As Cass stepped onto the sprawling grounds of Marcus's multimillion-dollar mansion, her eyes widen with a mix of awe and wonder. She had stepped into houses of the rich and famous when she was a lawyer but this was far more grand than anything she had ever seen. The exterior of the mansion was a sight to behold, It was an architectural masterpiece. The grand entrance with its double doors and intricate carvings made her feel like she was entering a castle. The white walls were accentuated by beautifully manicured gardens, bursting with vibrant flowers and lush greenery. They kept driving down a lawn that didn't seem to end. Finally, Cass could see the hint of a mansion up ahead. The car stopped but Cass was still in a trance at the beauty of the house. "You can come in this way Miss Thorton" The chauffeur said pointing towards the door. She had been so struck that she hadn't noticed the chauffeur step down or open the car door. "WOW!!!" Cass said as she looked up. Cass steps int

"Hello you must be Alex, I have heard so much about you" Cass said politely Cass walked toward Mr Gabe "Good day sir, sorry for coming in late" Mr. Gabe smiled "It's not a problem, Your beautiful face is worth it" Nova turned sharply at the compliment Mr. Gabe gave Cass, he had never complimented her he mostly ignored her presence. She tripped and fell forward towards Marcus who grabbed her and immediately spun her towards Alex who huffed as he hurriedly grabbed her. Marcus left a disgruntled Alex and walked towards his father "Hello Dad" He said placing his hands on Cass's waist to her surprise. Mr Gabe, who had been watching his family's theatrics smiled "Let's have dinner, shall we?" Marcus pulled Cass's chair out and she smiled as she saw Nova stare at her husband to pull hers out too but he didn't notice, finally, Nova seats and dinner commences. The doors open and the chef comes in with a server pushing in a trolley of meals and another bringing in the wine. Cass's mouth

"Have you seen the news, Cass?" Scar's voice sounded anxious and shaky. "No, I haven't. What's happening?" Cass replied, her heart starting to race. Scar's heart skipped a beat before delivering the heartbreaking news, but she would rather her sister hear it from her. "Someone has started a hate account targeting you on social media. They're spreading lies about you failing Mrs. Anderson, leeching off Marcus, saying you are a witch who is using him for money because you failed at life, and even attacking your personal life." Scar hesitated "The things they're saying are cruel and untrue, Cass. I saw reporters lurking around our house this morning, so I had to leave in a rush and hide at a friend's dorm at the university." Cass felt her stomach drop as the weight of the situation sank in. She couldn't believe someone would stoop so low to tarnish her reputation and spread malicious lies about her. Her mind raced with questions about who could be behind this and why they were target

"If it isn't little miss Golddigger, What are you doing here? Isn't this establishment a little above your pay grade?" Cass heard behind her, she could recognize that screechingly annoying voice anywhere. She turned and stared right at Stacey, it seemed like she couldn't have a minute of peace. She saw Scar about to give a retort and motioned her to stop; she was going to handle this herself. "Just because you are dating a Wells, you think you can parade yourself around respectable establishments. Shouldn't you be saving all the money you get so you don't land on your bottom when he leaves you?" Stacey said derisively while her friends laughed. Cass could feel the eyes of onlookers on her, the tension in the air palpable. Cass's patience wore thin as she faced Stacey's snide remarks. The familiar sting of Stacey's spiteful words hit her, but this time, Cass was determined to let her have it. "Stacey, it's quite impressive that you manage to pack so much bitterness into every word

Cass looked at the ring on her finger if only the proposal was as real as the ring."Your ring looks so beautiful!!! I can't wait to be your bridesmaid!!! we should pick a color theme for the dress, I want to plan your bachelorette party, not Amanda..." Cass could hear Scar drone on and on but she was miles away in la la land. What would Scar think if she got divorced after three years or found out that it was all fake? She had to do it for Mrs. Anderson. Was that her only reason? She couldn't help but ponder. She couldn't deny that she felt something for Marcus but there was no way she would act on those feelings. Jake's betrayal was enough, she was not going to fall in love helplessly again only to be tossed to the side."What are you thinking about Cass?" Scar asked worriedly "It's nothing I am just bothered by the publicity, I don't know if it's good or bad. I feel like a lot has happened in just one week of us being together" Cass answered "What do you mean by just one week of
