I sat across from him, a cup of coffee in my hand, my eyes trying their very best to avert his gaze, his green short sleeve shirt protruding his slightly huge biceps, hogging them, his eyes focused on me.“So..how are you feeling?” I asked, holding my coffee mug with both hands, anxiety in my veins.“I feel all better..besides you gave me a lot of time to recuperate before meeting for coffee” he said, a smile on his lips, one that hid his canines.“Yeah..I wanted you to have your space” I said, taking a sip of my coffee, hoping it would last in my cup forever.“A month’s really a long space if you ask me” he said in a smooth baritone that seemed to scratch an itch on a part of my brain.“Yeah..I’m just looking out for you” I chuckled nervously, taking another sip.“Is it because of Jenna?” He asked.I froze at his statement, cup at my lips, I looked at him, his light blue eyes watching me.“Don’t tell me you think we’ll still be together” he added, straight to the point. Maybe Cyru

After helping with the morning chores, I felt too exhausted, luckily for me, I did help around my home when I was younger instead of asking all the maids to do all I wanted, my efforts were finally paying off but at what cost?“Are you sitting down doing nothing?” Roseline asked.“I’m taking a break” I answered, almost furious.“When you haven’t cleaned your portion of the house?” She asked.I scoffed at her.“Did you just scoff at me?!” She exclaimed.“You’re asking me to do all these and there are many maids for that kind of job” I answered.“Those maids are paid minimum wage but if you want to eat in this house, you’ll do your part of the work” she said angrily. This escalated more quickly than expected, I raised a brow at her, walked to my room instead of indulging her.“Are you walking out on me?!” She yelled.I fully ignored her, walking as slowly as I could to get to my room, to grab my phone and call Damien and tell him about his sister’s rude behavior.“Hey babe” I said to th

I had learnt to wake up early, earlier than usual and stick to the routine to helping the maids around the house.I cooked, washed and cleaned, helping out in ways I could and made sure Roseline had seen me work just so I wouldn’t get on her bad side, yet, nothing worked, she found faults in my food, dirt in the place I cleaned and chastised me for not waking up early enough. It has been foue months living under the same roof as Roseline and Sara and it had to be the worst months of my life, I went through excruciating pains while doing the chores and all I got were scolds, I hadn’t gotten used to it, I never thought I would because this was worse than being alone, never did I know, it could actually be worse.“Hey babe..someone’s phoning you” I said as I walked in, exhausted from doing the house chores, I saw his phone buzzing as he stayed in the shower, getting his bath. There was no response, the water must have had a deafening effect. I looked over to the phone to see the caller

It wasn’t a dream. I had woken up early enough and the sight I beheld haunted me, he planted a kiss on her nape while his hands were on her waist as she let her skin meet with his, while I stood by the stairs, watching them both go into the guest room.“What’s happening?” I muttered, my voice not loud enough to get to them.I felt a sting in my chest, as though my heart was shattered, then I recalled Cyrus’ words ‘it’s not the right call..don’t fall for him’ he said, while I feigned ignorance, completely. Now I stared at them both as he held her waist, planting kisses on her cheeks and neck.“Miss Forest” a maid said from behind, drawing my attention.“Yes..” I answered, a faint smile on my lips as I answered her.“I’ve been trying to get you to answer me, you seemed lost in thought” she said.“Oh..didn’t you see what was going on?” I asked, pointing to where I saw Jenna and Damien.“There’s no one there” she answered.I turned to her, it was a figment of my imagination, I felt a chil

“I’m sorry miss..you lost the child” the doctor said as he addressed me.I felt my heart sink, I knew before having the driver take me that I had lost my child but still, I wanted a confirmation. I looked at the pregnancy result as I held it yesterday, sobbing.I entered the house with no will to argue or fight.“What’s up with her?” Jenna asked Roseline as she held up her wine glass.“Should you even care? She looks like she’s about to die” Roseline responded with a chuckle.Jenna noticing my state, joined her as well, laughing as she took sips of her wine.I walked into my room, face down, my body pale, my soul crushed. I couldn’t imagine that the death of an unborn child could hurt as much as it did now, my heart ached, I preferred solitude, I starved myself and soon enough, it was too problematic to bear for Damien.“Go to the guest room downstairs” he said in a cold, harsh tone as I coddled myself, crying.“You’re taunting my sleep, all you do is lay at the corner, you refuse to
