Immediately after the bite, he curled up in bed like a cat and slept off. There was communication in what he just did to me. I had only stepped forward to give him a goodbye kiss. Perhaps I shouldn’t have done that. The bite was so excruciating that my hands trembled greatly under the pain and itches that ran up my veins now.And about the thunderous looks on his face when he woke up and saw me with my luggage? I hadn’t seen such countenance on him since I got married to him. What was that all about? Could it be that Brian was regaining his sanity gradually or what? The looks were epic. You know the looks of a kid whose parents were about to leave for work. Those inflated cheeks of his and his narrowed brow still struck me in the head and I was beginning to see a sign of sanity finding its way back into his life.***“I had to dash out when I heard your scream. It is a pity, Melissa.” Salsa said while she treated me with first aid apparatus, pulling me forward to herself each time I f

Never in my entire life have I gone berserk! Never in my prime life have I screamed the way I just did. My sonorous voice blared across the villa, in an alarming, clamoring manner. Salsa’s door was my first destination. I appeared at her door, pummeling and slamming my hands on it as though some dragon was after my life and if she didn’t come out I was going to be a piece of rotten corpse.Right after there, I went to Opula’s chamber and slammed on it in an annoying, ravaging manner that was supposed to earn me a dirty resounding slap if she had come out just then. But I never cared who it was; I suddenly forgot her hatred towards me and what just mattered most to me at the time was the good news. Just like Salsa, she hesitated and didn’t come out immediately. But I had let loose and threw caution to the wind, not giving a shot at whose door I was slamming. Next was on Kate’s door. I shook on it, calling her attention and that of her husband before drifting to that of Eva.“Eva! Eva!

When I locked my sorry eyes into his green watery eyes, I misunderstood his coldness for rage and his crimson cheeks for impending wrath. His face slowly curled back into gloom and strong features that I began to wonder the ills and flaws his sisters must have briefed him about me.He hesitated to speak yet further and I fought back the urge to blow hot at him; I was expecting his compliment for all the sacrifices I did for him. Perhaps I was too fast to expect compliment from a young, cute man from an influential family who would still divorce me for women of his caliber. After all, a while ago, he kept peering his head at his father’s staring at me blankly while they discussed. What else could they be discussing if not me; my poor family background and being a gold digger?Brain’s voice was hoarse, so I misunderstood him, and added, “I know they have told you all sorts about me. First thing tomorrow morning, I will invite the barrister and file for a divorce. The contract stipulates

Opula fumed at Melissa, “I guess you heard the doctor. Why don’t you leave now! He wants to discuss with the Fanny’s and I am sure you are no longer family.” She pointed at the door and yelled yet further, “Can't you hear me. I said leave now!”I fumed back at her, “What arrant nonsense, Opula. Have you chosen to disgrace me in public? I am still part of this family. I am Brian’s wife, legally married. You don’t have to embarrass me as though I am some stranger!”“Shhh!” Kate shut me up with her finger on her lips, “You are a liar. You are no longer my brother’s wife. He has regained his sanity and the contract marriage agreement has stated you can be divorced once he regains his sanity. Automatically, you are no longer family. Leave us now!”Opula added arrogantly, “Yes, of course, so I suggest you return home and get your luggage ready to vacate the villa because in not time soon, our lawyer will serve you the divorce papers. For now this is a matter that is exclusively reserved for

There was a knock on the door. I lacked the verve to answer the door. But the guest entered after waiting for a while without anyone answering. It was Salsa. She was having handy a tray of dish and once she caught sight of my moody face and my sorrowful countenance, sobbing hugely, she paused, breathed uneasily and shook her head. She walked gently to my side.“I made you green tea, doughnuts and tomatoes. I specially made it for you. I guess you need to calm your nerves and pet your heart, after the troubles.”She was done serving breakfast at the dining. And although she expected me to respond, she didn’t expect it to be prompt. She hadn’t seen much of me these days, and she wondered if I had disappeared out of the villa like she had always thought. At the time, I was still gazing upon the photos of Brian and fondling with my fingers as I couldn’t stop recalling sensual memories with Brian and what fate had for him now he was in a coma.Salsa shook her head in pity once she shot an
