Chapter twenty two MaeveThe next day hadcome and Alpha Devon and I hadn't woke up early, but we had gotten prepared as fast as we could and gone out to join the rest. They had used the space behind the pack house and chairs and tables had been set up under canopies that blocked out the sun. There were different games and activities that had been set out in advance. Alpha Devon and I quickly moved to the seats that had been set out for us. Arthur had taken the stage to address the Alphas and officially welcome them for the gathering. I found it difficult to look straight at him. I also caught him staring at me a few times. After he was done with his speech, he announced that we could do as many activities as we liked, as the day was just for games. I was happy about that as I didn't have to sit through any boring seminar, but I knew that would eventually happen as it was already scheduled for the next day. I had gotten seperated from Alpha Devon in the crowd somehow and I was too

Chapter twenty fourMaeveI had a done look on my face as I stood leaning on the wall with Hazel's weight on me. I was already sick and tired of all these people pulling me around and questioning me like I was some suspect in a murder case."I asked you a question, and I expect an answer." She spat into my face.I sighed to calm myself down before I answered her."I do not answer to you, Hazel. I don't see why I have to tell you or inform you about every little move I make." I stayed against the wall, letting her think that she had the upper hand against me. "Well, if you don't want to have both of our heads chopped off, then I think you do. You have to inform me of every single thing that you do when I asked you." I was being lenient on her because I knew that she was paranoid about the whole situation, but it wasn't like I also wanted everyone to find out. "Do let me get started on you, Hazel. You won't like me when I do." I let her know."You can't do anything, Maeve. Now tell m

Chapter twenty sixMaeveThe next day, I woke up and thankfully, Alpha Devon didn't say anything, so thay meant he hadn't found out that I left the room the night before. After he apologized to Arthur the day before, he had been acting a little strange, but I didn't want to say anything about it to avoid bringing up the issue again.I hadn't expected to meet with Arthur when I went out to drink water. I had noticed him patrolling the corridors after a while of sitting in the kitchen, but I didn't expect him to go into the kitchen.Immediately I raised my head up and saw him, memories of what had happened that day came rushing back into my head. I had to shake my head and try my best not to think about it, and thankfully, Arthur seemed to have learnt his lesson as he kept his distance from me.The activity for the day was going to be kind of like a discussion about the issues going on in different packs and the attacks that the rouge alpha had been laying.I had gotten dressed faster th

Chapter twenty eightMaeveMy eyes widened as I stared at Alpha Damien who was standing right in front of me. He mirrored my reaction perfectly because obviously I looked exactly like Hazel. He stepped back and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he watched me. I let out a little laugh as his lips moved, but no words left his mouth.I felt sort of confused inside as he didn't look the same as when I saw him the last time, even though only about a year had passed. He appeared to be a lot older and his face was wrinkly, and that made me wonder what had happened while I wasnt around.I couldn't ask him any questions as I wasn't supposed to know him. I would say that I had heard about him through Hazel and she had shown me his picture."Good day, Alpha." I greeted him and he seemed even more confused."What…. aren't you Hazel? I thought I just saw you over there?" He said and that made me laugh even harder. Our parents had done a good job at hiding the fact that we were twins from every

Chapter thirtyMaeveI was really trying to calm down so that I wouldn't do something that I would regret to Hazel. I had to remind myself of the fact that she was still the Luna of the pack, and any actions that I made would be see as against the pack. I let out a deep breath and tried to put a smile on my face as we approached Alpha Damien who had his back to us.I tapped his back and when he turned around, the shock on his face was really surprising. I really couldn't believe that my parents didn't even tell him that we were twins and they claimed to be close to him."Is this really true?" He said as Hazel came to stand beside me.He picked one of my hands and one of Hazel's. "I really can't believe that this is true." He said, still in awe. "Your parents never said anything about this to me. I only ever knew Hazel, but meeting you now feels like an honor." He said as he let go of Hazel's hand and held my hand with both of his."I hope that we can get along just like how I got al
