Chapter 70

"What are you doing here?" Eden asked her parents who stood before her with an unreadable expression. "We wanted to see you. Is that so bad?" Eden's father said. "How did you even know where I was?" Eden asked again. It was unusual for her parents to show up here of all places. "I made Eric tell us. Don't be mad at him, we didn't give him much choice." Eden's mother said but her voice was cold. "Why? After all these years? And you even kept track of me according to Eric." Eden said. The 4 were in Malakai's main living room, no one had sat down since Eden started the questions as soon as she saw her mom and dad. Malakai was beside Eden for moral support and Eden was so grateful. "Because we found out about you being a killer. We didn't raise you to be a criminal." Eden's father said, his tone made Eden flinch. "The second you kicked me out, was the second you no longer had a say in my life. You wanted me gone. I was gone. Hell I even came all the way to LA to get away from you.

4 years later "Eden. Your food is getting cold!" Someone shouted to her from outside "Coming." She shouted back as she put on her last earring and looked at herself in the mirror feeling pretty satisfied. "You look stunning as always. My pretty baby." Her husband said from the doorway as he was walking in. He came behind her and hugged her, locking eyes with her in the mirror. "Is everyone here?" Eden asked and Malakai nodded. "Eric is calling for you. The rest are here and everyone is pretty much chilling. Oh, and your food isn't getting cold Eric is trying to lure you out. And I said I would come get you." Malakai told her and Eden rolled her eyes, typical Eric. "Aunty Eddie!" A small voice said and Eden turned around in an instant at the sweet sound. "My baby. How are you Nic?" Eden asked, picking up the 3 year old girl. "Daddy cawing yu." The little girl said in broken words, she had started to speak and Eden found it adorable. "Okay, let's go see what daddy wants." Eden

"Come on, let's eat. We'll do presents after." Sienna said and rounded up everyone to come to the table. "Come on little princess. If you finish your food, I'll give you ice cream, like I promised." Sienna said to Nicola, her daughter. Eric and Sienna had a baby girl 3 years ago and got married 2 years ago. Yeah, they apparently wanted to do it the other way around. Kids first then marriage. They were a weird couple but everyone loved them so it didn't matter. "Baby, come on." Astrid said to Aiden who just came back from the restroom. Astrid and Aiden had officially started to date a year ago, they went on a mission together once and formed a connection somehow. Then they started going out. The garden was beautifully decorated all thanks to Sienna and Astrid who worked together to prepare this small get together for Eden's birthday. There were fairy lights and lanterns lighting the place up, a barbecue and the table was set up perfectly with all sorts of flowers. It was sm

"That's not what I meant baby. I meant, I never saw Alec because the only one I saw was you. Please don't think what I think you're thinking. I-" Eden cut Malakai off with a kiss. "I was kidding. I know what you mean, don't worry. Alec wanted love, and even though Lilith gave it to him, it wasn't the type of love he needed. I wouldn't ever blame you, no one does so you need to stop blaming yourself. Please." Eden said and put her arms around Malakai. "I can't help it, baby. You know that. I can't help but think that maybe, at some point, if I gave him a chance, he'd still be here. 8 years Eden. 8 fucking years he felt like that. And I'm sorry you had to put up with the depressed me, you were hurting too." Malakai said and tears were already gathering, one had escaped and Eden wiped it away. "You can't blame yourself for any of this. I didn't HAVE to put up with you, I did it because I love you. I chose to be there for all of you, and you've apologised to me for years about this M
