ELENA'S POV The maid came and dropped off a gown saying that the don had sent it specially for our outing. As I unboxed the package, my heart was in my throat as I didn't know what to expect, I didn't do well with revealing dresses and he seemed like the type to want his woman to be a bit revealing so my guess was that this was either a strapless gown or a ridiculously short gown with a heart-shaped neckline to expose some cleavage.I had never been proved more wrong in my life because as I finally brought out the wrapped clothes, I realized that it wasn't even a gown.It was a three-piece suit, tailored to perfection, with a crisp white shirt, a fitted waistcoat, and formal black trousers. I was taken aback by the sheer elegance of it all. The fabric was luxurious, and it seemed to be exactly in my size. The suit was not revealing or flashy, but rather dark and sophisticated. I couldn't wait to put it on and see how it fit. As I began to change, I realized that the suit was not j

ELENA'S POV The car ride was utterly and nerve-wracking silent. It was the type of silence that should be soothing but still managed to make me nervous as I knotted my fingers together in the back seat.He was looking out the window with a hard look on his face and after a while, I couldn't stand the silence anymore so I spoke up.“Where are we going?” I asked. He adjusted in his seat, his gaze softening as he looked at me. “Just a small place” he muttered.I frowned. Small? He wasn't the type of person to go small. He liked lavish stuff so why were we going to a small-scale restaurant? He noticed the look of confusion on my face and offered an explanation. “It's better that way. For you. If you aren't surrounded by expensive-looking stuff, it will be easier to keep yourself in control. Right?” He asked, waiting for confirmation.Oh, right. I nodded immediately and sank further into my seat, conscious of the way he was still looking at me.Clearing my throat, I said the first thing t

ELENA'S POV As we sat in the car on the way back to the mansion, I knew for sure that there was some kind of switch controlling this man's emotions.Because how the fuck would I explain him being casual and mischievous one second in the cafe then keeping a straight face while pretending I didn't even exist while we were in the car.It was like a freaking switch had been flipped.I crossed my arms, huffing silently as I stared at him through the rear mirror, an unreadable expression was on his face as he placed a hand under his chin and stared at his phone while going through some stuff.I wanted to tear my gaze away before he caught me looking, I really did want to but I couldn't. I couldn't help but watch how his black silky hair fell in strands obscuring his blue eyes…those beautiful blue eyes that seemed the pierce into my soul anytime he looked at me. But it didn't feel scary. It felt just right. And that was why I couldn't tear my gaze away. He had told me not to fear him even t

ELENA'S POV The knock came again on the door, this time louder.I didn't move.A loud rap on the door again.I didn't steer.“Elena!” The voice on the other end yelled.I flinched and slowly got out of bed, wondering if I could jump out the window but considering that we were on the second floor, that would be suicide “Elena…I know you're in there. Please.” His voice softened.“Fuck this…” I whispered before opening the door.My heart caught in my throat as I caught sight of him in his morning glory. He was wearing a simply white t-shirt that seemed to expand around his muscles and his grey sweatpants hung loosely around his hips. My lips slightly parted and I looked up at him, noticing how his hair was still messy but he still managed to look good.Just one sight of him and I almost forgot that I was still mad at him“Elena?” His deep morning voice rumbled and my knees went weak.He knew what he was doing.“What do you want?” I asked, trying to keep up a bored expression and ignore

ELENA'S POV Enrico spread his glossy lips into a thin smile.“Well?”, he asked, as though I should have been ecstatic to see him.Sighing, I resolved to do this. I knew that I was not much help to Luca and the only thing he got out of this was whatever marrying me made him gain meanwhile I literally owed him my life.Just this once.“What are you doing here?” I asked him, raising a brow.“I'll cut straight to the crap. Come work for me” he simply put out.“Not interested. I don't think my husband would be pleased to hear you say this” I said, crossing my arms as I leaned on the wall.“Oh c'mon honey, he doesn't really like you, you know? He's probably in Natalie's room already. I can give you so much” his eyes roved around my body making me sick.“How much are you willing to pay though?” I suddenly asked. His brown eyes lit up as he saw him walk to him and smile at him.“200 thousand,” he said, his tongue sliding over his lips as I placed a hand on his neck.I tried not to gag from t
