Broken Halo のすべてのチャプター: チャプター 41 - チャプター 50

Malakai got into the back of the car with Eden, Astrid at the front with Sienna obviously driving. Malakai looked at Eden and got so damn worried. Whoever did this to her was going to pay in blood. “Go to the agency, we have an infirmary there.” Malakai told Sienna. “No, we could be followed. Elijah was trying to get the location of the agency and your house out of me.” Eden explained. “We’ll go to mine.” Astrid suggested and in another 10 minutes, they reached her apartment making sure they weren't followed. “I’m so sorry baby, I said I would protect you, and this is the complete opposite.” Malakai said, pulling Eden to his side kissing the top of her head. “It's okay, this wasn't your fault.” Eden said close to passing out again. They reached Astrid’s apartment and Malakai carried her inside, placing her on the sofa. He went to look out the window to see if they had been followed, thankfully there was no one, they were in the clear right now. Astrid was a trained first aide

In the evening, the two left together to the club, they went together in the car which Eden insisted on driving. The two arrived at the club and everything seemed fine. Alec was nowhere to be seen but Eden could see Astrid at the bar. They walked through the doors with Malakai's arm around Eden's waist and to say that turned some heads would be an understatement, Astrid saw and was proud of her friend. "Hey Lix. Boss. I would hate to say anything like I told you so, but I called it." Astrid said to Eden who rolled her eyes at her friend. "What does she mean?" Malakai asked and Astrid smiled cheekily. "From the very beginning Astrid kept telling me you looked at me with hearts in your eyes. Her words, not mine." Eden answered and Malakai looked at Astrid and could see a literal child. Astrid was a teenager when Malakai met her and offered her to work for Malakai. Astrid had some problems at home and always ran from home, Malakai noticed obviously and wanted to help her. To be

Eden released a breath she didn't know she was holding. She looked at her hand and remembered Malakai's words. 'Never forget that.' She could never forget Malakai's love for her. It was his love that made her the happiest she could be in such a short time. However, at the same time, she couldn't get the image of Malakai kissing someone else out of her head. That someone else being her ex and a person who claims to still love her after 3 years. This was all so much to deal with. So much that Eden started crying. The tears she held in for so long were finally flowing down her cheeks as she wiped them. She remembered more of Malakai's words. 'Your freckles are stars Eden. All the stars couldn't fit in your eyes so they spread across your cheeks' The memory made her cry even more. Astrid came back in and saw the blond in tears and came to hug her, Eden hugging back. "Oh Eddie. Shh, everything will be okay." Astrid comforted but it made Eden sob even more. Will everything rea

"These what ifs are getting us nowhere. Why don't we try finding out hmm?" Malakai nodded and started typing out a text. "Li-li?" He said and Eden smiled. That must've been Malakai's nickname for her, it was adorable. "Kai?" The reply was almost instant like she was waiting. That's why Malakai loved it when Eden called him Kai, his sister used to call it him too. Not many people call Malakai Kai, probably only Eden and Alec. Eden had her arm around Malakais neck since her legs were over Malakai's lap so she could see. Without hesitation, Malakai clicked the 'call' button and waited for a few seconds before Lilith picked up. "I-is it really you?" Malakai said, the tears in his eyes building up. "Yeah." That single word response made Malakai sob out in relief, the tears freely flowing through his voice. "I'll see you soon big brother." Lilith said and hung up. What? Soon? Lilith texted and called to let them know she was alive. That was the only explanation Malakai had.

"I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning sociopath." Eden said, correcting her. She struggled a little as the woman tried to get free but she got her to the balcony. "Now I would love to cut you up in pieces and send you to my boyfriend so I could get a reward, but he's being an asshole to me right now. Also I'm supposed to make your 'fall' look like an accident." Eden held her arms and smiled like a maniac. The woman was shaking and whimpering, scared for her life. "You know, when you're in a relationship, your boyfriend isn't supposed to ignore you is he? Like I want attention, is that so hard to get? Am I right?" Yes, Eden was still pissed at Malakai. The woman violently nodded answering Eden's question. She was confused on why she was making conversation with her though. "Okay whatever, I'll ignore him right back, see how he likes. And your time has come to an end. Say hi to the grim reaper for me." Eden pushed the woman over the ledge, making her fall at least 20 ft
