He wished he was returning home from the dinner. He couldn't wait for it to be over with even though it hasn't started yet, and he hasn't met the strange female he was arranged to be wedded with. "Paris," Everlee heard Mrs. Poppy knocking down her door. She quickly put down the book she was reading and ran over to open the door. "Where is Paris?" Mrs. Poppy inquired gravely. "I don't know," Everlee answered cluelessly. Mrs. Poppy stormed into the room. "I know you're lying," said Mrs. Poppy. "Why would I lie about Paris's whereabouts?" Everlee asked her mom staring at her confused. Mrs. Poppy walked towards her and stared into her eyes. "You truly don't know," she said. "I have to go and find her." She left the room. "Mom," Everlee called. Mrs. Poppy didn't stop. Everlee began to worry about Paris discovering what had happened. She knew Paris must have become cold feet about meeting the suitor she was arranged to be married to and left home without anyone knowing. She went over to her bedroom window staring at the sky as it slowly darkens hoping Mrs. Poppy finds her and that she was out there safe. Paris sat there silently now in the dark having only the moonlight.

That night Everlee didn't leave her room. She stayed with Paris and watch her as she slept trying to be there for her the best she could. "Everlee," Paris's eyes opened still seeing her little sister wide awake. Everlee gently touched her face with a bright smile. "Did you sleep well last night?" she asked Paris with sleepy eyes. Paris nodded sadly looking at her with concern seeing how tired she was. "You don't have to worry about me I have all day to sleep," said Everlee. Paris nodded and sat up. "I'm going to wash my face and get back to my old self,” Paris said sadly walking to the bathroom Everlee sat up and watched with a broken heart hating what she had said. "Paris," Everlee called rushing from the bed and to the door of the bathroom. "Yes," Paris answered washing her face clean. "How about we go out this evening, a girl’s day out?" she told Paris. "I have work to get to," Paris answered reaching for her face towel. Everlee reached for it and placed it in her hand.

When Everlee got up it was noon. She was frightened at how long she slept she jumped out of bed, took a quick shower, and get dressed into a comfy thin white dress that showed her tiny waist and curvy body. She put on a thin layer of makeup with a finishing touch of bright red lip gloss and brushed back her curly hair tying a white headband over it. She put on a flat white shoe and left with her stylish handbag that was as red as her lip gloss. "Good afternoon," she greeted Delilah in the kitchen as she poured herself a cup of coffee and began to drink. Delilah greeted her back. "Delilah, can you arrange my parent’s personal coachman to take me to the new museum here?" she asked. "Sure, miss," Delilah said with a smile and quickly went to inform the coachman. Everlee made a step backward, changing her mind, to purchase the painting from him. She now wanted to get away from him. She wished she wasn't so determined to get the painting, seeing it was the rude handsome stranger who had once offered to give her a ride. "You have no shame trying to gain my attention after your first meeting with me," the tall man in the dark suit reminded Everlee of their first meeting. One she wanted to forget. "How dear you," Everlee responded staring into his dark brown eyes. She looked around if anyone was looking at them and walked away angrily leaving the museum right away. At work Mr. and Mrs. Poppy ignored Paris. It hurt Paris's. She tried talking to them, but they remained to ignore her, still upset about last night. "Mom, dad, are you both just going to keep on ignoring me?" Paris inquired having enough of their behavior. They both said nothing. "I'm sorry for upsetting you both," Paris apologized. Mr. Poppy got up and left the office. "Dad," Paris called. He didn't answer, leaving. Soon Mrs. Poppy got out from her desk about to leave. "What your father and I were doing for you yesterday evening was to find someone so that when we're no longer here we know you won't be alone," said Mrs. Poppy. Paris's eyes were slowly open to a warm touch against her forehead. She saw it was Everlee wiping her forehead with a damp piece of white clothing. "Are you okay?" Everlee inquired concerned. "I'm okay now," Paris answered. Paris tried to sit up. "Please lay for a little while before getting up," Everlee told her. The bedroom door opened, and Paris saw her mom and the family doctor, Dr. Douglas entering her room. "Mom, you didn't have to call the doctor, I was just tired, and I didn't eat lunch nor breakfast this morning that's why I fainted," Paris told Mrs. Poppy. The following morning Paris got up before anyone did and secretly went off to Malverth Street, where her arranged husband mansion was. The entire journey she was anxious to reach before anyone realized she wasn't in bed. The thought of her mom discovering she was not in her room had her biting at her nails. Finally, she had reached. She exited the carriage before the coachman could leave his seat to open her door and run to the gate. "Good morning, I'm here to see Mr. Archer," she told the security guard quickly. The maid welcomed Paris inside the home. She informed Paris to stand in the hallway while she went to inform Mr. Archer in the living room that he had a visitor. "Mom, I'll be going out for a while," Everlee informed Mrs. Poppy as she sipped her tea around the dining table, having her breakfast. "And where you're going to?" asked Mrs. Poppy curiously. "To the museum," retorted Everlee. Mrs. Poppy nodded. Everlee eyes slowly moved from her mother to the half-finished chamomile tea knowing she wasn't just going to the museum to look at paintings. She was hoping to see the handsome rich stranger she admired. "So, how long will you stay for?" inquired Mrs. Poppy. "I'm not sure, the beautiful painting of the museum makes it difficult for you to leave sometimes for they give you so much peace inside just looking at them," answered Everlee. Everlee's comment wasn't all a lie. She did love looking at paintings for what seemed like an hour but today she promised herself to wait in the museum until she luckily sees him again.
