye

Deaths can change the way we see everything, because it is the grief that tears everything down about us. Our losses rearrange our world and the pain transports us to an entirely different universe and to an entirely different thinking. The old Chevalier was lying on the carpeted floor, with his eyes and mouth open, lifeless and seemingly not breathing anymore. He was surrounded by his own pool of blood that was coming from the massive gunshot wound on his chest that looked like it was directly shot onto his heart. Dionysus never knew that he could utterly feel his world crumbling down more than ever. What devastated him more was the fact that his grandfather's face looked like he had felt such tremendous pain before actually dying on the spot."Grandpa. ." Dionysus' voice quivered while his hands started trembling so badly.Dionysus' mind stopped processing anything right there and then. He froze on his spot and even though he wanted to crawl towards his grandfather, his body wasn't

We all could presume that life is very much stronger than death, even though it cannot definitely stop death from transpiring. Yet, no matter how hard death tries, it cannot absolutely separate people from love. And, in the end, life is still stronger than death. "Here is the body, Attorney Alessandro. Shall I unzip the bag for you?" The doctor asked as soon as he placed the stainless metal trolley cart in front of Sebastian and Zoey where Hermes Chevalier's dead body was currently lying. The doctor got the dead body from the humongous mortuary fridges on the farthest corner Zoey wouldn't even think to come close.Zoey closed her eyes. She could feel all the hairs on her body rising in fear. She was just not used to seeing dead people's bodies let alone being inside a freaking mortuary where several dead bodies were kept for a while before being cremated or taken to a burial."No. I can do it. And, can I ask a favor? Could we see the body alone? You know, my assistant and I don't lik

A woman can absolutely do anything for the man she loves. Because when she fell in love, she fell in love deeply, fiercely and irrevocably. Zoey thought that she had been dismissed because the automated voice was turned off and no one had opened the humongous gate for her. She waited for almost five minutes and was about to give up when suddenly, a housemaid opened the small gate beside her.Zoey thought she was going to be ushered inside but Dionysus' mother was already in front of her, eyebrows furrowing and arms being crossed on her chest. "So, you are the murderer's secretary? How dare you come here and talk about papa? Isn't it enough that your boss killed him in the most gruesome way!"Zoey was so taken aback. Now, she fully understood why the bloody hell Hermes Chevalier told her that Dionysus' parents never became a proper model for him and how his parents affected his way of thinking about the real concept of love. "Dionysus didn't kill Mr. Hermes, madame. He wouldn't do tha

A quote we should all know about is, 'the love of a family is life's greatest blessing'. A tear fell from Zoey's eyes. Dionysus' words were like a sharp knife cutting through her heart, again and again. Dionysus never even wavers to look directly at Zoey's eyes just to show her that he really meant every single word he had said and that he utterly wanted Zoey to digest it all at once and never forget all of it at all. Sebastian sighed because of the scene being played in front of him but he unequivocally knew that he doesn't have any right to intervene in that kind of situation. "So, that's it, then?" Zoey asked with so much disbelief and pain in her voice. "That's how you decide to fucking push me away? Why? Perhaps, you realize you suddenly don't want me anymore?" Zoey's almond eyes kept tearing up, but she promised to herself that that would be the last time she would do that for Dionysus. "Who said I want you anyways? I don't even like you in the first place." By then, lots o
